Erä is as old as the world itself. He is the one who gave life to the nature of this world, together with his brother Tavon, at its moment of creation. Originally they were both deities of wild nature and animal life, but when his brother changed, Erä pulled ever more strongly to the wild.
Erä has a dislike of order and structure. He teaches some the ways of the wild, to hunt, to survive, to communicate with animals, but only those he deems worthy. Those who are lost in the wild, those who wander alone and reject civilised life. The most devoted of followers may even be giving the power to choose their form.. and after death, enter the eternal hunting fields beyond the edge of mortality.
Erä is sometimes seen but more often heard by mortals. His horn echoes across the edge of the wilderness.
Erä loves his brother, but also carries a great grudge against him. Erä feels as if Tavon betrayed him when he taught the first mortals to cultivate the land. There is an ever going struggle between these two. They are there, at the edge of untamed forest and farms of gold.
