Robin had tucked herself away in the conservatory for the last hour or so. She hated being locked inside this machine, sure it was quicker but with no fresh air and tight quarters it was hard not to feel like a prisoner.
The armed guards didn't make things any better. Half of her own "crew" was carrying weapons of sorts. Robin had done her best to keep her cool. The sight of guns brought up memories she had worked long and hard on forgetting.
Here in the conservatory she could at least watch the sky around her. Pretend like she was outside soaring amongst the clouds free from the metal beast currently containing her wild spirit.
Watching the clouds roll lazily past her Robin found herself curious about the expedition she was currently on. Armed men, a doctor, prestigious professors and.... her? Sure she was good at navigating the wilderness but was she really needed? From what little studying she had done the archipelago wasn't too different geographically from what they were used to back home. If it boiled down to a lack of wilderness experience Robin could have simply given them a crash course overy a week or so then sent them merrily along their way. But things had to be mysterious, promising excitement and adventure. Two words that always tugged at Robin's heart.
She sighed and leaned her head against the glass window. As if on cue Oso stopped toddling around the conservatory floor and made his way to Robin. He pushed his head under Robin's arm and curled into her lap. He licked her face a few times before cooing gently and closing his eyes.
Robin couldn't help but smile as her anxiety faded, if but only for a moment.
Friday will be good for me too, this weekend I will be mostly free then at the start of the week I go throw a hell ish schedule so I'll be tied up until Wednesday as a heads up.
@MelancholyMellie I do hope you plan on updating soon with the additions I've suggested
Working on it, been busy with work.
Edit: I think its pretty much done let me know if you want me to add or clarify anything else. Also just going to stick to one Pokemon for the time being. Might try and catch one IG.
Profession/Trade: -Ex Pokemon Conservationist (Similar to a Ranger) -Mountain climber, -Survivalist, -Tracker, -Naturist, -"Hippy"
Skills/traits: -Experienced in recognizing Flora and Fauna she has a Bachelor's degree in Zoology and Botany from the local University. Through the use of her Zo/Bot knowledge ad application of this knowledge Robin has become an Excellent tracker. Her time spent working with the Conservationists often included long periods of time camping alone which allowed her to hone her skills with primitive survival techniques
Despite being a professional and important member of the Conservationists at one point Robin has adopted a rather Carefree attitude. She will often stare out in the distance letting her mind wander as she enjoys the nature around her. Which gives her the appearance of being Absent Minded or even aloof and naive. That being said she knows how to be a professional and get any assigned task done promptly and efficiently
Robin suffered a traumatic incident as a younger woman and since then has adopted rather Pacifistic tendencies And a Fear of Violence because of it. As such she rarely participates in Pokemon battles and is somewhat of an unskilled trainer. She is more of a partner with her Teddiursa letting him fight as he sees fight whenever a rare battle occurs. (Hopefully this opens up to some potential mentor situation regarding pokemon battles)
-(more will develop IC)
Equipment: -Simple climbing gear (rope, belay, caribiners, etc. old school/steampunk designs) -Hatchet, has a hollow handle with a fire starter inside -Flare gun -Freeze dried rations -2 Super Potions, Burn heal and Ice heal
Appearance:
Robin is usually seen wearing some type of loose cargo Pants or capris with a tank top and a light jacket. She carries a satchel with essential items. She stands roughly 5'6" weighing in at a slight 115 lbs. Her skin is tanned and rough from countless hours spent in the sun and wilderness. Her muscles hint at a reserved strength toned for a specific purpose. In this case rock climbing. Its most notable in her shoulders and forearms. When she has her hood up and goggles on she is often mistaken for a man.
Personality: Robin has always sought new challenges in the field of survival and tracking. The chance to guide an expedition in the pursuit of rare Pokemon and explore the relatively unknown archipelago nation of Phillitri. She hopes to learn more about the flora of the world and test the skills she's spent years honing.
