Do you think me a fool to shed light on my past, present and future so easily to strangers, you miserable Midgardians? Not even my brother - blundering oaf that he is and more importantly, not blood-related, thank the Allfather for that small mercy - knows everything I have done.
And these few words are all I shall grant to sate your thirst for the unknown. Now if you would excuse me, I have to destroy Jotunheim...again. Because some pests simply REFUSE to surrender and remain dead. Sounds familiar, doesn't it?
I think half the fun is actually gaining experience and "leveling up" and all that through hard work. I agree with you that OP protags can be fun, but then having them let's say being able to manipulate all elements at the very beginning and then being able to level a city five chapters later is a little over the top. It saps the adventuring fun out of it. Also, having said that, will you be including stats, leveling systems and all that to this Rp? Or would you be going for the simpler learning each stage of your abilities a little at a time?
Also, how do you plan to draw lots for abilities? Using a dice system, random generator, etc? (Sorry for all the questions ^-^" )
"Store Management" doesn't sound too bad. I can think of various ways it would be a good support ability for a group.
Just FYI to whoever cares, I made a little editing to my Master sheet to include her dissecting scalpels. Because she certainly doesn't rip sacrifices apart with her bare hands (as nice as it would be, she doesn't have the strength).
Name: Amon R. Brandt Age: 35 Race/Ethnicity: German Supernatural Race/Species: Half human, half were-tiger
Height: 190cm Weight: 89kg Eyes: Dark emerald and heavy-lidded, giving him a rather intense stare especially when he makes an effort to intimidate Hair: Black, thick and spiky, his hair reaches just past the nape of his neck and his right eye is usually concealed behind a thick clump of fringe. Body Modifications: No piercings, but has the number thirteen in Roman Numerals (XIII) tattooed in black ink on the right side of his neck with the bottom at his collarbone and the top of the tattoo halfway up his neck. Distinguishing Marks: N/A (just the tattoo, the top can be seen even if he wears a fully-buttoned collared shirt Clothing: He likes to wear a two piece suit in hues of dark blue and black, including the tie. His shoulder holster lies beneath his suit jacket. On colder days/nights, he wears a dark trench coat over his suit.
Personality: Amon is mild-mannered and a hard person to offend, waving off insults and jokes in an equally offhanded manner, as long as it is directed at him only, of course. Quick to banter with people he has been acquainted with before or anyone he is comfortable around, he is the sort of man that is easy to befriend, work alongside and open up to as long as he is not being his typical lazy self, which usually rubs some people the wrong way. He works best when sufficiently motivated and/or under pressure. If not, he is pretty lax and uninitiative until a superior gives him a command.
However, he is serious when he has an objective to work towards and will do whatever it takes to complete it. Amon believes that the law is right, and rules are placed there for a reason. He hates it when people try to find a way around it, twisting it so they will come off as innocent when they are clearly not. As someone working for a law enforcement organisation dedicated to protecting peace, he will not hesitate to use his authority to do what he thinks is right, may the culprit be human or supernatural. This attitude has made him an enemy in the eyes of some extremists supernatural beings who dislike him for not following his supernatural blood and fighting against humans, making him rather paranoid at times. Of course, his paranoia is justified in that he has to be very careful what he says and reveals in case he is ousted as a Supernatural and making him a target for Hunters like some of his unfortunate colleagues. Of course, he has been lucky so far, but luck eventually runs out, no matter who you are...
Because of his position and experience in Law Enfocement, he has grown to be rather perceptive and inquisitive. While this trait has gotten him into quite a few tight spots and trouble, it has proven to be invaluable when trying to avoid detection and suspicions.
History: When the first of his supernatural friends - a Dreamwalker by the name of Cilicia - was killed by an unknown murderer, Amon was nineteen, a recent graduate of high school and starting his first year in the Police Academy. He is the only child in the family, born to an ordinary police officer who now works as a mall's security guard and a chauffeur mother. For the first eighteen years of his life, his family was as normal as they could be. They were mostly absent from home, coming back in the evenings to either a cooked or bought dinner and catching up with each other during that short period before Amon would excuse himself, finish whatever work he had to do and head to bed. Life was repetitive, bland and mundane as can be, occasionally broken by rare days off or overseas holidays.
Amon grew up listening to the stories his father used to tell about his days in the law enforcement, the gory and simply inhumane things some people were capable of. From a young age, he dreamt to be like his father, working in the police force, keeping innocents safe and doing the righteous thing. Putting criminals behind bars and ensuring nothing befell the city he loves. When he was seven, he discovered his unique 'abilities' when a friend pulled a prank on him and trapped him in a school's storeroom. Despite the utter darkness, he could see as though it was merely evening. He went to school, read books and from listening to conversations all around, he knew it wasn't normal to be able to see in the dark. But that was not what scared him. Claws, sharp, shiny, long and protruding from beneath his fingernails made him scream in utter terror. The hollers drew his teacher, who took one look at his unnatural hands and merely sighed, shifting into a large wolf for a second before shifting back. Amon calmed down and as his shock receded, the claws retracting a second later. That became the little secret between Amon and his teacher, who disappeared a year later and her body found abandoned along the highway.
