Mostly her next attempt at some provocative statement. | A p p e a r a n c e D e t a i l s If somebody told you grunge was dead, they really never met Amelia. Her look is almost never complete without a scuffed black leather jacket, jeans torn at the knees, and the occasional dirt mark on her face. She used to also carry paint stains and a face mask. However, with her arrival to the Promise, this probably won't be seen much in the future anymore. Amelia is quite flexible, and has slightly toned muscle. However, this isn't that clearly visible under her baggy clothes and lack of care for her appearance. |
If you ever met that crazy person in high school who did drugs, vandalized buildings, and generally went "fuck the man", you already have a pretty close idea to what Amelia is like. Amelia is, at heart, a rebel. If she's told she can't do something or shouldn't, she will make every reasonable effort to do it anyway.
Ironically, when Amelia isn't acting like a complete anarchist, she's actually a very chill person. When not presented with a threat to her freedom, Amelia is very welcoming and friendly. She'll at least try anything she's invited to, and is very open to new ideas. However, when confronted with injustice or a threat to her freedom, its like a switch is flipped. She quickly becomes angry, unflinching, and ready to act. Although Amelia acts with the intent of correcting injustice, she does have a tendency to take her vendettas just a liiiittle bit too far.

Amelia was born to a family of privilege and connections with the government. Her family had a nice home in a nice neighborhood. Your standard neighborhood culdesac with other families of similar standing, wealth, and propriety, who's children all went to a fancy prep school. Friends of the family were expecting little Amelia to be a prim and proper daughter to be groomed for a similar lifestyle. To the family's disappointment, that was not at all what they got. Amelia had a tendency to ask hard questions even as a child. Why did her family have lots of nice things when others didn't? Why did we have to be mean to the Parahumans? As Amelia grew older and smarter, the answers she got became increasingly....unsatisfactory. And when finally her parents defaulted to "that's just the way it is", Amelia flipped.
At the start of high school, Amelia went from child asking the hard questions to public menace. She defaced public property with activist graffiti art. She began to associate with "the wrong crowd". Alcohol, drugs, and other activities to instigate became increasingly common. And this all came to a head when Amelia's parahuman abilities came into her life.
In early sophomore year, Amelia was about to be cornered by the cops after her latest stunt. Hidden in an alley, she wished that she wasn't here, and was at home in bed, and was suddenly surprised to find that was exactly the case seconds later. Suddenly intoxicated with power, Amelia began to step up her game, causing more trouble and getting away with it. But she made one major mistake. She got careless. It didn't take to long before the government was banging on the door wanted to test Amelia for parahuman abilities. While Amelia could ditch the cops no problem at this point, government agents was another story.
Given her family's pull, Amelia was faced with a quite generous choice. She could either tone down the vandalism, play nice with the government for a year, and be sent to the latest and greatest academy for parahumans for her junior year, or she could be treated as a criminal. Amelia was rebellious, but she wasn't stupid. She chose the former.

Superhuman Ability | Quantum Teleportation
Amelia has the ability to change her relative space instantly by altering the vibration of her molecules and their quantum state. Essentially its all fancy jargon for teleportation. Amelia is able to expand this quantum instability to anything she is in contact with, including her clothes, objects she's carrying, and other people if she strains hard enough. Her ability is most efficient when teleporting somewhere within line of sight. However, she is also able to teleport to locations she can think of in her head. However, for this to be possible Amelia needs to know where she is going, and where that location is relative to her own.
Limitation(s) | Since Amelia's powers are based on quantum law applied at a macro scale, her abilities are highly impaired while she is being actively observed. When directly viewed, Amelia's range of teleportation is highly reduced to only several yards away. The strain of long distance teleporation is also increased, and it requires longer for her to actually do so while under observation. The effect isn't as pronounced when being viewed indirectly, such as through a camera feed, but is still significant.
Weakness(es) | At the end of the day, Amelia's ability to teleport is as limited as that. Teleportation. Teleporting doesn't cancel out her momentum, so if she teleports out of falling, hitting the ground will still hurt. Teleporting in a fight is also difficult, given the observation factor, and this also makes teleporting offensively a near impossibility unless its out of a hiding spot.

O T H E R
Acrobatics: A long history of climbing buildings and forced ballet classes have left Amelia with a skill at moving dexterously. She can climb surfaces within reasonable limits, and is very quick and evasive.
Hiding: After a high school career of ditching the cops for her antics, Amelia is very skilled at hiding when she doesn't want ot be found. Its actually one of the reasons she wears mostly black, as opposed to her grungey fashion sense.
Artistry: While mostly displayed through graffiti vandalism, Amelia has an uncanny skill for creative arts.

So how does it look? I wanted to do a unique spin on a teleporter with a more reasonable limitation so I can't just warp anywhere I want.
