But Pirates like both kinds of booty.
Mentis had been keeping to himself the whole time, poking his index fingers together, with his head lowered, and his eyes shyly cast up at the group. While the others got antiquated with each other, or otherwise gave annoyed glares. This is why he chose to stay out of conversation, unless of course someone approached him, there was less chance of annoying others that way.
He didn't really know how he could contribute anyway, he had no muscles to flex, weapons to parade about or abilities to show off. No unless someone got hurt, he was pretty much useless, unless one of them wanted someone they could talk to. He had always been a good listener, or so he has been told.

Because of his observing the others, Mentis knew immediately when someone was wrong he could see them tense as they seemed to either sense something, or notice something off in the distant. Mentis found himself growing nervous again, in reaction to others, and glanced over to Arya as she gave the order for everyone to get into the ship. Mentis would have managed to get there on his own, though it might have taken him a while, as he would have politely stood aside and let everyone else on first, it was only good manners despite the situation. This didn't come to be however, as the boy felt himself being grabbed by another.

"Uh?..oh, ok"
His voice was barely audible as he fell into a sort of ragdoll state, letting himself be dragged and ushered towards the ship, with no resistance to the one grabbing him. As they got to the ship, Mentis quickly stumbled through the door, and off to the side to get out of everyone's way, though he stopped and turned to face Tristan, smiling to the larger man with much gratitude.

"Thank you, Tristan"
he spoke quietly, probably wouldn't even be heard over all the noise and chaos. The boy then turned his attention to the others, watching again quietly, as they all managed to get themselves onto the ship one way or another. He was relieved for a time, though knew that until they all settled down, they were still in danger.
Nice picture.
Mentis started to grip the front of his oversize coat, a nervous habit of his. The idea of calling her by her first name, not by rank or even by her last name, it wasn't something he was use too, and so he seemed to become even more anxious than before. He lifted his gaze back up to her, so not to be rude about, and so that she could hear his quiet voice.

"Oh, sorry, Yes Ms lieute-...I mean, Yes Ms Arya" He smiled to her again, He always seemed to smile at everyone, even if it was out of nervousness
"I will just be over here, if you need me"
he mumbled as he stepped to the side while gesturing to the spot he would stand, out of the way of all the others, no doubt they were already judging him. And why wouldn't they? they were here to fight, and he couldn't even stand to touch a gun, let alone lift one. When he got the opportunity to the find infirmary on the ship, he could stop being so nervous about everything.
While waiting for the orders, he took this moment to examine the other six members. Days before coming here, he pulled up everyone's medical records, well as many as he could get his skinny fingers on. So despite not really knowing anyone on the team, he at least knew who they were and what they were.
He had noticed the two who arrived a little after he, the one who emerged from the shadows, and the other under the cloak, who seemed to be rather flustered as she reported into the lieutenant-major. She seemed worse than he was at talking to people, but that is a rude thought, and he shouldn't think like that again.

When Arya started to speak to them all, Mentis turned his gaze onto her, listening closely so not to miss anything, it wouldn't do if he missed important information because he wasn't paying attention. Though it seemed only to be a summary of why there were here, important mission debriefing would probably happen once they were all settled onto the ship.
Mentis frowned slightly though at the 'awarded handsomely' part, no one just did this out of the goodness of their heart, there would always be an award, though maybe he could just give it to someone else, whatever the reward would be, or just not request one. He didn't like making a big deal out of things, he was only there to help the people and his new team the best he could.
I'll have to wait till I get home to post again.
But now it's Easter weekend.
I did a thing
Not long after the first few members arrived at the airship, to report to the woman in charge of this operation. A skinny and pretty young looking boy, who looked greatly out of place among the group of tough, battled trained warriors, shuffled in with a nervous little smile on his thin lips. He hardly looked ready for a fight, in fact, he seemed to struggle with just drawing in a full breath into his lungs. He was very sickly, not just his breathing and his dark eye sockets, but his body appeared so thin, so frail that just hugging him wrong could cause him injury, yet there he was, part of the team.
As he entered the area where everyone waited, he couldn't help but to stop and took a moment to look up at the ship, his expression in awe at the sheer size of the airship, it was like nothing he had ever seen before.

Quickly noticing the others who had gathered, he closed his mouth, and carefully walked around them, almost hoping not to be seen by them. Maybe he could just make himself known only when he needed too, because surly after seeing him they wouldn't want him around. The only reason he was here int he first place, was because of his medical expertise.
He should just, stand out of the way, and let the trained solders handle everything else. That is what he first thought anyway, he soon stopped himself, fidgeting with his fingers. That was a selfish thought, he should introduce himself so that they knew he was at least there, otherwise it might cause trouble for all of them. They looked so tough though, it made him nervous the idea of approaching them. Waiting for her to finish talking to the others, and subtly avoiding the man giving hand shakes he approached the one in charge. He wondered to himself though, how did he always end up getting into these situations?

"Excuse me, Ms lieutenant-major?" His voice was hardly louder than a whisper, and while smiling brightly, he walked to her with nervous little steps "My name is Mentis, I am here to report in, as, your medic"
He suddenly dropped his smile for a moment, placing this thin fingers to his lips, and glancing skywards as he thought of something "That is what I am suppose to say, right?" He looked to her again. He then smiled as he changed his mind about the question, and took a few steps back from her, and cast his eyes down "No, you are busy, I should not be asking questions, I apologize"
I'll get a post up later today. After work.
Name: Mentis

Age: 14 years, though often mistaken to be older.

Race: Human

Appearance: Mentis is tall for his age, standing at 5'8 tall, with wavy white hair that's just above shoulder length, amber colored eyes, and pale white skin. Though due to an eating disorder, he is greatly underweight.
Mentis wears a brown coat that is to large for him, along with torn, tan baggy pants, and black boots. And a necklace hidden under his coat.
He is often mistaken to be much older than he is, and never really bothers to correct people on this.

Ability type: Mentis has no abilities, though he is an exceptionally good doctor in training, he has been learning since he was very young.

Equipment: Mentis carries a back pack with him at all times, fulled with bandages, ointments, needles and thread for any cuts that need stitches. Along with other basic medicines, and tools of his trade.
Mentis carries no weapons with him.

Personality: TBA

Bio: Mentis had always been a frail human, from the day he was born, with weak lungs and a fragile body. Because of this he was sent to be raised by a doctor's family, who could probably look after him.
By has always been mature for his age, and by nature he is an incredibly friendly and selfless boy, and he could never bring himself to hurt anyone, (not that he could really even lift a weapon in the first place). So despite his frailty, he wanted to help people in what ever way he could, he decided to become a doctor, like the man who had raised him. It was something he found that he was rather good at and, he had a passion for being a doctor, and so learnt quickly the basics of medicine.
Sweet.
I've been wanting to use Mentis again.
Now I can't wait to get this rolling.
