James lays beside Dorian listening to the older vampire setting out the guidelines for this new life. While the young blonde agrees that they seem reasonable and fair the wild part of him hates every word, every bit of control that he is supposed to show. Hunting and killing has been the vast majority of his short second life and he is struggling to understand why he must live amongst the prey while refraining from feasting upon them.
The young vampire lays beside his Sire until the sunsets and it is time to depart again. The Wahru are already waiting for them outside, they move around in a loose circle guarding the perimeter of the cave. While Dorian does his usual checks of Horace and packs the saddle bags, James is paying more attention to the wolves. He notices how some stand up and depart ahead of them scouting the route they wish to take. Others sit on top of the cave keeping watch.
Once Horace is prepared James clambers into the saddle and wraps his arms around Dorian's waist. The young vampire predicts he will be quite used to travelling in the saddle very soon. They set off with the Wolves around them, guarding them and scouting ahead.
