Good thing they locked that High Casual Rant thread because I was on the verge of making it a Spider-Man thread.

I have a Deviantart account for my art now. Please don't go to Deviantart if you don't have to. It makes me sad that there will always be a furry version of literally anything you create and it will always look better.

@GuntherAlright well I bounced around on Google images and I can't find any that seem to make sense. I found something that looks like it would make sense but idk if it would in a city, unless the stables are outside. Frankly I don't particularly want to give a description of it so I might just wait for the GM before making that paragraph a little better.

@JbcoolI'm not going for a stereotypical English accent at all. I was leaning towards something more subtle. Vocabulary-wise I like the idea of just using modern English. Accent-wise, I don't even know at this point. "Sharp English" just meant modern English.

Basically Matt Kirshen rather than Andy Wood in the first ten seconds of this video.
Well I want him to sound interesting, but not tacky/cheesy. I've seen too much British comedy to know where the line is.

Also, gotta say, my most recent post is really weak, especially the last paragraph (not the last line). It's all too flimsy and the scene isn't set very well, mostly because I don't know what the stables look like and I'm too scared to assume.
Cedric jumped as a hand descended on his forearm. He twisted around and found himself staring into the cheeky grin of Sposoletto, who proceeded to pronounce his surname as carefully as possible. Cedric blinked a few times, trying to draw his mind away from the task he had already set in his mind to give the man attention he requested.

ā€œIā€™d feel safer with an extra archer in my lance today, and you were a farm lad, si? Do you feel like a short ride this morning, or are you already tasked?ā€

Ugh.

Cedric weighed his options. If he chose to ride, he wouldn't have to worry about making another decision all day. Il would see to that. Not that such a prospect was a bad thing, since it was always easier to follow orders than invent your own, and you wouldn't have to dread finding yourself unoccupied. Even in a time of mourning, Lem would not allow an idle set of hands. And regardless of Il's temperament or bossiness, he was a solid tactician and would keep them on track, both physically and mentally.

If he chose to go with Berislav...well, would he even be going with him? The solitary archer was unlikely to come find him if they didn't cross paths between here and the wilds. There was an informal meeting place, but he hadn't seen Berislav all morning, and waiting around for him to show up would be just as unproductive as doing nothing at all. Lem's name came back to him, and he winced mentally at the thought. Besides, even if Berislav was at the meeting point, and Cedric didn't make an appearance, the other archer would go on just as well without him. He could have gone already.

So a ride it was. Well, why not? He was on his way to the stables anyway. Besides, worst-case scenario, Cedric could always just let the blame slide off onto Il if things went awry. A smile found its way onto Cedric's face at the thought, and he gave the squire a short nod, shrugging off the grasp the man had on his arm.

"Alright, Sposoletto," he responded, needlessly dragging the man's last name out and deliberately mispronouncing one of the vowels. "You've got yourself a farm lad for the day. I'll meet up with you when my's mare's been fed."

He tossed a salute in the general direction of the man and slipped away, desperate to escape before Il could retaliate. He wiped the mischievous smirk off his face at once, remembering that this was a mournful day. The captain was gone. Now was a time for somberness. Sighing, he trotted over to the stables. Maggie was exactly where he had left her, rubbing her head against the post she was tethered to. He lifted her mane and gave her right ear a good scratch, smiling quietly as the horse leaned into him and grunted.

"Still scratching, Magg? Come on, put your nose up. You've got a long day ahead of you."

Gotta be honest, I don't know what Cedric' dialect or accent would sound like. Cedric is an old English name, so would a sharp English accent be in order?
The RP has begun. PMs have been sent. Pretty sure everything is worded the way I want it. If anything changes, I will let you all know.
"Day Zero: Experiment is primed, subjects are in place, all units are on standby. Five minutes to initiation."

