here's a thing
character templatesyou have the choice between
fortuna or
human. multiple characters are a possibility, especially if you choose to be both halves of a human/fortuna alliance
The Fortuna are not living creatures, technically, but a collection of twenty-two fundamental concepts that have taken on a semblance of humanity due to an odd quirk of the universe's insistence on balance. Although the Fortuna's history goes back as far as history itself, they were officially codified and given names in the medieval age--what we know now as Tarot. The Fortuna now compete for the opportunity to have their influence raised above their peers and become the reigning god of this universe.
Name: Many Fortuna have given names that differ from their respective Tarot. Given their... eccentricities... however, these names tend to be something like "whatever sounded appropriate at the time."
Tarot: You've got 22 choices. No repeats!
Allied: Every Fortuna needs a human to ally with. However! There's no need to fill this out immediately, unless you intend to be Allied right at the start. This field can be properly filled in after the RP has started and Alliances have formed. You may be allied with your own human character, someone else's human character (everybody make sure everyone agrees to it!), or even an NPC if need be.
Appearance: Written or illustrated, I'm not picky. As Fortuna have selective visibility to normals, it's not necessary to have a human appearance, though many tend toward a humanoid form for convenience (you try operating human technology as an adorable blue-furred corgi).
Goal: As the physical embodiement of a concept, all Fortuna have a very definite idea of what they think the world needs, and a one-track mind for acheiving it. Feel free to think big here: this field represents what your character would do if they were literally the ultimate authority over the universe, and will be common knowledge to your fellow Fortuna. On a smaller scale, Fortuna tend to gravitate toward acting in support of this goal wherever possible; a Fortuna whose ultimate goal is to wipe out the world and start over with a clean slate, for example, might find herself tending to encourage revolution (especially of the sudden or violent variety).
Aura: One quirk of being an immortal concept shaped like a person is that a Fortuna's mere presence is an influence on the world around her. Explain what sort of fortune your character tends to herald.
Other: Everything else you'd like us to hear, including but not limited to: fixations, rivalries, anecdotes, etc.
The humans of Hundreds City are a diverse lot. The city, a sprawling metropolis located in the vaguest part of America, attracts individuals from all over the world and typically ranks among the most populous cities on the planet. As a result, there really is no "typical" citizen here; Hundreds come from every kind of background imagineable, and are employed in occupations as diverse as tattoo artists, dancers, university professors, to baristas and waiters. If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere.
Name: This should require less explanation than the Fortuna template.
Allied: Not every human needs to be allied with a Fortuna, and if this is the case just use N/A. You may be allied with your own Fortuna character, or someone else's Fortuna character (assuming everyone agrees to it!). NPC Fortuna may be considered in the future.
Boon: For allied humans. Receiving a boon from a Fortuna allows one to accomplish any number of impossible feats. A boon may be as simple and direct as the ability to fire energy blasts, or it could be as cunning as the ability to read minds. This boon is yours as long as you hold your card, and is generally activated through this card (i.e. firing an energy blast by aiming your card at the target).
Appearance: I think we all know more or less what a human looks like. Illustration or written, I am not picky.
Goals & Motivations: Unlike Fortuna, not all humans have firm goals and a one track mind. Nonetheless, describe what motivates your character, or where they see themselves in five years; or if they're an immigrant to Hundreds City, their reasons for relocating.
