Thoughts: Do you have 12 pear trees at the end of the 12 days of Christmas? If so, that means you also end up with 42 swans a swimming and 42 geese a laying. And those birds are fierce.

Bio

Hey, Light the Dark here. I'm a mid-30's slightly crazy/somewhat obsessed with reading and writing/cute things loving/fantasy fan woman, with an apparent fondness for massive run-on sentences.

My current obsessions are The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, Monster Romances, Tamora Pierce, Disney, and re-told fairy-tales. (Though, I'll admit, the last three are pretty much always an obsession.)

I like my roleplays with a little (or a lot) of romance: I'm a sucker for fluff and the 'falling in love' sort of romances in RPs. And while I don't mind drama or angst, I like the end of the RP to at least be a bittersweet or happy-for-now ending.

Caity and Kieran

Kieran looked at Tabitha and rolled his eyes, but in a teasing way. He could almost guess what she was thinking and encouraged her to do so. With a nudge and a nose tap Kieran signaled to Tabi to sit down and start sketching. He did not see any harm in her doing this, and drawing may help her deal with the ever changing reality of the situation that was currently unfolding before their eyes. Kieran smiled at her, let go of her hand, and took a few quick steps forward so he could gently tap Caity on the shoulder. When she turned around to look at him, he started to speak, wanting to apologize for how rude he was earlier, and apologize for how Tabi seemed to be a little sensitive. He wanted to explain both his and her actions, but stopped dead short when Caity turned around. It was if he saw her in a new light suddenly, with her face glistening with a golden glow and her eyes shining like brilliant twin suns.

Kieran almost stuttered when he spoke first but remained calm. "Hi...hi. Look I am sorry about earlier, not the best of introductions huh?" Kieran smiled and tried to do his magic calming look. Kieran vaguely noticed the black and red sand dust flowing freely around them, and the soft music in the back round. It was as if his mind, his ever so strongly trained and witty mind, could realize something was happening but he was not strong enough yet to resist.

"Lets reintroduce ourselves, my name is Kieran Hishamie. You said you read one of my books?"

Caity had turned to face him, slightly annoyed that he had stopped her from warning Nico. An apology was nice and all, and she appreciated it - but couldn't it wait? And what on earth was with that smug look upon his face? No wonder he had snapped at her earlier - and here she had let who he was change her mind about it!

She waved a hand in front of her face, knocking away sparkling glitter from the air in front of her. "Uhm, I know who you are. I'm Caity. And thanks, I appreciate the apology, but now really isn't the time... I mean, it's like a glitter factory exploded right now." She would have said something a bit more colorful, but saying a unicorn pissed over everything might be a bit crude.

She turned to walk away once more, but found she couldn't just yet. Caity turned back to the author. "Yes, I've read your books. All of them, actually. Part of the librarian gig, you know?" And Caity honestly couldn't believe that it was this man who had wrote 'Deep Down'.

Kieran forgot he was suppose to be distracting Caity so Tabi could do her thing, ignored the weird sand dust stuff that was all around them, and even forgot for the moment they were in fairy land. Kieran just found himself drawn in, her wit being so charming and her book no how was also interesting. That and fact that she actually read his books was very appealing. He did not normally run into fans of his, even though he had some best sellers, and he loathed it usually when he did. But.....for some reason it was like a veil had been lifted and he just was enamored with what he saw. He didn't......feel different but it was like he saw everything that make Caity amazing.

Kieran pocketed one hand and rubbed the back of his neck with the other. "That's so awesome, thanks for reading my books. My favorite so far is my New Voyage series, but I was thinking of making a spin off or a sequel to my romantic novel "Deep Down". If you want while we are here If I work on anything I can give you a sneak peak."

Kieran hoped he was being charming. He wasn't sure how to go about this, and there was a pounding in his brain that started to develop.

Even ten minutes ago, Caity would have replied 'thank you for writing them!' But now, as Kieran looked at her with that smug smile on his face, the words caught in her throat. "I'm honestly not so much of a fan of New Voyage. It's well written, of course, but you seem to have lost the creative spark that you had with 'Deep Down'."

She might as well be honest with him. "Daniel is a bit...entitled, don't you think? He is the one that struggles the least, his life is the best in both worlds, and he is as much the arrogant, spoiled man at the end of the novel as he was at the start. But you heap praises on him, as if he has the most difficult time." She was starting to see 'Daniel' and Kieran had a lot in common. Self centered and arrogant, with a confidence that was more ego than substance.

How she had let herself be washed away by his writing before was beyond her. How could anything so beautiful come from a mind of someone so full of himself?

