Rattling, the doorknob turned. Norma whined and backed away. She hadn't gone unnoticed.
The first hinge fell to the floor, rolled to her feet. She, likewise, landed on her bottom and slid into the far wall of the bathroom, trying to protect her head with her arm. She cried out as the door finally fell with a clang. Behind, the young masked man with wild eyes. Exiles wouldn't hurt each other, would they? As the door vibrated from the impact, she held her hands over her head as instructed, eyes tearing up.
"Please don't hurt me, I'm like you," she offered weakly. Turning her head away, breathing rapidly, she noticed someone new step into the empty door frame.
Thanks to the ring in her ears from the blasts, she couldn't quite make out what was said except "Christ." More than trying to get a good look, she began scooting closer in an effort to find a decent escape route. Unable to understand the motives at play, why these Exiles were here at the same time, why this one was violent, it hurt her, but it seemed that this place would be yet another unsafe to stay. After escaping, she'd have no choice but to move on.
