The two Demons were finishing off their last kill - a single female adult with two younger humans, when a two wheel metal and a human came along, making quite a racket along the way. The moving metals were loud creatures.

The two wheel metal tripped on a hole in the ground and tossed the human off, significantly injuring the human. Kill… Their instinct to kill, their want to see blood, heightened immediately as the human’s blood was brought to the surface of his skin.

One Demon, a later-spawn, extended its claws immediately and leapt in front of the human, lowering its head to inspect the human. The human was greatly weakened by the fall, and the early-spawned Demon let out a high-pitched screeching noise. The signal to kill.

The later-spawn lifted both its arms into the air and brought them down onto the human.

Roads were a good hunting ground for Demons, as they were one of the only ways humans and their moving metals could travel. Five demons, a whole pack, simply had to wait until some humans came by. And come by they did.

In this small moving metal was a younger human with two four-legged protectors. The youngest of their pack, the later-spawn, was the one that got the honors of attempting to destroy the moving metal.

Moving metals were irritating though, as they are a significant source of protection and tend to be difficult to predict. The moving metal tried to run but tripped, and the four-legged protectors were making noises at the Demons.

Now was time for the kill. The protectors would have to go first. The demons split into two and three, three towards the protectors and two towards the human. Claws extended, they lunged.

Kenneth

Clinking noise… The Demons might have heard something that indicated a human nearby. Three Demons were scouting an area littered with dead moving metals, strangely enough they did not decompose, when the powerful scent of a human reached them. The later-spawn immediately leapt up onto a medium moving metal for a better view of the area.

Now this was strange. The smell of live human was here, but somehow it smelled… Muffled. Like a human inside of a moving metal, where the scent of the moving metal’s waste overpowered the scent of human.

The later-spawn let out a low scrrrrrrroo in confusion as it leapt off the van to consult the early-spawn.

Something moved behind the moving metal. Human!

The human was covered in black material. That must have been what covered the stench. That would not stop the Demons from killing.

The human let out a loud noise and began to run in the direction of two buildings. The black material seemed to melt off the human as soon as he touched the light of the sun and the smell of the human exploded at once, triggering the bloodlust of the Demons. Kill!

This human had many metal shooters, which would be high danger levels if the human got up somewhere high. Just as the human was running the later-spawn was hit three times; once in the arm, once in the chest, and another in the chest. It fell to the ground, realized that metal shooters were a danger, and immediately got back up and began to chase its prey.

Claws extended, the three Demons chased the human into a dark area. Ignoring the black material re-forming around the human, they surrounded the human before he could use any more of his metal shooters. The Demons first aimed to destroy his clothing, as that was what was containing most of his metal shooters.

((Kay I got mine, Zombeh, and Music's battle response up. Battles don't have to be walls of text, you can have small paragraphs, as this is a turn-based event.))

September

I stood at the edge at the putrid stink bubble soon after eating breakfast to re-contemplate my options. Sneak attack? My fingers methodically tapped each of the metal throwing needles I had strapped to my waist and both thighs. All hidden, of course, until they were needed. One… Two… Three…

I quickly shook my head to erase the numbers. When I got bored I tended to count numbers or repeat meaningless words in my head. I haven’t had a good slaughter in a while, I continued to think, sliding my hands into my pockets. Exhaling a breath of air through my teeth, I tried to deter the small grin asking to form.

I could use Golden Eagle’s Spear… Or I could go ShadowSwift Weasel… Oh, the options are limitless… I leapt off the tree and onto the soft ground.

As I made my way towards the Demons, backpack hidden in a tree, hands in my pockets, I felt for the little tugging in my head. Over the days its transformed from a slight tugging to a firm pulling to nearly a dragging sensation from time to time. Sometimes, when I concentrate, it almost feels like a slight compass in my head. Sometimes I can almost… Feel where the other Hunter is moving, and the pace, and perhaps the terrain she’s currently in. This Sense is definitely powerful.

The smell of the Demons was growing, and strings of black mist began to trail off my hair in retaliation. No… Not going to go offensive. I can go ShadowSwift Weasel to throw my needles.

The Demons knew I was here now. I could just hear them making that piercing, yet somewhat quiet, screeching noise they make. I assumed it was a way for them to communicate.

The mist thickened with each step I took, and the parts that touched the sunlight proved it to actually be a deep indigo colour. Soon, I couldn’t see through the mist at all.

Now this was the strange part of my powers. I don’t feel the transformation, I can’t even see it. I just walk out of the mist and then…

I had shrunk about two inches and my hair was shorter, shaggier. It was now solid, inky black, the colour had left it, and the roots of my hair now traveled down all the way to my lower back and extended into a long, thin, semi-flat tail. This was my rudder system.

Oh my back was four slim wings delicately arched outwards, sharpened edges, and long, thin feathers. My body was now slimmer, more streamlined, and ready to take off at a moment’s notice. In each of my hands was a dangerous black needle - and I let them both fly.

