Current Welp, that's a RIP it seems. On the bright side, that also answered well my second question... how the heck you're supposed to comment on people's statuses. You don't! ^^;

Yo guys, is there any way to change the Forum theme to a different set of colours? Ideally classic white with black text? I got some weird eyes and white-on-black is pretty darn hard to read for me.

@Sho Minazuki Gotcha man, appreciate that. I'll try and keep Euphie fun for me then, but not drowning everyone in info at the same time. Soz for getting hefty in the OOC, it's mainly 'cause on my home forums I got used to the fact that we tend to alternate between memes and serious even in-depth discussion depending on how things are at the time. Kinda forgot that's not really how most people do it.
@Sho Minazuki Sigh... yeah, fine... I got balled out by Rylee for dropping another sweaty post in the IC... just read the last 3 chunks of it and bear with me, I know I got off way too excited with Euphie, it's just my first RP character in like 1 1/2 years. I can't help it. I'll bring her in line to more like the 3, 4 para posts most seem to be rolling with from the next one, okay. Don't sweat it.
Euphoria Caulfield

In the Lab.

(Addressing: @Amaterasu - Para.5, Interacting: @Sho Minazuki, @MechonRaptor) Edit: for your mercy, just read the last 3 paragraphs if you're bored.

Truth be told? It hadn't taken long at all for Euphie's patience to fray. Fresh start, fresh land, no need yet to grow resigned to apathy or disgust. At least, that was what she kept telling herself. But few things survive first contact with the enemy: least of all, the pure-hearted intentions she could muster. And so far, the sum total of Euphie's interactions with the others had been to weasel through the doors of the lab - find herself caught behind what seemed as a peasants' revolt of yowling children begging for scraps of attention - and that'd been enough for her to promptly march out again. She wasn't ready to deal with such crowds... not yet. The first days were always the worst, the days where she felt the most in doubt, and her doubts brought with them a shielding pall of disgust and hate. At first from emanating from her, and soon enough, inevitably, coming to be reciprocated.

So she retired instead to lean against a crumbling wall in the Pokepark awhile, a ways off from the queues of hopefuls registering their conquering intentions. It was the kind of place she liked the best, far enough that she would scarce be paid mind, but close to keep a trained eye and ear on those she chose to observe. She tweaked the arm of her glasses a little, fumbled in her coat pockets for her cigarettes. The lighter barely had a few drops of fluid clinging grimly to the bottom of the container. Damnit. She'd had to leave so much behind, and it felt as if everything she had managed to sneak with her to Chromis was irrelevant, or broken, or both.

And as cruel as it was to cross her mind, that same observation applied well-enough to Sarin, the Salandit who now quietly scuttled around Euphie's heavy boots, moving in quick circles sniffing at the cobblestone beneath, as if trying to pick up a scent that would never come - even the blindingly pungent odours that Euphie's Skuntank had so often elicited, well, they weren't going to waft across an ocean, now were they?

Hoping to distract her Pokemon from the increasingly-pitiable search, Euphie slowly stooped to pick Sarin up with her gloved hands, holding her in front for a moment. Euphie's hard-fronted eyes making contact with the face of the placid, sorta-vacant looking little lizard. Euphie paused to consider what might become of Sarin then; she did not expect much of anything, but would try to encourage her as best as she could manage, still. "Sarin.", said Euphie with a practised edge of sweetness, "Would you go and scout out the Laboratory, to see if the crowds have dispersed, for me, please?" And setting down the Salandit once more, Sarin scampered off after just a moment, pleased to be entrusted something to do by her usually so-faraway mistress.

The cigarette hung out of the side her mouth, as usual it quelled her nerves a little, one thing but not enough. There was still something missing. Some... itch, always where she couldn't quite touch. Euphie took a closer look at the crowds, and... soon rather wished she hadn't. First there was a girl - yes, a girl, for it seemed as if some errant mother-figure had momentarily failed to keep the creature chained to a post - clad in such gaudy, glittery garb as to induce a churning migraine in all unfortunate enough to witness. And that was before the young beast even opened her mouth! Oh, Gods. Imploring for everyone's attention; before screeching at the top of her diminutive lungs, her prideful declaring that she would rise to triumph. Euphie sucked hard on her cigarette to hear that; it being about the only way she could stop herself from leaping up and pressing this girl, this Ruby into the dust right this instant. But that would be foolish... to challenge now would lead to a pathetic demonstration from both sides, and anyways, the Ruby was a mere child. Children didn't deserve to be struck too harshly for hubris... yet. But give it time, give it time... and Euphoria couldn't help but have an inclination that she'd have the misfortune to stumble across this loud-mouthed girl several times to come... yeah. Then, it would be on.

