Bio

Hi. I'm Matt. You could say I'm a Case of Identity...

1. The Important Stuff: Faith and salvation

I am a Christian. I believe the KJV Bible and that God is real, Jesus died for me, Jesus rose again and offered salvation to the world. Heaven is real, Hell is hot and the only escape is Christ. I accepted salvation the only way you can: by admitting I was a sinner (and I still am), believing that Jesus died for me and rose again, and calling on Him to save me. Anyone can do it anytime and be granted eternal life.

"Matt, why are you saying all of this?" you ask.

Because last time I was here, I did a crap job of establishing that and just tried to 'fit in.' I'm going to add a little more of this to my characters and to my signature, because it's the right thing to do and because there's freedom on these kinds of sites. Not to an extent that interrupts/derails the story, though. Your game, your rules.

2. The Actual Bio:

Hi guys. I'm Matthias Emmanuel Angel, I'm 24, and this is where I spend time when I'm not doing other things (church, homework, studying, video games).

///
What I like:
-Landscape Management (my major)
-Guitar (over a decade of experience and not much to show for it)
-PC Games (gave up on Xbox, no regrets)
-RPGs (I play them too often though)
-Water instead of soda (oooo look at how healthy I am)
-Google SketchUp (awesome 3D models, free download)
-The number 23 (it's the best number)
///
What I don't like:
-Profanity (especially when it's just filler in comedy)
-Lewd content and porn (and anyone bragging about it)
-Gory movies (how are they going to get butchered this time?)
-Jerks (you aren't a jerk, are you?)
-Insects (kill them all)
-Dying in video games (and forgetting to save)
///

I realize, of course, that this site doesn't have limits on profanity of lewd content. No worries. I'll work around it, and won't join up with RPs rated 18+. If you feel like it will be a problem, let me know BEFORE the RP starts.

3. Other Internet Presence:

You can find me in a couple other places.

Armor Games: MattEmAngel
Steam: club_blizzy
...and Comments here, of course.

See you in another world.
-Matt

Sorry for the extra long post but I have an idea. I'll let you decide how well it works. Ideally, it won't, since the RP would be over too quickly, but hopefully we can grab some info before we escape (we're going to need to anyway). The fate of the scientist is up to you.

Right now I'm planning to tell her that we are just a number too, so give us a break, then let her go so she can help us later on if necessary. I'd like to get a flash drive from her before we leave, but if we do she'll probably be killed. She can come with us, maybe, but I don't want it to be too easy.

Matt quietly breathed a sigh of relief. Finally something to work with. He watched the woman, now showing signs of legitimate fear. He almost pitied her. He also realized that his next decision was crucial.

He had three legitimate options. Option one p: He could let Freya knock the woman out, then search her body and take everything useful. Pro: They could find a keycard, ID, anything. They also knew where to go, but with access they could check other rooms on the way. Con: The woman would die and they might not be able to use any of the things she had. The facility might have keypads, biometric scanners or fingerprint readers for all he knew. Plus, as of now, she was more on his side that her employers, and one ally was better than none.

Option two: leave now with Freya and head for the exit. Pro: The woman would live and they wouldn't be interrupted (hopefully) for having important items. Con: They would have nowhere to go and no idea where to look, and the scientist might die anyway and be replaced.

The third option was to leave and take the woman with them. Pro: she could gain access through more complicated security measures. She would also know where cameras and guards might be. Con: her employers might have her shot and killed as soon as possible. It was unlikely that something on this scale wasn't equipped for this kind of situation, and if she died, they would die too.

Then again, they were already going to die. Option three was the best. But first he was going to give her a little help.

"That's it? I could have figured that out on my own. Thanks for nothing," he snarled. If he could convince whoever was watching that her assistance was worthless, they might spare her. He grabbed the scientist and jerked her towards the door. "We're leaving, and you're coming with us. Show me where the exit is. If you put up a fight, I won't be responsible for Freya's actions." He turned to Freya and nodded towards the door, mouthing the words 'trust me' to her away from the camera.
Well you're discussing overlapping universes, which involve video games and television shows, so I'm asking to what extent that crossover extends. In my previous example, I referenced Half-Life, Minecraft, HALO, Metal Gear Solid, Ratchet and Clank and Gears of War. Am I constrained to one universe with the ability to interact with many, or can I be a mix of multiple universes and exist in only the Minecraft one?
It sounds extremely confusing. Are we talking about deflecting SMG ammo with diamond armor and a HALO bubble shield, then returning fire with a Metal Gear equipped with a R.Y.N.O. and a Lancer?

Matt winced in his mind. He was hoping that saving the woman would have been a good bluff, maybe to gain some information out of appreciation. Apparently the scientist was far more resilient. So brute force wasn't going to work, and neither was pity. He ran through his options as quickly as possible, well aware that the window of opportunity for being intimidating was closing rapidly. What I have to lose? That's more than you think. What did that mean? Her job? No, more than that. Something worth dying for. Was she being forced to work against her will? No, the excitement on her face was genuine...then it clicked. The camera. She was the one being watched, not him. Matt changed strategies.

"I have a better idea," he said, cracking his knuckles. "Let's choke her until she talks. Then we knock her out, take everything in her pockets and tie her to a bed. I'm sure she has something valuable. Maybe an ID badge or a keycard?" He smirked as the woman's eyes dilated. "Now you're afraid, aren't you? Maybe you even has a flash drive. Who knows what kind of information we might dig up on that?"

