...I felt like I wrote down what I was thinking earlier that day and got everything out how I wanted...

That is, hands down, one of the absolute best experiences you can have as a writer. To be able to write down what you've seen in your mind and have it do justice to your vision. Which I guess sounds super pretentious (it speaks to my vision, man!) ... but you know what I mean.
Turns out the solution to a sudden and immense onset of writer's block is to bang your head against a desk until the ideas and blood start flowing out. Who knew? Writing something that isn't crap, finally. Hope to post in the next day or two.

Also looking forward to hunkering down and reading Iri's debut post as well, @Sohtem!
On second thought, I'm scrapping that and trying a different approach.
Small post. One of those ... "for fuck's sake, why can't I write good, fuck it, just posting it to get 'er done" ... scenes.

Next one will be less rumination, more excitement. I promise!
<redacted, for terribleness>
Still alive, still chipping away at the post. For whatever reason, this one's causing me no end of trouble.
Managed to write an entire 74 words! And scrapped much more. One of those days, evidently.

@Dark Wind -- Haha. I'll concede that. The Vader scenes (and dialogue) were pretty much spot-on.
@Dark Wind -- I read that one right after Ep III; both were part of the "Dark Lord Trilogy" along with a second Luceno book. I firmly believe that they should not have bundled Luceno's novels around Stover's. That did no favors to Luceno, like, at all. Not that they were bad books, but they felt ... much more perfunctory than Stover's. Like he was going through the motions without necessarily being invested in what he was writing. Much less ... present, engaged, as if he couldn't really picture anything he wrote about. It made his books more of a struggle than a breezy pleasure.
@Dark Wind -- Not bad. I'd say 7 on the Vader Scale. Maybe an 8-VS depending on cadence!

On the subject of Vader, has anyone else read the novelization of Episode III? That ended up on my reading list during the trip and it blew me away; in just a few days Matt Stover has gone from being "that guy who wrote one of my favorite EU books" to "that guy who is one of my favorite authors". Picked up 'Heroes Die' after Ep III and it only increased my respect for the guy's prose prowess.
Just got back into town so I hope to get back to writing tomorrow. Want to get through the next bit before the end of the week! Been working my way towards it for what feels like forever now.

Will also be catching up on the posts I've missed. Looking forward to seeing how everyone's storylines are progressing!