He kept quiet about this, living as though he was a normal human student. That was, until a month after his nineteenth birthday, the death of a friend of his, and coming back home for the summer holiday to his parents fighting. His father was yelling at his mother, getting more and more agitated by the second before fury made him lash out at his mother. It turned out his mother was a were-tigress, making him a half-were. His unnatural abilities started to make sense. This revelation did not sit well with his father, who proceeded to ignore his mother's existence and even began throwing judgemental looks and snide remarks at Amon. For half a year he ignored the sudden change in their household, attempting to mend the rift between his parents and himself. However, every attempt was shot down rather spectacularly by either of them. He gave up, losing himself in the Police Academy instead. The previously warm house became cold, and Amon began to see the world in a new light. He could see the light distinctions between humans and supernatural beings, personally bore witness to the aftermaths of several violent and bloody skirmishes between the Supernaturals and Hunters more than once. Little by little, as he worked his way up the chain, he began to classify people into four groups: the Hunters - ones who knew about Supernaturals and aimed to kill them. Two: the humans - oblivious individuals sometimes caught in the crossfire. Three: the Supernaturals - non-humans or humans with supernatural blood running through their veins who actively fought against the Hunters. Four: the Uncaring: those like him, whether humans or Supernaturals who are well-aware of the clashing factions but wants no part to do with it. Of course, there might be people who fell into none of these categories, but as far as he was concerned, these were the four main ones.
It was these conflicts that prompted him to enlist into the Crime Division for Mysterious Cases of the police force. To his utmost surprise, there were quite a few 'Uncarings' amongst them. In this Division, he was able to slowly come to terms with being neutral despite his mixed blood. He was twenty-four when he made his first arrest, a Hunter that was caught killing a presumed Supernatural. Since his victim did not change from human form in death, he was convicted of murder. That was also the year he moved away from home and got a tattoo of the Division number (XIII) on his neck.
Now at the age of thirty-five, he remains single, more scarred, paranoid and cynical than he was before, although he never lost his lax nature. An Inspector in the Division, he heads a relatively small team of twenty officers, and often work together with the friends he made over the decade as a peacekeeper.
Extra equipment: A .44 magnum tucked in a belt holster at his waist that is constantly on his person, as well as a trench knife tucked in the left sheath of his holster. Other Form: Since he is only half were-tiger, he cannot change into a full animal. Racial Abilities: The only thing that sets him apart from normal humans is his retractable claws and ability to see very well in the dark. Magcal Ability: N/A Strengths: 1) Enhanced speed, smell, agility and stealthiness due to feline heritage 2) Ability to see in the dark unlike the humans he works with 3) Since he is half-human, he wouldn't go crazy over catnip, shiny objects, bright lights, etc Weaknesses: 1) Easily startled by sudden loud noises (although he has learned to curb showing his surprise through facial expression, the jump of his heart or minute jerk of his muscles gives him away) 2) He has an irrational fear of large bodies of water (again, most likely due to his feline genes)
Welcome all your interests, kind of happy got three people within the first like 4 hours, probably fastest I've gotten people.
I was thinking of doing an idea like Kumo Desu ga, Nani ka? but decided against the monster idea at lest for the first roleplay. I do enjoy those stories though because it can be totally interesting at what happens. I haven't read a lot of Kumo I will emit, atlest the light novel version since for me it's a bit harder to get into since it feels bit to vague on some of the combat releated scenes. Planned to go back to reading it though, I was reading the Manga since it was easier to get into, haven't read past the second encounter with the earth dragon. Tend to look all over novelupdates.com for various stories that involve anything with 'reincarnation into another word' 'game elements' 'leveling' or 'reincarnated into a monster'. about 75% of the ones I've looked at has actually been good.
I've read at least 80% of manga/light novel that revolves around this idea of people being reincarnated or transported into another world. So whichever you go for (reincarnating as a normal human with power, as a monster, as another species, etc), I would be all up for it. The best thinga bout this kinds of RP is the world and characters/NPCs within that you can interact with. There's lots of possibilities to explore and even if you get a weaker power, there's room for "leveling up", or learning how to take advantage of it. (Unless, of course, your ability is "being able to cook really well" or something along those lines.)
All right, so I'll team with [@BuggleGumKing] then. That's no problem.
Also @vancexentan if you take into account Francis Drake, then Davy Jones would be similar in that she has a ship for a Noble Phantasm. But whatever, ultimately it's up to you and BubbleGumKing to reach a compromise ^-^
@vancexentan I believe @Grey is mastering Caster, unless I am mistaken. I haven't really been keeping track of who was going with who, but that's what I have down for Caster's Master. But if @BubbleGumKing don't mind mastering Caster and Grey doesn't object, then I'm all for it.
Also, in the case of Davy Jones' Noble Phantasm, the Reality Marble might be the most appropriate, because Davy Jones' Locker, but maybe not summoning the tide or the like. Or if that's too Op, then make it a "Territory Creation" skill like my Caster. But if you do that, then I don't know what kind of Noble Phantasm he would have. Maybe summoning the spirits of his crew or the like? I dunno. Just putting in my two cents.
@Feisty-PantsI am surprised how many people became suddenly interesred in this role that's been advertising for 2 weeks lol.@Loki Odinson
The way I did this in the interesr check was if there was more than one person who was interested in the role, then they all make a CS and I review them. I then would choose the concept that I think would fit this story the best.
It's ok. I reckon I would have my hands full with Project Crossover and a few other RPs when they get started. If the others decide not to do it, then I will take this on. But if the guy who has already posted the WIP sheet is keen on this, I'll bow out. (P.S: I actually checked this out a couple of day ago but was reading through the info thing ^-^" )
Sounds like we have a plan. thanks for staying onboard.
No prob. I've been wanting to engage in a Fate/Stay Night RP for quite a while now since the one I was in died out. And I invested quite a bit in creating my characters, so heck yeah, I'm going to stick around :)