Background:
Robin spent most of her youth camping and in the wilderness with her family. Her mother and father were simple people, her father worked as a painter, her mother a nurse at the local hospital. Robin had a normal middle class childhood spent in a small suburban neighborhood. Growing up she lived for their camping trips. Nature was her only true home and she longed to be wild and free during her days spent in class. After graduating high school she learned about the budding group called Pokemon Conservationists (a pre cursor to the Rangers) They were forming a group of like minded individuals whose goal was to protect the natural habitats Pokemon lived in and by extension the pokemon themselves. Intrigued Robin started focusing her life down the path of becoming a Conservationist.
Four short years later she graduated with a degree in Zoology and Botany with a specialization in Herbalism. The Conservationists welcomed her with open arms she choose a Growlithe as her partner Pokemon and begun her new career with enthusiasm. Five years passed without incident, Robin was a hard worker and was promoted quickly, becoming a head Conservationist at 26.
Near the end of her career with the Conservationists, poaching had begun to be an increasingly bigger problem. People were reportedly using rather brutal methods to catch local wild pokemon. Robin being in charge spearheaded an operation to end these poachers. The operation went sour however. The poachers were more well equipped then she was led to believe. When she and just two other Conservationists confronted the poachers they were ready for her. She and Growlithe were easily dispatched in a short battle. When Growlithe fainted overcome by the opponents Machamp, the poachers turned on her they beat her unconscious and left her for dead. Upon awakening hours later Robin found her fellow Conservationists were dead, all their pokemon, Robin's Growlithe included had been murdered.
Too weak to stand, Robin faded in and out of consciousness for the rest of the night. She woke for the last time as the noon day sun beat down on her body. A moment of clarity allowed her to find and utilize the flare gun she kept on her body. Luckily it was loaded with green smoke, the Conservationist's sign for emergency. She Fired into the sky and laid back down. Emotions were brewing inside her but she kept them suppressed. It would do Robin no good to breakdown. Able to keep her wits about her Robin crawled to a small cliff hanging which provided shade from the sun and a small shelter. Out of the sun Robin laid down falling asleep within seconds.
When she awoke next Robin found a small pile of berries next to her face. Her groggy mind didn't process anything very fast, she tried sitting up and looking around but her broken body kept her down. She knew the berries were harmless, recognizing them as Oran Berries. Melanie managed to squeeze one into her mouth and chewed slowly as the juicy berry burst in her mouth. A small wave of relief washed through her aching body, allowing her to relax and sleep once more.
Robin awoke once more to a gentle shaking and the sound of someone calling her name. Opening her eyes she realized her fellow Conservationist's had finally found her. Relief washed over her as she passed out again. Robin barely remembered the hike back to the hospital, flashes of shouting and jostling and people bickering was all she could recall. When she finally did wake up fully it was in the hospital in town. She was hooked up to several IV's, multiple machines and had casts on her left arm and right leg. She would come to find out that she suffered a major concussion, 2 broken vertebrae, broken Tibia and broke Radius as well as a dislocated shoulder, torn Rotator Cuff and 4 broken ribs.
What surprised her the most was a small Teddiursa curled up in a ball between her legs. She smiled and tried to pet him but couldn't move her arms to do so. Instead she relaxed pressed the nurses button and waited for answers to come. Friends and family rushed to her side, excited to find out she was alive. It had been a close call as she was told. The doctor attributed her survival to the Oran Berry she was able to eat in the woods. Effects of berries on humans are minimal at best but apparently it was enough to stabilize her. Her fellow Conservationists then explained that it was the Teddiursa sitting between her legs that brought her the berries. He had stood watch over her, and protected her while Robin lay unconscious. Even fighting the Conservationists when they tried to take her away.
Robin spent the next several months recovering slowly. Physical Therapy was her life then and her new Teddiursa was never far from her side. The two became fast friends as he helped her regain her strength and will to live. Devastated by the loss of her fellow Conservationists Robin turned in her resignation as soon as she could. No one blamed her for their deaths and many tried to convince her to stay but she couldn't handle the burden anymore. When she had finally recovered well enough to be on her own Robin left retreating to a small cabin she owned in the nearby forest. She has since been living as a recluse, competing in rock climbing events, survival challenges and working as an occasional guide for people through the forest. Professor Palm was one such tourist. After their tour he convinced her to join an expedition he had planned.
