The world has moved on, the apocalypse or whatever happened already happened, this is the aftermath. In a world where Dragons used to coexist side by side with magic, gunpowder, and cowboy boots, human flesh have become a treasure. There are less humans than there were before, less anything after the massive storm that changed the world. Everything is scarce, from resources to morale, to human dignity.

Our story picks up in the town of Thrivenshell, the least damaged human settlement in the entire Krankton region. In this town an assortment of characters are leading their lives, either surviving together or living off each other. The town is pretty big, with a population of at least a thousand, it used to be triple that amount. The town has it all, from weapons, runes and commodities shops to bars, schools and a couple farms.

After exhausting most of the resources in town, the town Mayor, Baron Garef, has decided to send parties to go out and scavenge the deserted world for materials, resources and new survivors to integrate into their community. The outside world has a lot of interesting adversaries, from extreme weather conditions, to mutated creatures, aggressive monsters, savage bandits and rumors of the dead trudging the land of the living again. It is up to the parties that the baron chooses to maintain the well-being and unity of Thrivenshell.

Premise and gameplay

In this RP you will be playing as a maximum of 2 characters, they can either be residents of Thrivenshell, outsiders surviving the harsh lands of Krankton, or even people outside of the Krankton region! (Just ask me.) For now you may only play as human characters, this is a low fantasy post-apocalyptic western, and I intend this to be very gritty with a bit of dark humor. If you are going to be a resident of the town, regardless of what role you are going to take, you are going to start in the town for IC reasons. If however you are going to be a character that lives outside the town or in another region, you may begin wherever.

The weapons in this RP should be grounded to the norms of a western low-fantasy, so no advanced weapons or exotic magical spears. This is the wild west with a middle-earth twist, and it happens to be post-apocalyptic so be creative and sensible. As for magic I won't make it easy for anyone to have access to it, so let's say where going to have just one character with magical ability, and maybe two that have a few tricks.

The main story of this RP is going to be revealed in IC, other than that you may create your own side-stories and lore that other playeres may choose to follow and engage in, this is an RP where you are free to follow the main story, the side-stories or even just wandering and surviving around.

rules

I don't want to talk much about this one, be sensible and follow the rules an RP would usually have. Respect people IC and OOC, don't play god and don't be annoying. I am more lenient on creatively bad players than annoying players, but still don't play god. The posting pace is this: If you get this RP dead once, chances are I'm killing your character for good, this is the wild west middle-earth, you won't witness mercy. Any questions or suggestions? PM me or drop it in the OOC.

Character Sheet

POST THE CHARACTER SHEET IN THE CHARACTER TAB, IF ACCEPTED IT STAYS, IF NOT YOU MUST ERASE IT.

>Picture< Stay away from Real Pics and Anime, also stay away from amateur artwork.

You may add as much categories as you want, this RP's character sheet is VERY flexible as long as it serves to enrich your character's creative image and lore.
@AtlasRedfox

Absolutely! More than welcome!
@TheWinchester4@oakman@Sabotage@Pundii

Alright I think we have a good amount of folks to kick-start this RP! I will start working on the OOC shortly, until then try to think of your character and their backstory (in a rough sketchy manner)!
@TheWinchester4

1,2) I would say nothing too extreme, there is enough weapons laying around, but ammo got to be scavenged and it is very much treasured. And perhaps a weapon maker or two survived the apocalyptic event. And I am very open to creative takes on traditional weapons, but remember this is a gritty western, so nothing too cheesy or fabulous.

3) Yeah there are a lot of horses around, and maybe some mountable creatures, but horses remain to be the most reliable and known mount so far.
@TheWinchester4

Think of this as more of a low-fantasy western post-apocalypse, there is no technology at all. There is no electricity, or even heavy steam-engine usage, this is a gritty low-fantasy western. Magic here is rare, and it is not very magical in the high fantasy sense, and it is frowned upon in most communities. I believe in this world an average person wouldn't have knowledge or access to much magic, someone has to have been through training in order to gain magic control and usage.

There are a couple dragons still kicking, but they are hard to find and they are quite dangerous. They can speak the human tongue and they are quite intelligent. Most of them took a hiding in the highest mountains, away from the harsh conditions of the world.

There are numerous settlements out there, but they are either less developed as communities (ie. bandit camps, survivors hiding out..etc) but nothing as big as Thrivenshell town. The world is completely devastated, like in the OP, everything is scarce including humans themselves.

As for races we will stick to just humans for now, other races like goblins and orcs exist, but they have never made contact with humans as much, they have their own hidden communities.

Just in the mood for this exact sort of RP, count me in please!
I just bumped into this and it is an awful lot interesting, however should I be familiar with the manga to be able to participate in this RP? I could read the manga in the short time it takes this RP to launch, but just in case, should I really?
