Marina was sitting on the sofa in front of the TV with Symphonia on her lap, she was going from channel to channel, searching for something interesting to see. Her dad wasn't home, so she had every light out and the curtains were closed, involved in a pitch darkness, with the only thing that stood out were her eyes and Symphonia's camera eyes. She stopped her constant surfing through the TV channels and stopped right on the news program. "So, that shows again that you shouldn't speed through a red light on high speed, because you will get hurt. Back to you in the studio, Hiroshi." She saw the incident and hugged Symphonia even tighter. "That's why we'd rather walk, right, Symphonia?" She says to her teddy bear. "I'd better clean my room and take a bath before dad arrives." She stands up from the sofa she had curled in and turns the TV off with the remote controller. "I also need to prepare lunch." She is still hugging Symphonia as she goes upstairs to her room.
As she opens her room, she crouches to take the little paper that just fell off the door as she opened it. "Dad didn't enter. It's better if he doesn't." She puts Symphonia in the center of her bed and sits in front of the little desk she has in her room. She pulls out the little drawer just below it and takes out of it her pink covered diary. Marina then proceeds to take her necklace in which she has the key to the diary and opens the heart shaped lock. "Let's see in which page I'll write today..." She goes through the pages she has already written and stops in the page in which she should write today. However, it is already filled. "What?" She reads the entry.
April 21st
In school:
Not much happened today. I talked a bit with Riko-chan after class, she even invited me to hang out in the afternoon, but I didn't want Symphonia to get dirty. Should I have gone with her?
In house, 16:14:
After watching TV for a bit and seeing that some guy killed himself after running past a red light, I decide to go upstairs and clean my room. I don't think more will happen today, so I'll be writing this now and a little more after dinner.
In my room, 16:20:
.......
As Marina was about to finish reading the whole entry, she heard a child like giggle. "Huh...?" She turns around and sees a little girl throwing Symphonia into the air in a playful manner, Marina gets totally red as she sees this. She stands up immediately and goes to where the girl is. She takes Symphonia as the girl hurls it into the air. "W-W-What do you think you're doing?" The girl grins as Marina unnerves. "Don't be so worked about it, I'm just here to tell you about the diary." A big smile draws in her face. Firstly, the girl introduces herself as Muru Muru, an assistant to a god, which has given her diary the power to predict the future. "Now I can read the future?" Muru Muru shrugs. "Well, yeah, but you still have just a half-baked explanation of your diary, Fifth. The real explanation will be given by Deus." Muru Muru says and snaps her fingers.
As Muru Muru does so, her whole room changes, transforming into a dome like thing, though that thing didn't last long. She winked and after that, she was already in a circular platform, floating in the air. 'What is this thing?' As she was thinking that, she saw her surroundings, grasping Symphonia even tighter than before. 4 other floating thingies were unoccupied, but soon were, and the skeletal looking guy in the center started his explanation. He was Deus Ex Machina, the one who gave her the ability to see the future, as well as other eleven guys. The objective of it was to make a 'survival game' in which they had to kill each other, and the one last standing would become god. Marina was shocked by this turn of events.
She returns to her bedroom, hugging her teddy bear as strong as her body let her. "I don't want to become god..." She sits on her bed and takes Symphonia between her hands and puts it in front of her, to see it face to face. "But, I also don't want to die. What should we do, Symphonia?" She gets her ear near the bear's mouth and starts nodding as if the bear was actually telling her something. "Uh-huh. Oh, yeah. I see! You're right, Symphonia! If I can win and become god... Maybe I'll be able to bring Mama back! That's why I love you, Symphonia!" She hugs the bear. "You're so intelligent." An evil grin forms in her face. "And no one will ever suspect of a girl holding a teddy bear... I hope."
