Hey, Light the Dark here. I'm a mid-30's slightly crazy/somewhat obsessed with reading and writing/cute things loving/fantasy fan woman, with an apparent fondness for massive run-on sentences.
My current obsessions are The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, Monster Romances, Tamora Pierce, Disney, and re-told fairy-tales. (Though, I'll admit, the last three are pretty much always an obsession.)
I like my roleplays with a little (or a lot) of romance: I'm a sucker for fluff and the 'falling in love' sort of romances in RPs. And while I don't mind drama or angst, I like the end of the RP to at least be a bittersweet or happy-for-now ending.

Non-fandom RPs where there's an already created character with a backstory and look and personality for the character 'you' are supposed to be playing. It bothers me so much, particularly when the premise of the RP is interesting.
It's like I'm reading along, liking the idea well enough, then the CS for 'their' chara comes up and it's like okay, cool you already have your character. Then 'and here is you will be playing!'. >.> Nopes.
I feel like part of the fun of non-fandom RPs is working on a new character and building them up and developing them. And I'd get massive anxiety trying to play someone else's character - there has to have been times where the other person has been 'Your character wouldn't do this because I created her and I know what she would do.'
Just write a story then, jeez.

Due to wanting to be creative in some form - and having little inspiration otherwise - I decided to fall back onto a hobby I always enjoyed. Examples of things I've created are below. The majority of the avatars and signatures were created for a forum that had a stricter size limit for avvies and siggies, which is why they are so small. It's my default for signature sizes, but I can make other sizes.
Note: It has been a while since I made most of these. I need to get back into the habit and practice more.

I find, for 1x1s, I like something pretty short and sweet. (Name/Age/Appearance/Personality/Short Bio.) For group RPs, I'm fine with longer ones - that's what I first started RPing with, actually. Theme song and everything included.
I find I'm willing to go even shorter with people I've RPed with before - if I like their style and characters, I might not ask for a CS.
For 'faceclaims', I hate using real people. I feel very weird about it. I'd much rather use a drawing or a doll-maker image. (Preferably the doll-maker for customization options.)
