I'm interested I've just got a few questions. I noticed Fortune isn't in the base Arcana list, problem is the character I had in mind really fits the Fortune Arcana, a kinda goes with the flow type of character, one who does what they can do, but isn't overzealous about things. One who takes the hits life dishes out and keeps going, that's what I believe the Fortune Arcana is most attuned too. So is there no way I could use it?
Naturally I'm in, but we probably need more then just us 3.
Garret waited patiently while his master prepared food for herself, it was not essential for dolls to eat so Garret seldom did so. She was finished about a half hour later, returning to the foyer, the doll himself was wearing nondescript black pants, sleeveless shirt, and brown boots. The only thing interesting was the dark brown waist-cloth that was held in place by a simple leather belt. Garret looked his master over and had to admit, she looked good, not ready to face possibly life threatening situations as the pair very well might, but good. What happened next cause the doll to howl in laughter, "Bwahahahahaha!" Tears forming in the man's eyes. "That poor lad certainly didn't see that coming! I almost feel sorry for him, oh well." He approached Angelina and placed his hand on her shoulder, hopefully giving the girl some amount of comfort. "Don't worry so much, come on we've got patrolling to do!" With that he swept her off her feet, dashing out the door and leaping to the nearest rooftop.

From there he jumped to a higher roof, and kept doing so until he reached the highest in the city. The doll stared down at the cityscape below, piercing blue eyes searching for any form of Puppeteer activity. His attention was drawn to an abandoned warehouse down by the wharf, a Puppeteer or another doll was expending enough energy for him to sense them. "Better hang on tight." He told his master as he jumped from the top of the building all the way down to another that was about half the size of the first.

It only took a few minutes to get to the warehouse "Help me! Please someone help!" The sound of screaming came from inside. Garret set down his master, turning towards the rotting building. "Stay here, I will go deal with whatever is in there, then I'll be back." With that he purposefully strode to the door, slipping in between the small opening. Inside he found a woman, ragged with whatever remained of her clothes in tatters with blood running from a few superficial wounds. She ran across the middle of the floor as a man with a katana slowly walked after her, a tall, thin man with spiked white hair and odd markings on his skin. Of course Garret could easily tell it was a marionette.

The woman tripped and fell allowing the marionette catch up, the monster gave a taunting grin, revealing lines of razor sharp teeth. "What's wrong? Can't run anymore? Well I guess it's all the same to me, I was growing bored of this little game of ours." It's raspy voice sounded as it raised the sword in it's hand. "Please don't hurt me, I don't want to die!" the woman pleaded, cowering with her arms raised above her head. The monster appeared to think about it for a moment, until it regained it's grin suddenly bringing it's sword down on it's victim's head.

CLANG!

The sound of metal hitting metal as the marionette brought down the sword with enough force to cleave a boulder in half. The monster's features contorted to confusion as it looked at what had stopped it from enjoying this woman's death. Garret was standing between it and it's victim, his crossed arms now covered in metal gauntlets with spikes on the knuckles. "You! A doll here?! Damn it!" The marionette tried to flee, turning around and running only to find the doll awaiting him at the entrance, a smirk on his lips as he delivered a powerful roundhouse kick that send the monster flying into the nearest wall, denting it with force of the impact. "I'm afraid I can't let you do that, you see you were about to kill that poor girl, and I don't take kindly to that." The marionette sneered as it got up, wiping blood from it's mouth as it charged at the doll blocking it's escape, sword pointed forward. Only to be deflected with an effortless swing of Garret's arm.

The smirk was replaced with a scowl as Garret slowly walked towards the monster in front of him who was backing away at an increasing pace. Finally the marionette hit a wall allowing Garret the opportunity to quickly grab it's throat, pulling it's face close to his. "Fare thee well, puppeteer." With that he started pulling, first an arm, then a shoulder, then a head. Finally the entire miserable being was out and the former marionette was slumped on the ground, unconscious. "Please! Please don't hurt me! I'll do whatever you want I swear!" It's already raspy voice was worse from the doll's hold on it's throat.

"How ironic, didn't that woman say the same to you? Why should I spare your life?" The doll didn't wait for the answer that was on the Puppeteer's lips as he tore it to shreds, absorbing the lights that it's body dissolved into. It was power, a method of getting stronger that the doll was all to familiar with. Garret walked out of the warehouse, woman unconscious in his arms, nevertheless he gave his master a sad smile. "Well that's that." Was all he said, thinking about what to do with the poor woman in his arms.
Kazuki slowly sat up, his hair sticking up in at least three different directions. The young man yawned loudly, stretching like a cat. "I may have promised, but that was before I found out I had an exam tomorrow. Anyway, let's go try that food. Maybe it will change my mind." He let Rosalinda lead him to the, rather large dining room, he took a seat at the table and waited patiently as she brought him a plate of whatever it was she made. Kazuki didn't look too closely as he started eating, starting slow but quickly picking up his pace.

He stopped briefly, sparing his doll a glance, observing how she seemed to naturally be bouncing on her feet, as if it where her natural state of being. How can she have so much energy? Even watching her just makes me tired..... He caught the expectant gaze she was giving him, so he slowly and deliberately swallowed what he was chewing. "It's adequate." Kazuki deadpanned as he wiped his mouth off with a napkin, taking the plate to the sink to rinse off. "Thanks for the meal............Where would you like to go?" Did he want to go anywhere? No. But his heart wasn't entirely stone, and besides he could use an hour or two of not studying to help him focus later.
I figured Talbot would interject by now, or SOMETHING would happen.
Rachel didn't like this guy, she REALLY didn't like this guy. He's too smart for his own good, or at least he thinks he is. Makes sense as he fancies himself as a researcher or something. The tactician crossed her arms at the Dark Mage's would-be threat. She was almost positive between her and Talbot that anything this man could hurl they could return twofold, in fact she almost wanted him to try it, almost.