Kieran was caught off guard by her comments. He thought he wrote New Voyage pretty well, and Daniel was a very popular creation of his, but she didn't like either? At the same time Kieran only admired her more, he admired how honest she was and straight about her thoughts and feelings, and how she was so open with him even though they just met. "Well....thank you for telling me that. Not many people would so willingly tell me the faults in my creations."

Kieran gave a hearty laugh. "It gladdens me to know I have a reader so confident and honest, it makes me feel like I am writing for good people. New Voyage is my best seller, but if Daniel is such a turn off maybe I should focus on another project you think? What do you think, as a reader, my readers would enjoy the most?"

"I think you denied Sally everything. She worked so hard, and in the end ended up with nothing. As a reader, it was unsatisfying. You have characters come from different walks of life, only to have the rich or well off succeed. It's like that enough in real life - give people someone to root for that isn't an ass." Caity shrugged, and looked around. She still had to talk to Nico. And she wanted to get away from the disappointment of a man that Kieran turned out to be.

And besides, there was something pulling her away from the author. A tugging inside of her - an insistence she had somewhere else to be. "I have to go. It was...informative... talking to you."

Kieran nodded politely, hiding his disappointment. He had though he well written characters and plots, with an ending that irritated fans, made them laugh, cry, basically just leaving them off wanting them more and drawing conclusions of their own. This was all so.......Kieran put a hand to his temple, slightly irritated that the pounding in his head was there at all. "Yes thank you again. If you ever want to talk shop, or want more info on my writing, or just want to give me advice please find me. You are a well spring of good intentions yet untapped."

Kieran gave Caity a two finger salute, smiled, then turned around and started walking back to Tabi who he hoped he had bought enough time.....fifteen minutes should have been enough right?

Caity

Caity walked into her cottage, and stopped in the entry with her jaw hanging open in awe. However this place came to be, it was perfect. Caity almost didn't care that she was clearly going insane or suffering some mass hallucination. Whatever or whoever set up this place, they had matched her tastes almost exactly.

She couldn't help the excited squeal that escaped her. "Books!"

Books lined almost every available wall. The small kitchenette had a cute little dining area with books piled into a china cabinet instead fine china. The living room had a plush sofa and cozy blankets, books all along three walls. And her bedroom was a bright little room with books and trinkets along the walls that didn't have a window. In fact, the only room without books was the bathroom.

It was nearly heaven. If only...

Caity sniffed. She hadn't noticed anything earlier in her excited dash about the house, but she swore she could smell something now. She made her way back to the kitchen. There, sitting on the table, was a lovely - lovely - mug of coffee. Beside it was a french press filled with more. Caity sank down at the table, her hands reaching out to take the mug.

But then she remembered something that paused her hands. What if - just what if? - this wasn't a hallucination or a prank. What if, against all logic and reason, this was real? All the tales of the fare folk said you were not, under any circumstances, to eat or drink the food. Or else you would stay in the fairy world forever.

"Fuck."

How crazy would she sound if she warned everyone? Caity was up and moving outside again before the thought finished. Better to sound crazy and be wrong, than to not say anything and be right. "Nico!" She paused. No she couldn't talk to everyone at once. Who else might listen to her? She looked around for a kind face.

Nico Jensen and Caity George

Collaboration of: @Kyrisse and @Light the Dark

...sure to be another blockbuster hit. Nico chuckled as he finished reading the hype on the movie he was shooting. He was just about to take another sip of his coffee when the librarian came over.

"I know its early, but you can't have your coffee in here."

The actor blinked and looked up. He looked at the coffee in his hand and then turned back to the purple haired woman. He gave her an embarrassed smile. "Oh. Yeah. Sorry. I seem to have forgotten about that rule." He looked at the coffee cup again and considered drinking it all in one big gulp. But then again, the coffee was still steaming hot.

Caity chewed on her lip. Coffee was her lifeblood - if this young man was anything like her, then she felt bad for making him get rid of it. He had seemed polite enough about it. And it was early.

She cleared her throat. "There's a bathroom you can dump it out in." Caity looked around. There was almost no one else in the library this early. "Or... if you drink it really fast as you sign up for a library card, I might look the other way." If it spilled there, it wouldn't do any damage to books, and she had paper towels handy for a quick clean up.

Nico looked at his cup again. He didn't really wanna dump a perfectly good cup of brewed coffee. And signing up for a library card was a good enough trade off for it...even though he wouldn't be around too long to actually put it to good use. "Where do I sign up?" he asked.

"Over here." Caity motioned to the circulation desk. It was the only desk, really. The library was quite small - it was how she could see the young man drinking coffee even tucked into his corner.