(Sorry got a little long)
Pokemon Species: Teddiursa Name: Oso Ability: Quick feet Moves: Fury Swipes, EarthQuake, Hone Claws, Hammer Arm Appearance:

She has a small hump in her back formed from years of crawling through vents and shafts. She has on an older style vault suit that is stained with grease, sweat and blood. She rarely washes and appears to be generally senile and unclean.
Personality: Distant, flat affect, emotionally labile if provoked or approached without warning.
Occupation:No true job, lives in the deepest parts of the vaults maintaining machinery as she sees fit.
Biography: Agatha, or Bewo, as the dwellers call her was born to a pair of brilliant scientists. Her father a trained physician pioneered vault medicine technology. Improving upon the original StimPak design, increasing its functionality and ease of use. Her mother one the opposite spectrum was a celebrated engineer. At the 100 year mark of living in the vault space had run low. Her mother and a small team of engineers studied the vaults original schematics intensely. After years of calculations and testing various scenarios they were finally able to expand the vault, breaking through the earth below opening up space to expand the vault ensuring that future generations would have the space they need to continue to grow.
Unfortunately brilliance often has a dark side. Agatha's mother at the age of 42 had a schizophrenic break when Agatha was only 9 years old. She murdered her husband, Agatha's father, in his sleep. Luckily a passing dweller over heard his muffled cries and decided to investigate. He was able to catch Agatha's mother and bring her to justice. Found guilty she was executed leaving Agatha orphaned.
Growing up in the small orphanage Agatha kept to herself, developing an interest in machine at a young age. During a middle school mock G.O.A.T test Agatha was found to have off the charts intelligence and incredible aptitude for mechanical work. The head machinist was notified and he quickly took the young girl into his care. She was groomed as his replacement and 10 short years later at the ripe age of 23 Agatha became the lead mechanic in charge of the maintenance and safety of the vault. She did her work diligently and thoroughly. During her time as the lead mechanic Agatha made several upgrades to systems in place that improved efficiency and safety ten fold. The vault at 160 years old was running better than ever.
However it all came crashing down 10 years later. The deepest part of the vault, the area her mother had helped create was having a mechanical failure in one of the power rooms. A room designed to run independently. It was crucial it be repaired before sectors lost power. Agatha trusted only herself for this job and ventured down to the depths alone. Unfortunately she was unable to get there in time and the depths of the vault lost power. Water filtration systems, oxygen recycling and food production for the bottom part of the vault was brought to a halt. The few dozen families living in that section were able to relocated safely while the maintenance team assured everyone that Agatha would be able to handle it.
Lost in the dark Agatha had a minor breakdown. Her mind panicked and shut down. she knew how dangerous the depths were without power. Some time later hours, days or even weeks she was able to finally come to her senses and find her way to the power room. Working by the light of her pip boy only Agatha was able to repair the automated system and get the power plant running again. It had taken her 4 days since she left. 4 days alone in the dark. A rescue party found her hours later, and were overjoyed having thought her dead. Their joy quickly faded however as they saw the shell of the woman in front of them. It seemed the demons that had haunted her mother had manifested within her.
She wasn't violent but she wasn't all their either. Agatha muttered to herself and refused to be taken away from the power plant. Instead she chose to stay. The team gave up trying to take her after a a particularly vicious struggle. Instead they chose to leave her as dead, reporting to the overseer that they had found her dead in the depths. A small memorial was held for her honoring her sacrifice in restoring power to the vault.
Years later reports of a small woman living in the maintenance shafts of the deeper parts of the vault began to crop up. The kids began to call her Bewo, the demon of the vault. Mothers used this as stories to scare kids into behaving. "Play nice or the Bewo will get you." Agatha has no malicious intent though. Instead her life is spent maintaining the systems behind the scenes. Her fractured mind only put at ease when she is working with machines. In the years since her demise their has not been a single mechanical issue.
