"Hey... You gonna go? You do realize these turns are on a timer, right?"
The boy pointed to a small timer to Umi's right. Thirty seconds remaining.
"If you don't go, I'm just gonna end up going again... You are a student here, right? This is the very basics."

Meanwhile, elsewhere on campus...
__________

It wasn't far into Elly's little speech that she would have noticed; the child she had chosen to duel against didn't seem frightened at all. In fact, he (or she, it was difficult to tell between the loose burlap clothing, unruly hair, and the layer of dirt and grime that practically covered every inch of their body), looked pleased as punch. Grabbing hold of her pointing hand, the child yanked her forward a couple extra steps, bringing them within inches of each other. Their voice was a high-pitched chirp, occasionally escalating into birdline shrieks of excitement.

"Sounds good, but this feels a little exposed~; How about a change in VENUE?"

The child stomped, hard... And the ground flickered away into nothing. Both duelists plummeted into the abyss.

When the shock of falling had passed, Elly would discover she had come to rest at the well-cushioned bottom of a pitfall, roughly eight feet wide and ten feet deep. The child she had been hunting stood at the other side, their duel disk at ready. It was the same scroll design as the boy's, but this one was colored a bright, vibrant red.

"She's up! We DID it partner! I really got one! I TOLD you we'd get... O-oh yeah, he left..."

The kid pressed a finger to their lips and looked a little lost for a moment, but recovered quickly.

"Well, I'll make sure to tell him a~ll about it later. Partner's really, REALLY strong! Stronger than me, even!"

Not waiting for an answer, the girl drew five cards.

"A~nyway, since you DID say I could go first~ I'll set two cards facedown, then end my turn."

@KOgaming
So if he doesn't respond can I just timeskip past this?
Waiting three days after every post is pretty boring.
@KOgaming
It's been three days and still no response again.
I think @SillyPhilly needs help understanding how duel monsters works. What should I do?
@SillyPhilly
Oh, my bad, I forgot to put it in the summary so I guess you didn't catch it.
My character ended his turn as well. It's your go.
All the metaphorical wars were fought and won as the pair finished their painfully slow rock-paper-scissors battle, but when the metaphorical dust had settled and the metaphorical radioactive supermen emerged from their metaphorical faulty bunkers the one left standing at the top of the metaphorical mountain was the gloomy-looking guy who was standing in the paper bin and refused to leave.

"...Scissors? Really? Was trusting me really that hard?"

The boy visibly drooped as he clapped a duel disk onto his arm that resembled a large, dark blue scroll. He sighed as he loaded his deck, the well-tuned shuffling mechanism a barely-audible whisper.

"I'm honestly a little hurt, you know? I mean, sure, I can admit I might seem a little strange, a little shady, even... but isn't looking past those things what brotherhood is all about? I mean, we're both duelists, aren't we? I know you're good for it, you know I'm good for it... and you still feel the need to wound me in such a manner, it makes me question if you have any humanity at all..."

The boy tutted quietly and drew five cards. A golden holographic field flickered to life around his duel disk.

"What is the world coming to, really... Well, looks like it's my go, then..."

He sorted his hand, scratched his head, took a good long look at his cards, and then:

"Three cards facedown. End turn."

@SillyPhilly
So you're leaving it up to me?
Okay then.
@KOgaming
It has been almost three days since my partner @SillyPhilly has last posted. He keeps logging in, but he isn't actually posting a response.
Does this mean I win?
@GarlandDaHero
Oh, we can be pendulum friends!
@Satoshi Kyou @Scarifar
So when are you posting that duel you guys did?
@KOgaming
No it's okay friend this works.
Playing a dishonest person can be tons of fun and it makes me glad that @SillyPhilly understands this too.