Once at the desk, she took out the application. It was the size of a postcard, with spaces for the patrons name, address, email, and phone number. There was also check-boxes to fill out, to show the genera of books one liked to read, along with an optional space for signing up for the library's emails and 'Suggested Books for You' newsletter.

"I'll also need your license, state ID, or Passport." Caity gave the man a small smile. "We need to know you are you you say you are. Gotta make sure we get our books back."

Nico followed her over to the desk, taking several sips of his coffee. "Uh, yeah, sure..." He placed the coffee cup on the desk, a safe distance away from where he would be writing to make sure it didn't spill. He hesitated for a minute before he took out his wallet from his back pocket. He took out his driver's license and handed it over. "Here," he said before grabbing a pen and began filling the application card out. Nicolas Bradley Jensen he wrote in his neat handwriting.

Caity looked at the license, the name not registering for a moment. It was only as she typed it in that something about the name stuck. A magazine headline, from some popular teen magazine they just got in.

Nicolas Jensen:
Today's HOTTEST Star
He's going SUPERNOVA!

Caity let out a cough of surprise, glad she hadn't taken a sip of coffee. She would have spit it all over the keyboard. The young man didn't just look like the teen-heartthrob, he was him. There was some romantic drama being filmed in the area - some award bait film - but she hadn't thought Nicolas Jensen, of all people, would be the male romantic lead.

"Uhm, yes, so make sure you put down an email if you want to keep updated on all the library functions and fundraisers. When you're finished, I'll need your autograph - signature! I'll need your signature." She grimaced. Way to make things capital-a Awkward, Caity.

Nico nodded as he continued to fill in the rest of the application card. Library fundraisers... how did that work? Book signing? Maybe a book reading event? He had never been in one before and he thought it'd be nice to join once in a while. A change of pace. He penned his personal email address on the card and then signed at the bottom. He looked up and handed the card back. "Here...I---" he stopped short, his brow furrowing. The walls were... Are the walls melting? He whipped his head around. The tables, the bookshelves, the people reading on their own tables... everything seemed to be melting, the colors mixing together. "What the hell..." he muttered, closing his eyes and rubbing it. I really should get a lot more sleep... his mind concluded.

It was as if grasping the filled-out form sent everything in a tizzy for Caity. Her heart began to race uncontrollably, and the world felt like it was falling out from underneath her. A...a panic attack? But she hadn't had one of those in years - not even when that hellhole closed and left her without a stable income. It was only when she began to feel dizzy - as if she was on the spinning teacups at the fair - and the world around her was spinning much in the same way that she realized something else entirely was going on.

When the movie star opened his eyes again, he was taken aback. He was no longer in the library but in a forest. Gone were the bookshelves and tables, replaced by rows and rows of trees, vibrantly green and swaying gently to the soft breeze. He looked down and noted that he was standing smack in the middle of what appeared to be a circular patch of dirt surrounded by white toadstool mushrooms. He looked up and noted that the librarian was still there, standing a foot away from him.

The world finally stopped spinning for the librarian. Caity slowly opened her eyes. She must have closed them at some point while being spun about. Once her eyes were open, she noticed three things - first, they were no longer in the library; second, that she was with Nicolas Jensen and still held the application for his library card; and third, the contents of her stomach were about to come up at any moment.

Though things were bad enough as they were, Caity was glad for one small favor: that she managed to turn away from the movie star as her breakfast of coffee and toast came up.

Nico's mind was already trying to come up with all possible explanation on why they were where they were when the purple haired librarian turned away, bent forward and heaved out what she had for breakfast. The smell wafted towards the actor and probably for the nth time in his life, he was thankful that he wasn't a sympathetic vomiter. He reached out and laid his hand gently on the librarian's back. "You okay?" He would have offered her a tissue or something but alas, all he had with him was his cellphone.

"Fuck." She muttered. Of course she had to puke in front of a guy. A guy she didn't know. Who was a movie star. Having little else to wipe her mouth on, she used the back of the card Nicolas had filled out. He'd have to fill out a new one. Of course, that would mean returning to the library. Which... this was not.

"Not really." She answered his question as she stood up, dropping the form on top of her vomit in an attempt to hide it. "I think I'm all done being sick, though. But..." Caity looked around, then glanced at the movie star. "Uhm. I don't suppose you have any idea what happened?"

Nico followed suit and looked around, pulling the hood off his head and running his hand through his hair. "Your guess is as good as mine," When his ears picked up the small fairy voices and his eyes fell on the glowing, flying little forms, he blinked. "There's a really good chance that we might have hit our heads somewhere and are now hallucinating. Are those... fairies?"
