My work schedule just completely changed for the worse, so expect me to be less active, unable to run my own RPs, but I should hopefully be able to keep myself in other people's RPs.

Housed in an extradimensional space, with connections to any and all universes, The Tavern welcomes all, accepts all, and sometimes even houses all. Owned and run by professional multidimensional barkeep Hans Jaeger, The Tavern was designed as a place for all beings to come in, have some drink and a meal, maybe stay the night. Hans refuses all payment, as everything is formed into existence by himself. He merely has a few simple rules, so long as you follow them, you are welcome. So come in, have a drink, and stay a while. Okay, so this is an RP where any and all characters are welcome, from any and all universes. This is meant to be a place to practice character interaction, as such, fighting of all kinds in forbidden while inside the tavern, and killing a patron means a permanent ban from the tavern for the offending character. Anyone may join, and make posts of any skill level. All CSs are accepted, in any format, and you may begin posting in the IC as soon as you've posted a CS. So welcome to The Tavern, and enjoy.
@Redthorn AnvilBasically any character that you want to practice interaction with, post the CS once the thread is up, and start posting IC. ATM, this thread is for testing general interest in the idea, and determining which section to place the thread in. I was thinking Free Roleplay, so that newer people aren't discouraged to join in.
The Tavern is a tradition from two other roleplay sites I used to frequent, and I want to bring it here. The Tavern is an extradimensional location, reachable from any and all points in time and space. Anyone and Everyone is welcome, so long as they abide by the rules. The rules being that fighting is not allowed inside the Tavern, and killing another patron is forbidden. No payment is accepted for services, and when someone leaves, they are returned to their point of entrance. The focus of this RP is to try out characters you've made, see how they interact with other character types. All that is necessary to join, is that you post your character sheet in the thread, and make a post. Any character sheet format is allowed. Anyone interested in making this happen?
My plan was to do a Dark Sun campaign using the 3.5e third-party sourcebooks found Here. Myth-weavers for sheets, of course. I would be open to homebrew, so long as it fits the setting in question, and I have a 2-3 homebrew rules of my own to address if/when this takes off. So, any takers?
Name: Corporal Caius Langston Race: Human Gender: Male Age: 26 Class: Imperial Guardsman, Recon/Vox Operator Equipment & Weapon:
He is primarily armed with a Scoped Roth Pattern "Lightning" Lasgun, allowing him to fill a role of Designated Marksman, in between that of infantry and sniper, it is modified so that the scope sits above the top of the gun in a manner that still allows the integrated sights to be used. He has an Autopistol as a Sidearm, given to him by his father upon graduation of the Espurn Recon Training Program, two standard issue Frag Grenades, and a survival knife that doubles as a bayonet. Generic gear includes a Vox Caster unit, capable of reaching across the surface of most planets, and even ships in low orbit, an Auspex scanner for detecting enemies in close ranges, and a pair of magnoculars for scouting, on top of the standard issue guardsman gear for most planets. His uniform consists of camouflage fatigues with light flak plates integrated into the cloth of the uniform, with a flak-reinforced Patrol Cap, emblazoned with the Imperial Aquila, on his head.
Appearance Description(text and/or picture):
Caius has a rugged appearance, due in part of his extensive wilderness survival training as part of an Espurn recon unit. He keeps a short, but ragged beard, and scraggly, short brown hair. He's very lean, and somewhat muscular, in fair part of carrying a Vox caster on his back almost constantly. His skin is a light tan color. He is around 5 feet and 11 inches tall, with a weight of around 185 pounds.
Traits(optional): Caius is very tough from years as a wilderness and recon scout for the Espurn 115th Recon Regiment. This has also made him an expert at stealth, CQC, and marksmanship. However, all this time spent in the wilderness without anyone to interact with besides his 2 former squadmates, so Caius is very lacking in regards to social abilites, and general casual conversation. Biography(character backstory):
Born on the Imperial Forest World of Espurn, known for both massive amounts of wood-based exports, and some of the best Wilderness Recon and Sniper regiments, trained to supplement larger multi-world Guard forces. Caius, like most males, was raised with the plan of enlisting with the Espurn Guard. He didn't spend much time on education, just enough for the basic reading, math, and writing. Once he was old enough he enlisted. He graduated top of his class in Basic Training, and in the top squad after being designated for Recon training. During Recon training, he showed exceptional skill at Designated Marksmanship, Vox Operation, and Forward Observation. His skill earned him the NCO rank of Corporal. To reward him, his father gave him the family Autopistol, passed down for generations whenever a son graduated into the Guard. He was soon later deployed for 4 years before being brought onto the task force.
Notable Deeds or Accomplishment(optional): He once was able to warn a large force of Guardsmen about an impending ambush. The force was able to flank and rout the cultists in question, ending the battle far earlier than expected. He was also able to kill an enemy cultist leader from around 800 yards away, managing to highly extend the average range of his gun to pull off the shot. This shot earned him the nickname "Laser Pointer" in his squad, to compliment the infamous "flashlight" nickname of the lasgun. Caius has found recently that (highly exaggerated) versions of his achievement have begun to spread throughout the Guard forces, surprisingly enough. One such version had him portrayed as a Catachan sniper shooting from over 2 miles away, and another as a Cadian Whiteshield who got promoted to Sergeant almost immediatly afterwards. He's very quick to correct those who he encounters telling this story.
Caius initially had no clue why he was being re-positioned to a task in Solaire 2. He had been pulled from a joint-training program on Cadia, working with guard regiments from over 200 worlds in order to synchronize tactics. He was brought aboard a frigate, made a somewhat smooth warp jump to the system, then rode to the surface in an elegant shuttlecraft. He made sure to have his four years worth of service ribbons, and his two medals emblazoned upon the chest of his uniform fatigues. The first medal was the Senior Marksmanship medal, awarded after he pulled off a seemingly impossible shot with his lasrifle. The other was a Distinguished Service Aquila, awarded when his scouting skills prevented the loss of nearly 1 million troops in an ambush. He also kept the autopistol awarded to him by his father holstered to his hip, and his Roth Pattern Lasgun and other supplies in a duffel bag. He admired the massive city-world of Solaire 2 as the shuttle landed, unaccustomed to such large buildings and constructs. He knew this would take some time to get used to. Caius admired the Planetary Governor's home as he was guided through alongside several others. He kept to himself as he walked, wary of the others. When finally asked to introduce himself, he snapped to attention and saluted for a short moment, before relaxing slightly. "I am Corporal Caius Langston of the Espurn 115th Recon Infantry Imperial Guard Regiment. I've served four years as a Recon squad Vox Operator and Designated Marksman, and have seen combat on many worlds, including spending half a year on Armageddon, to assist with removal of Ork combatants in key areas. It is an honor to meet each of you." He saluted once more before taking a seat quietly.