The tactician's eyes narrowed by the end of the man's speech, her mind produced a counter rather quickly, one that would hopefully expose his true intent of whether he meant to harm them or not. "Well, since you have so helpfully outlined all relevant information, what do you propose us poor, defeated Shepherds do? Surely you don't expect us to trust strangers who know who we are, even if they claim to mean us no harm. So tell me, from our perspective why would we even consider taking you with us? Why couldn't we just kill you for the supplies and be done with it?" Hopefully his response might shed some light on what it was he truly wanted.
The last light of day flitted in through the window, shinning peacefully on the sleeping forms of Garret and his master, Angelina. Though the former lying awake and had been so for about an hour or so before Angelina began to stir. The doll merely answered his master with a smile as she indulged in their embrace. But alas, it would not last as shouting from downstairs reverberated into the small room, daring Angelina to challenge the shrill, reprimanding voice of her own mother.

Garret sighed and disappeared into thin air, becoming incorporeal as his master dealt with her parents. He couldn't help but overhear the shouting match downstairs as his master defended her choices from her somewhat over-bearing parents. The doll winced as the door slammed shut, the loud bang echoing with finality. Angelina stomped back into the room, not even noticing his apparent absence as she asked, what Garret could only assume was a rhetorical question. Though clearly he wasn't meant to answer, the doll couldn't help but play the angel on her shoulder.

"Did you have to be so short with them? They are your parents after all, and they only want what's best for you. Besides they do raise a few good points. Chief among them being, why is it that I have my own room when you insist on bringing me to your bed?" The doll wasn't as fond of that as his master clearly was. He was a knight for pity's sake, not some stuffed toy to cuddle! Though it would be a lie if he said it wasn't enjoyable....... Garret cast aside that thought immediately, she was his master, his charge, his means to protect the innocent people of this city. Still, there was something to be said about how warm her embrace is....... The doll cast aside that line of thought faster then the first, instead deciding to ask a question of his own. "Night falls Master, and I would like to patrol, will you accompany me this night?"
Kazuki slowly awoke with a groan, exhausted from not only his lack of sleep but the sheer amount of energy he was forced to use in order to ensure the woman beating him with a pillow actually behaved herself. In fact the reason he was sleeping was that he had been up all night and most of the day studying for his exam tomorrow. The young man's bleary eyes glanced at the glowing red numbers on his clock. "7:00 PM? Why didn't you just let me sleep until morning?" He had only been asleep about 2 hours and now Rosalinda wanted to go somewhere? "We can't do anything tonight, I need sleep. Maybe tomorrow after my exam." His response was deadpan, or as deadpan as it could be whilst half-asleep and hoping like hell this was a nightmare.

That was until his nose caught up with his brain, the dancing aroma of wonderful food causing his stomach to growl quite audibly. Kazuki's eyes opened again as he gave the doll a inquisitive look. "What smells so good?"
I have a tentative interest, after all Dark Souls. Though we'll have to see how my scheduling works out.

Also, heya Nevis! Good to see you again.
Rachel's attention was called away from Luna to the commotion going on at the crest of the dune where three of their number had been gathered earlier. She stood and motioned Luna to follow her, approaching the trio from behind. "Talbot, what's going on?" The Tactician quietly asked the Dark Mage, already making assessments as she gathered all information based on observations.

For starters the trio's body language suggested some amount of danger, as such Rachel's hand drifted to where she kept her Elthunder tome. Her eyes darted to the stranger approaching, his body language didn't seem hostile but she hadn't seen or heard whatever it was that put her comrades so ill at ease. She made a very quick judgement, if things were to progress as they were someone was going to get hurt, and no one has the energy to waste in this heat. She placed her hand on Talbot's shoulder. "Stand down for now, let's see what he has to say before you fry him." With that she addressed the newcomer, stepping forward with open arms.. "Hail stranger! Come here so that I might speak with you without the shouting and hostilities!"
"Hmmm, I see." Rachel responded, she could tell there was more to this girl then what was readily apparent, but then again the same could be said for most everyone. The tactician grinned at the gestures the girl was making, How does she have so much energy? she thought herself as the heat sapped hers constantly. In fact, Rachel was having trouble focusing on the girl's words, just making out the question on the end. "Hah, my story isn't an interesting one, just a woman in the military who sought to do good. Look where that led me." The tactician spread her arms indicating their current, seemingly hopeless situation.

A brilliant tactician I am, can't even think of a way to get out of this desert without us all dying of thirst. She thought bitterly, despair slowly taking it's hold on her thoughts. Rachel could think of naught to do to improve their situation, only to keep trudging on. However they couldn't until Kai returned, a Shepherd is never left behind. Would they ever make it out of this desert alive? Would any of them see the end of the week? These are the thoughts that taunt the young tactician as she desperately tries to think of a solution or strategy to survive.
Rachel smiled at the girl, Luna. "It's true I would be cooler, but this coat is my mark. The symbol that shows all of my training wasn't pointless." The tactician accepted her canteen back, gratefully taking a swig herself. With a smile she thought I like this girl, so full of energy even in the crippling heat of the desert. And then took another measured swig.

Rachel gave a cursory scan of the perimeter, apparently the Dancer had joined the Priest and Dark Mage, and Kai still wasn't back. "She shouldn't have gone alone...." She muttered to herself. Her attention returned to Luna to answer the girl's question, and to return one of her own. "Well Luna, my name's Rachel. Tell, me what are you doing with the Shepherds? How long ago did you join?"
