Would you not be inclined to make one of my super-very-vague-settings into something urban fantasy?

Excellent, I see this mixed with Older guy / younger girl thing with arena and magical girl elements. Basically my character would be a wealthy Patrician and your character his latest slave that would compete other such magical girls for him for money and glory... and for her a warm meal and better living conditions.

Hmmm I'm not really one for writing gladiatorial combat though :/

I PMed you, May.

I got it :)

I'd be interested in the plot.

Do you have any gender/setting preferences?

Now you got into my head a Sci-Fi society set around both steampunk and ancien Romans/Greeks... with magic wanted but optional.Does that strike your fancy?

haha It seems to be a gift of mine to inspire such normally outlandish combinations of genres. But that does indeed strike my fancy ;P
Okay.

I don't really need more threads. But I'm in the mood for something new. I've got some vague, rather open plots and some likes and we can work from there. Probably only looking for one new one though. Make sure you read all the way through this though :

1. Me for you?. I don't particularly have a solid plot for this one, but I'd liked to do an arranged marriage. I'll play either gender, but I'd prefer to play the girl if I can. Details are really up to what we work out.

2. You were not what I expected I don't really have anything super sound for this one. It's a semi vague fantasy plot (I say fantasy because it involves someone who posses magic, but that does not mean it has to be medieval or anything like that.) But basically the idea is that said mage through whatever means we were work out, ends up with* someone who has a prejudice towards magic/magic users (either not believing that magic is real or that all magic is evil, whatever works for the story), and they both have to learn that maybe the other isn't so bad after all. *And by end up with, romance (which is how that is normally applied) is not necessary, but I do like it (as you'll see when you keep reading). I'd prefer to play the mage, and they will likely be a she.

Some things I like if you wanted to add some spice to the above:
Fantasy
Suggest almost any plot in a fantasy setting and I'm probably going to love it
~urban fantasy (like Dresden Files and werewolves and stuff like that)
~dark fantasy
~fantasy of any kind really
Horror
Steampunk
~Not just Victorian steampunk either, I am more then willing to put steam tech into any era.
Historical settings
~Medieval (also coupled with fantasy)
~Victorian (coupled with Steampunk as well)
~Greek and Roman (as well as their mythology and stories)
~Most historical settings if I know enough about it
1920s
Post-apocalyptic
Modern
If there is a good hook to it.
Genre crashing
Like throwing fantasy characters into a sci-fi world, magic and all still attached and just having things go from there.
Some Fandoms
~Harry Potter
~Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles, I just like using her vampire mythos because I know it really well
~Philip José Farmer's Riverworld, (I've only seen the Sci-Fi miniseries, but I rather like the idea of it).
~And probably some others if you suggest them because I've not thought of them right now

Pairings I like: (* means that I'd willing play this one, ** means I'd prefer this one)
~Older guy* x younger girl**
~Nurse** x soldier*
~Mage (possibly evil)** x Knight*
~Teacher x student**
~Any sort of class crossing like Rich guy x poor girl, things of that nature

I Do:
Moderate post length. I'd say that I sit nicely between Casual and Advanced. I can post anywhere between 1-4 paragraphs if I'm inspired enough and the person I'm RPing with is posting equal amounts. I normally average around two, though if I'm pushed or I really like the plot/characters I can probably do more. I really hate one liners, though I'm totally guilty of them myself. I'd like someone who would always push me to make sure it was at least a decent length.
Romance. Not totally needed, but I do prefer if it happens. I'm not hugely fond of insta romance. Attraction upon meeting is fine, but 'I love you' will not be said right off the bat.
Violence. I'm really okay with violence and cussing and things like that and I'm okay if they're graphic too. Funny thing to follow the one above I know, but it's how I am.
Drama. I love drama and angst and doing awful things emotionally to characters. Crying builds character and makes people stronger.
Probably some other stuff, that I can't think of to mention right now. :]

I Do Not Do:
Canon characters I just like using their universes for fandom settings.
Graphic Sex I write at a PG-13 level when it comes to that. Which means implied things are fine, I just fade to black. There is no exception to this rule, so even if it's a PM like rp, I won't change that.
Probably some other stuff, that I can't think of to mention right now. : p

I prefer threads over anything else as I can keep better track of them for the most part. I'm on pretty much every day, though weekends not as much sometimes as week days. I am capable of posting several times a day, but at the moment it's much more likely to be once a week, though it's likely to be longer. Life is a little crazy for me at the moment so I'm going to be rather slow. If it's getting too long and you haven't heard anything from me, just give me a poke. It's unlikely I've forgotten, but more likely that I've been swamped rl and I keep thinking I'm going to get a reply up so I keep not saying anything to you.

I play either gender though I prefer girls. I'm fine with doubling up or playing more then one character. I'm also fine with mxm and fxf couplings as well as mxf. I'm cool with or without CS, though I kinda like 'em sometimes. I don't normally tend to use pictures as appearances unless I think it really looks like them, and you might have to accept that the picture may not fit the setting if I do use one, use your imaginations.
I'm pretty sure that the reason that 1x1 is it's own sub-forum is because on the old site they were getting lost in the mix of all the groups. Now I know that this forum is set up differently than the old one in terms of how sub-forums work. But I honestly think I'm still going to like having it done this way. I'm a 1x1 Rper AND a small group Rper, though I prefer the former. I personally write on average like High Casual, but I can easily do fully Advanced as well (or fully Casual, whatever works with the story or my partner). I don't like the idea of me having to go to two different forums to find the kind of people I want to write with.

I liked the old tag system on the old site and honestly thought it was working pretty well. But I mostly click on Interest Check threads by their subject than by their level (though I do avoid Free or Free/Casual). A lot of Rpers don't know where they're at, no matter if they're 1x1 or Group players. I found that I was more Advanced than Casual by clicking on a thread that had an interesting idea in the subject and then said that it was more Advanced than I was doing. But I gave it a go and hey, guess what, I am an Advanced writer. I probably wouldn't have looked at it at the time if it had been labelled Advanced right up front. And I would have missed it totally if it was in a purely Advanced forum.

So I think that if you separate them based on level, that you could miss out on writers who are Advanced who don't know it by limiting them seeing things. Tags are the best system to use by just looking at titles. Though really, what you should do in the OP of any interest check is put what you're looking for, explicitly. Like how much you write, how much you look for in a partner's writing, ask for a sample (especially since you can't go back and look through their old threads atm). Separation isn't really needed in my opinion.