Matt jerked the scientist to her knees and stared directly into her eyes. "It's the camera, isn't it? Interesting that whoever is watching hasn't bothered to stop Freya from beating you. You know why? Because you're expendable. Just a number. That's why you won't talk. If Freya doesn't kill you, your employers will."

Matt turned to look at Freya. "What do you think? Should we give it a try? She left the door open for us and everything."

Nope.

Freya was officially out of control. The scientist was clearly not about to comply, and it looked as though Freya was not about to give her a third chance. Matt knew if he didn't do something, their only chance of answers was going to disappear.

He jumped forward, attempting to push Freya and the other woman apart. "Okay, stop! Just...stop for a minute, okay?" I looked up at the camera, still silently recording them. Something was wrong. If someone was watching them, why hadn't they interfered yet? It was unlikely that the woman was expendable or that whoever behind this was willing to let them kill someone and escape.

"Look. If you kill her, we're never going to get answers. Stop and think. They're watching us, right? So why haven't someone tried to stop you from attacking her? And," he said to the woman "what do you have to lose by telling us answers? It's clear that we can't get out of this, so you might as well tell us what's going on."

Matt took a breath, waiting to see if either of them would comply.

Character Sheet:
Name: Matthias Emmanuel Angel
Age: 28
Race: Caucasian
H/W: 5'1", 180 lbs.
Quick sketch of his character:

Personality/Quirks:
- Overall good-humored until the situation becomes serious. Makes an occasional joke and shows apathy at times, but when action is required he becomes humorless and rigid. Doesn't easily lose his temper, but can let off a rant if provoked.
- Gets distracted at times. Toys with a butterfly knife when he's bored (as you can see from my signature, I am a fan of butterfly knives).
- Always keeps a pack of breath mints on him (Icebreakers). Is borderline addicted to them. They keep him awake.
- Wears a ball necklace with a dog tag that has the letter "A" engraved in it and a basic handcuff key (because the easiest way to get out of handcuffs is using a key).

Perks:
- Aggressive combat tactics. Krav Maga and boxing, along with some training with knives. Good upper-body strength but isn't a powerhouse.
- Above average intelligence. Notices connections and patterns, but the "big picture" escapes him at times (which is where you come in, if you like the idea)
- Physical locks and defense removal. Would rather pick a lock than kick a door open, although both are options
- Above average accuracy with a firearm. Can hold his own in a small firefight but has little medium- to long-range training or accuracy.
- Exceptional vision and hearing, as well as perception. Useful for night operations and stealth.
- Military training allows him to take orders and obey them

Flaws:
- As far as he's concerned, all that matters is getting from A to B. No interaction, no killing, no witness, no survivors. If the mission has to be done in a specific way, someone else can figure it out.
- Distraction and apathy when off-duty can irritate some people. He rarely looks totally awake and has his feet on a desk if he's in a chair.
- Gets irritated by begging and pleading. Negotiations are often short and simple. If you're an adult, fight like one and die like one. Cowering and asking for mercy generally leads to no mercy.
- (not sure what else. I'm certain a few will develop along the way.

Loadout:
Primary:
-H&K UMP (.45ACP), 30-round mag (two spare in vest pouch), suppressor, vertical foregrip, laser, iron sights
OR
-Kel-Tec KSG (12-gauge), 14-round tubes (7 TASER XREP, 7 Fiocchi 00 rubber buckshot).
Secondary: S&W M&P (.45ACP), 10-round mag (spare in holster), suppressor, flashlight
Knife: SP24 (USN-1) Survival knife, Benchmade 67
Clothing: Dark zip-up hoodie, combat pants (black), combat boots (black), fingerless gloves
Armor: GH Body armor, tactical drop leg holster (black), ballistic kneepads, neoprene lower face mask, Pulsar Edge GS night vision goggles.(if needed)
Equipment: Lockpick set, 10 zipties, choke cable, metal tactical flashlight, primitive bomb kit (wire cutters, scalpel, tweezers, small telescoping mirror, electrical tape), TAC II cam kit (snake cam, microphone, Special Ops DVR)

(To be improved)

Storyline basics: This is modern-day America, and the country is at war. Much of the world's attention is on what could be known as WW III. The international focus fills the headlines and news reports and all the camera point towards the fight. The opportunity for inner-America crime intensifies. With the resources and arms being sent to the war, no one is watching their backs. A group takes advantage of this and begins an underground operation (intentions to be determined) in a normal, uninteresting city (name TBD). Unfortunately, this city is protected by a more "unique" force.

Enter "Kilo," an army of two men, paid by the city to take care of anything at any time. The city is generally crime-free and any minor incidents are handles by the local police. However, rumors and whispers have been spreading. Talk of some kind of organized crime is starting to arouse suspicion. Unfortunately, every "tip" has been a dead-end. Nonexistent dangers and empty buildings. The police are getting restless, beginning to think the whole thing is an elaborate hoax, and yet the threat exists. Rather than respond to the constant rumors and cryptic messages, the police contact two specialists to look into it for them.

This is the story of two men, quietly defending a city from a threat that could either be one of the biggest jokes or biggest threats to ever occur. They are on constant standby for anything that poses a threat, regardless of the circumstances. They were equally skeptical about the rumors, but they looked into them anyway. Just when they were ready to confirm the entire thing as a ruse, something unexpected turned up and changed everything. With no backup and no rules, Kilo is on their own to open and close the case as carefully and, if necessary, violently as they can.
