WIP
Name: Roarick Giant-mauler
Age: 47
Gender: Male
Race: Ursine
Appearance: Roarick is a large Ursine, large even by some of their standards by standing at a height of nine foot tall flat. His fur is thick and heavy, hued a deep, dark, mahogany. His eyes are a deep green, a shining verdant green enclosed by an evergreen circle around the outside of the iris. His height is only bolstered by his brutish design, his muscular body and mountain-side like endurance make him a towering opponent or ally. Among the Ursine his features are considered great, and powerful, however other races would surely look upon a gnarling Ursine as himself with hatred or fear.
Personality: Roarick is not the chief or a leader of the Ursine, he is merely a warrior, a hunter, and a father. He fights alongside his kin and he values much of what his kind stands for as a whole. He has walked many lands in his time and accomplished his share of feats for honor alongside his people. He enjoys the thrill of the hunt, the fight, the adrenaline that pumps through the body and the release of primal instincts. These call to him, more so than to many other Ursine. Despite his affection and care for his wife and son, as any creature would have, he hungers for the most basic of Ursine designs and he relishes every chance to indulge in it. He will protect his kind without a second thought, he will lay down steel and stone to ensure that which he believes in and cares for is protected until his very last roar.
Biography:
Weapons: He wields a pair of large War-axes which are designed by the Ursine for the Ursine. This makes them too hefty for any human who isn't trained specifically for large weaponry, and their power is what makes them perfect for an Ursine. They are hefty, but not without their finesse as a warrior's weapons. The blades are sharpened to an edge that can fillet fish with ease, and are robust in their blade length. The blade curves up and down from the span of the head, leaving the mantle of the blade to create a marvelous round edge. The blades are then etched and carved with Ursine figures and words, either in name of the weapons, or in memorial to their purpose for being smithed. Roarick also wields a weapon for defense, a mighty shield. This Bulwark which he has carried for decades is a tower shield that he carries upon his back until it's use is needed. It's design is that of a simple, totemic-carved tower shield, made of the hardest Redwood Timber the ursine could find for Shields. The shield was then bolstered and bossed with Ursine smithed steel and quicksilver, to create one of the most durable, stalwart, shields a warrior could carry without magical meddling.
Equipment: Roarick carries a menagerie of equipment with him that compliments him well, as well as that of which is the basic's for any Ursine and Hunter. He carriers a rather large Waterskin made of a Stag's leather and cow stomach for the interior lining. The craftsmanship saves the waterskin from leaking it's contents extremely well. He also carries a large band of rope around his torso, which spans about twenty-five feet. Rope to most seems unusual to carry, but for a Hunter and an Ursine, it is an all purpose tool. He also carries, in a small knap-sack that hangs from his belt, a small piece of wood about four inches by four inches with Ursine symbols on each edge of the wood, a single symbol sits in the center of these edges, and a ladle-like bowl is along with this board. The pair make the earliest form of Compass. The naturally magnetized ladle has it's bowl filled with water and sat on the board, the short tail of the ladle then affixes to the magnetic north-pole as a compass should do properly. This knap-sack also contains a handful of crafty resources, such as: Twine, Arrow-Heads/Metal-Teeth, a pair of hunting knives for skinning and cleaning kills, a tinder box with a tiny steel rod and a small vial of "Sparkle-Powder", and lastly it holds a carved piece of Lapis Lazuli, this piece is roughly the size of a locket, and has a small carving of Roarick's mate's name.
