@Damiann47 - Thanks mate, nice of you to say. I actually mentioned my origins to Meister just in case my fresh-off-the-boat status was a bit of a cause for concern: most everyone I've seen so far seems really nice; but hey, better safe than sorry. Anyways, I'm one of a few people that's came over here from the tight-knit RP community on Terraria Community Forums. It's one of those situations where, though we get along great, we know each other a bit too well and it can be a little damaging to the longevity of our RPs. We're well aware of what kind of people we favour to play, so that can get a little stale; and if we try and beat that by changing up our written personalities, it can be a little tough to motivate ourselves for it. Bit of a Catch 22, then.
Anyways, my intended character - named Zeph - is very definitely the man, though you might find yourself regretting what you wished for down the line! :P
I kid, I kid, but I'm treating myself a little with him. He's an explorer and general miscreant armed with blade and some pretty botched wind magics. As for his personality, he's your classic cheeky chappy. Whether he's seen as charismatic wise-cracker or egotistical git (or anywhere inbetween) will be up for each character to decide to their tastes, but it's pretty much indisputable that his four favourite things on Starland are - easy money, himself, adventure... and himself.
