Name: Richie Barret
Age: 15
History: Richie was a young boy set on the life of a delinquent and criminal from early on. Being unwanted by his own parents and any potential guardians due to some of the less than ideal events of his birth that he had no control over, he was a ward of the state. Not exactly the kind of situation that inspires growth and kindness, Richie had issues with anger that presented themselves in his schooling and 'home' life, getting into fights and talking back to others. If something didn't change that he would soon find himself in a juvenile jail at the age of twelve.
Luckily for him, someone decided to give him a chance. One of his foster parents decided to give the anger within Richie an outlet with an admittedly strange method They introduced him to video games, obviously more defunct then what was available at the time, Richie still found himself entranced by the worlds and stories they told. He especially grew attached to the heroes because they were like him. They had nothing at times, came from nothing, but they always fought for others or for what was right.
This stuck with him when he received a copy of the Deep Ground Program at age thirteen. The first time logging on was like nothing he experienced in the other games, this time around he was the hero. Or to himself he was. There were monsters to fight, but he found he could also attack his fellow players. 'To be cruel or kind?' became his personal mantra as he tried to maintain his upbringing to his new beliefs, he kept himself in check for the most part, but found that he had no choice but to fight at times for both survival and levels.
Salvation from this moral conundrum came in the form of the Ivory Masks, or more specifically the White King. She had strict rules and guidelines that fell into his lines of thinking, and there would actual consequences if he strayed from them. There was also the added bonus of avoiding unwanted fights due to the guild's more fanatical nature. Of course, once he was settled into the group, he found himself feeling more like a henchman to a more malicious hedonist cause than first impressions gave off. He was in too deep to really quit but he could get stronger for when the chance presented itself.
Unfortunately he never got the chance to deal the White King any blows, as she died outside of the game. Chaos followed her death, m
any of the guild revolting due to the nature of their structure. Richie had no one to help him this time, the delinquent turned hero wannabe turned follower decided to take charge for once and began to stamp out much of the unrest. He took the position of White King for himself, erasing the previous King's legacy and instilling the guild with his own ideals: Redemption and a bright future to all who seek it on the road of ivory, death from the king to those who would disturb that.
Personality: Richie comes off as brash hot-headed young man at first impression. Stubborn and bullheaded, it takes him a while to admit he made a mistake of any sort, but when he does he owns up to it. The same goes for asking for help of any kind, confident in his own abilities and skills, if it's out of his control however he will ask for assistance. Generally it is quite easy to set him off into a rage, but it is also just as quick to calm him down. As per his fascination with heroes, he genuinely cares for the people he's supposed to look out for, as well as trying to still better himself in any way he can.
But I'll show them all what I can be!