The man clicked off the voice recorder and set it on the table beside him. The room he was in wasn't particularly large; it was about the size of a high school basketball court, though the ceiling was far lower. He wasn't a very tall man, but he could have brushed the ceiling with his fingertips if he desired. He gave the dozens of monitors in the room one final check, ensuring they were feeding. His laptop was sitting open, humming away, next to a large touchscreen table, which displayed an aerial view of the five mile by five mile range of the area, courtesy of the drone circling silently far above. He glanced at the man beside him, who was dressed in the same white lab coat, black dress pants, and black leather shoes. He nodded, and the man entered a prompt into his own laptop. The screens flickered, then stabilized, with a small red circle in each to indicate they were recording. Another prompt loaded several bright green dots in the center of the tabletop map. All subjects were accounted for.

"One minute. Transmitting alert signal" he called, reaching for a heavy breaker switch mounted to the wall and snapping it to the ON position. A new window opened up on his laptop as he plugged a wireless phone into one of the many slots. The screen blinked on and ran a quick diagnostic. Everything was functioning properly. He unlocked the phone and scrolled through the list of contacts. He selected them one at a time and sent each a text message.

Satisfied, he reached for the handheld voice recorder once again, checking his watch.

"Time: 12:00PM. Experiment initiated."

A harsh white light filled the small, square room. It was a simple structure, with four concrete walls, four metal roll-up garage doors, and a hard concrete floor. It was lit above by long white shop lights mounted to a tin roof. The only thing that looked out of place was the expensive loudspeaker bolted in one corner of the room. And, of course, a collection of unconscious bodies, laid flat on their backs in a rough circle. The good news was, the thick rubber mats they had been placed on would protect them from any back pain. The bad news was, the small square metal plate on the back of each of their necks, tapped directly into the spinal column, would not treat them as gently. Each individual at once was given a very small electrical shock, snapping them awake and back into reality.

"Hello," the loudspeaker called. "You have been selected to participate in Experiment-200, courtesy of the Institute for the Survival and Ongoing of Humanity. You've been summoned here today to test your ability to make the most important decision in the history of mankind. To kill...or be killed."

There was a pause.

"Each of you has been stripped of your personal belongings. In their place are three things of great significance to you. One is an unmarked card with a black stripe. This card will provide you unlimited credit to the two stores, located in the northwest and southeast corners of the test area. The other is a cellular flip phone. It is how I will communicate with you as the test progresses. Please do not lose either of these items. The third, you are incapable of losing. You may have noticed a lump on the back of your neck. It is my means to monitoring your health and location. Please do not try to remove it. Doing so will cause paralysis and neurological damage.

"The test is simple. Each of you will be asked to terminate one other subject. The subject's name and face will be sent to you via your cellular phone. Terminating that subject will end your part in the experiment and you will be immediately released. If you do not cooperate, or if you attempt to scale the wire fence that defines the borders of the test area, you will be harmed. To give you a false sense of control, each of you is permitted to call me via your cellular phone one time during the experiment. Use it as wisely or unwisely as you want.

"Please proceed to one of the four exits."

Another pause, then a click. Without warning, all four doors buzz to life and rise as one. The experiment has begun.

RP is starting tonight. These are the revised rules on posting:
1. Everyone will post once. This post should consist of you leaving the starting room and heading in a direction. You will not be able to stay in the room.
2. Once everyone has posted once, wait until at least two other people have posted before posting. There should be a gap of at least two people between each of your posts.
3. The minimum post limit is once per week, two paragraphs per post. Please do not post walls of text. Three to four per post would be excellent, but you're free to go past that. I'll let you know if you're going a little overboard.

Note: There is no limit on the length of your first post. Your first post is critical in establishing your character. Be as elaborate or concise as you want.
Gonna get a new post up in a few hours. I'm getting uncomfortable sitting around. Still waiting on someone else to post a CS to star my other RP, so this is all I have at the moment.
Dang it, I was all proud of Cedric's hearing paying off by hearing the Captain in the middle of the night but I just read all of the IC posts again and like three other people also heard him.

Y'all are getting reported for plagiarism.

Edit: EVEN BERISLAV HEARD HIM, WHY CAN'T I BE SPECIAL?!
@ArenaSnowOne time I pretended to be a girl on Omegle (back before it was a trollfest) because I was matched to a really lonely guy. I basically just told him that everything would be okay and he would find someone, and it seemed to cheer him up.
