Can't beat my own demons, so I beat up fictional ones instead. It's fun!

There could be a hundred hours in a day and I still wouldn't get around to half the things I need to do.

Something about winter makes me want to curl up on the couch, wrap myself in a blanket, and join way more RPs than I have time for.

This is the kind of site where you think about it every day even if you haven't actually done anything here for months. Or is that just me?

Bio

Luminosity

Hey there! Thanks for stopping by. I'm Luminosity, but feel free to call me Lumi or Lum. If you're here, I suppose that means you have some interest in me, my writing, or in roleplaying with me. Here's a bit about me and my preferences. In general, if you want to talk, about RPing or anything else, just shoot me a PM. I always try to make time for new friends.

About Me

Basics

I'm in my 20s, female, and currently trying to figure out how that whole "being an adult" thing works. I've been roleplaying on this site for a while off and on, but in general I've been roleplaying for over ten years, here and there. I'm on US Central Time currently.

Writing Level
My writing level on this site varies from casual to advanced, though the sweet spot is usually around 3-5 paragraphs per post. If I'm feeling inspired I tend to write kinda long posts, so be warned. I've never been a free-level roleplayer, and writing that little per post is typically something that makes me lose interest.

Activity
I love RPing, but I am busy quite often, and so my posting rate will vary. Sometimes I'll be able to post multiple times a day, and sometimes I won't be able to post more than once a week. Please keep this in mind if you'd like to RP with me. Also that more applies to 1x1's, I do my best to be consistent if I'm joining a group RP. My normal writing times for RP are first thing in the morning or somewhat late at night, but sometimes I can squeeze posts in during the afternoon.

Preferences
I'm mostly into fantasy RPs with a good dose of adventure and action, especially dark fantasy settings. In terms of mature content, I prefer a certain level of realism, and I'm totally fine with language and gore (I actually really like writing fight scenes). I'm happy to write romance, but I really prefer not to force it or have it be the main focus of a roleplay, but rather something that happens naturally if it feels right for my character. I've never written smut/sex scenes without fading to black, and it's not something I'm especially interested in trying. I enjoy group RPs as well as 1x1's, and while I've GMed in the past, I don't do it very often now, due to stress and time constraints.

I really only RP as female characters here, as that's just my personal preference. I write all kinds in lots of genres in my personal work, but I RP here to simply write what I enjoy most. I'm fine with taking on minor characters or NPCs of any gender if the RP needs it, though.

Games

Do You Play League of Legends?

I used to! You can probably guess who my favorite champion is. I haven't played in a long time, though, since I was never very good and ran into one too many unpleasant online experiences. I still follow the game for all of the amazing art and characters it produces, and I'm interested in the upcoming titles in that universe that aren't MOBAs.

So What Do You Play?
Lately? Apex Legends, Mortal Kombat 11, Final Fantasy (VII, VII Remake, VIII, XII, a real FF trip lately), and Resident Evil 3. Honestly, not a lot lately, just haven't had the time/interest in anything for a bit.

That's about it! Thanks for the interest, and if you want to get in touch, don't hesitate to send a PM my way. See you around :)

Glad you guys like her. I went ahead and added 100 years to her age. Still super young, but hopefully a little less of a baby now, haha.

I've never played a character with any kind of eyesight problems before, so this should be interesting.
Elise stood as Valence did, still shakily, but with more strength now, enough to keep herself upright. Her posture was still wary of him, unconsciously tense. She truly believed now that he would not hurt her again if she did not try to strike at him, but still, he was the man that had killed her mother, the man that had unleashed his magic upon Elise herself and ended her life. That she was only tense currently seemed a small miracle.

None of this made any sense to her still. Elise hardly thought their choices had been similar, as Valence's choice to attack had not been provoked by violence on her family's part, whereas Elise's futile efforts were driven by a desire for justice, or as many would see it, revenge. And now he wanted to take her home? Her confusion was evident on her face.

"Why have you done this?" she asked. "Not the murder, but... why am I alive again? I didn't even know such a thing was possible." It almost left her out of breath, the fact that something so rare and remarkable had happened to her.

"I could feel... something, thoughts, emotions, I don't know. In my head. Yours. What's the purpose of this? Why would you take my life, only to give it back, and then let me return?" There had to be some other motive, but she feared to learn what it was. She didn't trust Valence not to magically bind her to his will or something, or alter her mind without her knowledge, or whatever else his magic was capable of.