"Those with the greatest vanity, the most confidence. They're always the most fun ones to see in pieces." murmured Euphie to herself without emotion, as she dredged the spent fag from her lips, carefully flicked the ash-stack from the end... and ground the butt to dust under the heel of her boot. A swift stomp on top of it, just for good measure. Yeah, that all made her feel better. She could see some skirmishing going on as she brushed herself down - the coat was discoloured with dirt and ash-marks for good since long before, but it was still her delusion to keep herself fresh - but Euphie could scarce be bothered to watch it. Her immediate instinct was to dismiss the fighting trainers and Pokemon, brand them weaklings, but she wasn't so delusional as to think that her and Sarin were on a level they could not attain. In fact, she'd probably be poorer than at least one of them, which didn't even bear thinking about!

It's not as if she was significantly older than all of them, but to be unceremoniously sent back to square one after years on the trail... it would take time to accept, fully. It would be no simple matter to reclaim what she had lost - how she had lost it she could still hardly believe - indeed, she'd by now almost forgotten how she'd trained Strychnine and Cyanide to be so effective in the first place.

She shook her head on that subject, cursed incoherently under her breath. "Damn that, and damn this. And where is that lizard. She was supposed to be in, and out again..." She paused a beat to grunt. "Likely absent-mindedly playing with some other Pokemon she came across. I can't blame her for that, but I'd best go after." So it was back into the Laboratory with Euphie once again, and to no small amount of relief, the reception had gone from choked to nigh-deserted in the space of time, save for the Professor herself (who actually looked rather bored with all this as Euphie saw it - understandable), a mangy-looking cardboard box; of the Pokedexes one could guess, and an extraordinarily-uninteresting blue-haired lad currently in conversation with Grevilia. Well, conversation was perhaps honouring it. Rather, he was busy wasting time with physical and verbal fidgeting all at once, stumbling over his words, bemoaning and apologising for nothings... it was rather cringeworthy to bear witness to, but Euphie wasn't so blind as to overlook the fact that she was hardly a social butterfly herself.

Ah, and there was Sarin. Presently nudging the back of the lithe, blue-haired trainer's trouser legs with her long snout. Euphie figured she'd best stride forwards and rescue the situation before the lad became aware of her Salandit's presence, and presumably dissolved into a puddle of his own salty fear-sweat further still. A small mercy, if you will.

Euphoria closed the distance in a few loping steps and chopped straight across the boy's attempts at conversing with the baffled Professor. "Hello, Professor." spoke Euphie almost-haughtily, talking quickly, directly. "You don't know me. I won't waste our time on introductions. A Pokedex, if you'd kindly. I'll be needing it to get my bearings, it'll be put to good use. And one for the boy next to me, as well. Both so he won't come to be lost on the roads, and also so he won't come to suffer a heart failure standing there mumbling, breathing through his mouth. That would be a shame, no?"

Euphoria hadn't really figured it worth her time to bother directly addressing the young man who shared the space across from Grevilia with her, but she noticed out of the corner of her eye that actually, he was far older than she'd presumed going purely off his apparent naiveté. In that case, it couldn't hurt. Besides, the shy ones were always easiest to talk at... talk to, rather. Inclining her head to him, she spoke brusquely. "Hello. Pleasure to meet another trainer. And please don't mind my Salandit, who is... currently trying to lick your ankles, by the looks of things. Sarin's a curious one. She doesn't mean anything by it." And from down by the floor, Salandit let out what seemed to be a few concurring hisses, as she continued to peruse the blue-haired trainer.

@Sho Minazuki Cool dude, in my defence, this site makes things look way longer than they are; at least, when you're working out of spoilers. Biog's only like, 1400 words, which ain't short by any means but it ain't blasting all over the place with detail, either. It's maybe 2 pages in a book. And you're just lucky you haven't clapped eyes on the post Raptor made for another RP a few days back, hoo BOY I was sat there just scrolling, and scrolling, and... it never ended!