Nathan

The Demons were bounding, leaping, atop and around broken vehicles and cracked ground like demented kangaroos. They began to extend their blackened and blood-stained claws, reaching in front of them as if anticipating the feel of cutting them through human flesh.

They steadily communicated through those rasping screeches of theirs, perhaps sharing intel such as human weak points, and which end of the shooter to avoid. This human had a small shooter, rather high danger level from afar, and a medium metal sharp, a medium-high danger from close up.

The Demons were completely physically identical. Their bodies were bone-thin, and would be considered emaciated if they were human. Their skin, the colour of dried blood, would start off smooth as a baby’s bottom. As a Demon begins to fight and gains wounds, the wounds will heal over the next day, leaving mangled scars behind with no lasting damage.

Their eyes are sunken holes, it’s a wonder they can see at all.

Their ears are sunken holes, it’s a wonder they can hear at all.

They have no nose, simply two slits to smell with.

And then their mouths, crusted with dried blood, filled to the brim with shark-like teeth and long saber fangs are the focal point of the face.

Two of the demons ran in front while two ran behind them, almost like a crude defense tactic. The two in front would be human, er, living shields, possibly sacrificing themselves for the benefit of the other two.

Finally they reached Nathan.

Della

This Demon was traveling alone, as his… “Allies” had all been killed by the moving metals, metal sharps, and some other assorted, crude human weapons. This human here was a female of its species, perhaps not too powerful. The Demon uttered a screech, a reflex upon meeting prey, and began to give chase.

This human had no weapons, and was simply running into a wide open field. How silly. There was no way to hide here.

It continued to call, almost as if hoping another of its kind would respond. Claws extended, teeth showing, it dove at the girl. She made a screeching noise of her own and ducked into the grass and it swiped as fast as it could with his claws - left, right, left, right. Bits of grass and flowers and dirt sprung up, and it made contact with human flesh only a few times. Not lethal damage, but it could almost taste the blood it spilled.

Now that you said that I can sort of see what you mean... Yep, you're in the clear.

Now for my little friend KayleeDuck...
Row, row, row your boat
Gently down the stream...

September was singing as she walked. Her accent, her quiet, breathy voice, and the way her eyes flickered from person to person, bush to bush, house to house, made her look very eerie indeed. As the girl sang, she thought of today's haul.

Mr. White was having an affair, wasn't he? September had been quite suspicious of him for a few weeks and had crept around his classroom, 3B, and managed to overhear a conversation. The details of that conversation? Let's just say that she knew Mrs. White wasn't into any of that.

Well, see, September didn't actually want to ruin any marriages. She stuck her tongue out past her lips to prevent an uneasy grin from forming. She liked to gather intel, to know things, to write about things, but she had shared very, very few pieces of information.

In her left hand, deep inside her black shorts, was her trusty little notebook. In it contained so much gossip she often thought about burning the little devil so nobody would find it and freak out. She'd never go through with that, of course, but it was interesting to think about all that intel turning into a little pile 'o ash. In her right hand was two, wait, three, erasable gel pens. She fiddled with both items and withdrew her tongue.

The last time she encountered an issue like this was when Sander cheated on his girlfriend, Veronica. Made out with Betty under that tree that he and Veronica always hung out at. September was writing in a tree next to them and was interrupted by the unmistakable sound of eating face. Hurk. It was never a good sound to listen to.

September had hoped it was a one-time thing for Sander, but as the weeks went by and Betty and Sander took it… Further, September knew she had to tell Veronica and also listen to a lot of heavy metal to make sure she didn’t remember anything that happened that day.

But Sander, Betty, and Veronica were only juniors in high school. Mr. and Mrs. White were adults, with steady jobs, one kid, and their lives were pretty much all figured out. Was it really her place to ruin their marriage?

Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily
Life is but a dreeeeeaaam…

September drew out that last word, keeping her teeth together and feeling the vibrations of her voice on her teeth. The urge to grin in discomfort was there again and she wanted to deter it.

The girl didn’t realize how fast she was walking until she nearly tripped on a cat. Holy mother- Unlike some people, September tended to walk faster, up to a jog, when her mind was someplace else.

She avoided the cat rather easily, though it had startled her. She couldn’t remember any family that had a cat. Is he new?

The cat was an orange tabby, and he was currently racing towards a large building to September’s left. It was the hospital where… Well, it was just a hospital, really.

Obviously, September decided to follow that cat.

Kayleeee you're getting ahead of yourself! Remember your post must end before any Demon encounters. And Demons did not turn from humans, they just appeared, like from a hidden vortex that you will never find.

Shoryu, you're also getting a tad ahead. You aren't supposed to actually have any "interactions" with the Demons yet. Perhaps you're standing face-to-face with a Demon, perhaps you're nearing their territory, but you should not be fighting or running from them just.

After you all post your "encounter" post I'm suppose to play Demon and begin the fight. Y'all agreed on the "elaborate" discovery, right? Or at least, the majority did, which is why I went for the elaborate one. The encounter, discovery, then escape is supposed to last 2-3 posts minimum.

If I was unclear in my previous posts I am sorry...