But just letting her go? She didn't intend to question the gift she was offered, but after being killed by the man, she was understandably skeptical.
Hi! I'd be interested in a medieval fantasy RP if you want to brainstorm something. I like a lot of the concepts you've included. I've got to run now, but send me a PM? I'll try to introduce myself better a little later tonight.
Here's my character. I don't know too much about Lord of the Rings lore beyond the movies, so apologies if I screwed anything up. Tried to keep it basic. Anyway, hope you like her, and let me know if I need to change anything.

Name: Calariel
Age: 174
Sex: Female
Race: Elf

Appearance: (Reference Image) Calariel is of average height, with a slim, lithe build. Her most notable facial feature is her eyes, which are a milky pink color. Her face is youthful and feminine, her long hair a shade of auburn that runs to the middle of her back.

Class: Hunter
Equipment: Elvish bow and full quiver, dagger, elvish mail and leather armor, small brown cloak, a small tent, backpack, tinder box, week's rations, blanket, bandage x3, lock pick.

Background: Calariel was born in Rivendell, and from her birth she's been forced to deal with a rather unique and mysterious defect with her eyes. They've always had their milky pink color, and while she isn't blind, her sight is severely reduced up close, rendering everything near her extremely blurry, impossible to make out. Conversely, her farsight is even greater than most elves. Calariel can see things at a distance with excellent clarity and focus. If it's within her line of sight, no distance is too great for her to see.

Her poor sight negatively impacted her social development while growing up, and as a result Calariel is very quiet and shy, or at least uncertain of her communication skills. She grew to love the wilderness around Rivendell and came to serve as a scout and outrider, where her long-distance observation could be of use. Over time, she came to rely on other senses up close, specifically her hearing and smell. They don't make up for her poor sight, but they at least enable her to function. And her skill in archery is among the best of the elves.

Some of her elders think Calariel is just young and brash, but she still hopes to make a difference in the world, rather than recede from it, as the elves seem to be doing.
Still planning on a character, just got held up with end of the school year and all. Should have her ready tomorrow. Probably going to be an elf hunter now.
Elise remained seated, pulling her knees up to her chest and wrapping her arms around them in a futile attempt to keep the cold away. As she listened to him, foreign emotions tore at her, and collided with the ones she already felt. They shared sadness and loss, but his was of a different kind, for Valence was in a different stage of grief. Elise was still consumed by anger in the wake of the tragedy, anger that had only built when she had a target to direct her efforts at, doomed though they were, doomed as she had been.

His grief was more crushing, more destructive. Elise knew that she'd likely be able to recover. As he said, she still had her father, and she had a strong spirit. Compassion had driven her to violence, but in time it would drive her back. All assuming she hadn't met her end at Valence's hand, of course, which it seemed he had gone to great lengths to ensure she continued to exist.

She felt tears sliding down her own cheeks, but they felt invasive, and she wiped them away, frustrated. "You're right," she managed, with half-choked breath. "You are a monster."

It wasn't his fault, she supposed, what his history had turned him into. He saw no other choices, where Elise still saw many, with him settling on the most despicable course. Their experiences were wildly different, though, as were their upbringings. But she couldn't see his choice as anything other than selfish, petty, malicious, desperate. What happened to him was horrible, but it did not justify what he chose to do next. She did happen to think it was something of a foolish plan, too, more likely to align the Vale with his enemies than anything else.

"What would you have us do?" she questioned. "Throw our army against a superior enemy on foreign territory? I'm sorry for what happened to you, but I believe grief has twisted your mind. As it twisted mine." She ran her gloved hand through her hair, a golden mess at this point. "I never should have come here." Easy to see in hindsight, but part of her had known her death would be the result of trying to fight such a man, and hadn't cared.

"You may not have hope for the future, but I refuse to succumb to that. I suppose it doesn't matter what I think, though." For she was, for all intents and purposes, a dead princess, heir to the grave. Perhaps she was still dead. Elise hardly understood her current condition. She'd been dead, Valence said, but she felt alive. Her heart beat steadily, her lungs took in air, her limbs ached, and her belly cried out for food. Alive, but... not the same.
I'm interested in making a character, if there's room for one more. Would be a human female hunter, I think.
Well, on top of everything else, I've gotten pretty sick. I apologize for disappearing, between my last months of school before graduation and trying to do really well on the job opportunity, I will admit this (everything on the site to be honest) slipped pretty far down my priorities list, and frankly it was probably a bad idea to push the 1x1 thread in the first place.

Either way, it's pretty obvious that I need to mostly step away from the site for a while. Probably at least a month, until I graduate and don't have to worry about school anymore. We can either put this on ice and try to come back to it this summer, or call it.

I'm really sorry about this.