Anyways, yeah, Euphie's got a terrible memory for people - especially going from one section of her life to another, she puts most of the old details into the vault, it's irrelevant and she doesn't want to know. Still though, she'll definitely have a vague sense of seeing Talonite before - probably tried to mess with his business in the past even, but given that he's one of the rare examples of a competent Skull grunt - and if they manage to suss out who each other actually are, it's likely not gonna be pretty. He wouldn't be expecting to see her here at all, but she's fairly recognisable given that she's still sporting the dye job from her Team Skull days, plus, that mangy red coat is practically trademark by now. That said, since Talonite got out of Alola pretty quick he might not have caught wind of the fact that Euphie was playing Skull the whole time. Up to Floodtalon if he wants to explore that angle, I'm game for it if he is, but he might wanna just focus up on the future with his char, that's more than fair enough if so.

I'll get introduced, I'll say something about the induction - Euphie likes judging other people, after all - not anything that requires a reply from Grevilia though. Seems pretty much everyone's formed up in parties already, I need to read the last page an'a'half just to be sure on what's going down, unless there's something strange I didn't catch wind of though I'm probably sending Euph along with Ryan Frost, since he's a complete lonerboi right now unless I got that mixed-up.
Ohhhhh my Gooood, I actually got it done. Sorry I'm realllly late on this count, just been that my bloody family just been nuts the past week! I mean, okay, okay, it really ain't their fault. My Dad was sick as a dog and I had to stay at home for the duration just to keep an eye on the guy. And things didn't get better from there! Ahh, what a pain in the tush. Anyways, better late than never... I think. Truth be told, even once I had the time holy smokes was the backstory for Euphie a pain in the tush. Raptor did warn me that my 'quick' bulletpointed plan for it wasn't very quick. And then you've got his fantastic reaction to seeing (pretty much) the lot of it:

Lichthart: keep going?
It's not very good
But it doesn't need to be
I'm too tired for good.

Raptor: I'm not really sure what'll happen in the future, but hopefully it'll be good in the end.

T_T

Anyways... shit ended up way longer than I intended. And admittedly, none the better for it. Ah well, I always was better posting reactively rather than whapping out fat stories by myself.

@Sho Minazuki I'm still coming. Bit of a family emergency the last coupla days to say the least, so I had to smack it on back for a while. I'm getting Ryl in the corner to prod me with sharp objects in what's left of my grey matter and that means I'll be done soon.
Speaking on her past as a trainer, and as something I'll probably continue into Chromis, Euphie's a primarily Poison-typed trainer. However, she'll gladly use anything she can get her hands to so long as it helps her on her way, even better if it bears some tactical implementation for her scheming ways.

Back in Alola she used effectively (and pretty much only) a duo of Skuntank and Grumpig, but was forced to leave both behind due to events during the somewhat-abrupt end to her time there. On that: I'm pretty near to done on the app, I just had some trouble thinking about how her story would fit in to begin with; I didn't want to go too wild or unfeasible but nor did I want to play it too safe with the well-trodden ground of leaving town and family to come of age - considering what a nucking futter you'll see she is (Edit: to be honest I still think I'd have to give the point for sheer genius/insanity to Ruby, but I'm sure they'll come to get on like a house on fire... as in, people running around in all directions screaming, emergency services being called...), that in itself would perhaps be equally strange.
Ohhh, God. It's been all of 2 days, and it already seems like we're bound to be getting Growlithegate going down in this RP! Hahaha.

Edit: Oh, and while I'm here. Just to clarify, my oncoming trainer and co-ordinator; Euphie, will be using a Salandit. Although, I don't really mind if anyone else wants to double-up on that.

She's technically a character I wrote for a Pokemon RP @MechonRaptor worked on, well over a year gone now. And like so many of Raptor's RP projects, the IC ran to an incredible, earth-shattering zero posts. Yeah my friend, I'm still salty she got packed so ignominiously into the vault! ;) Luckily, this is a fantastic time to resurrect and reinvent her. Not that she was a thing in the first place, but now she will be!

By pure coincidence she has some common ground with Talonite's heritage, although unfortunately she's less-so rough-around-the-edges, as Talonite is, more like... outright malignant. Well, we'll see how things go!
@Sho Minazuki Yeah, thought you might've! Gotta admit I'm fairly jealous of that, I'm not the world's worst drawer but that doesn't change the fact that my own attempts at map-drawing are so poor that I always seem to end up just reaching for the classic MS Paint and a sarcastic comment to excuse it. Meanwhile, you've already got a great region.

Anyways, that's sweet. It's eye-wateringly late over in my timezone but I should be able to have it knocked-up by the end of tomorrow, the day after that in a pinch. Cheers.
