As the mercenary listened to her emotional rant, he began fully connecting the dots for himself. His client, or Bella as the girl knew her as, was already very suspicious from the start, from the lack of her basic information, to the lack of any info about a target that they hired him to kill. He couldn't be completely sure however, she might still be lying to him, he had to be sure. "Based on what you just said, it sounds like my client had lied to me, and I don't like being lied to. But how do I know that what you've said is true, and that you're not just making shit up to get me to let you go?"
"They didn't ask for that, but thank you for the information anyway. That's something those Hunters might want to know as well." His target seemed awfully calm for someone whose days are numbered. It was unusual, was she planning something? Did she manage to call in reinforcements to try and save her? Could she kill him right this instant and get away like it was nothing? These were some of the questions going through his head right now, but he had to focus on the job. The armored man then asked in a cold, intimidating voice, "Give me information on this so-called lich that you've been collaborating with. I want everything."
The mercenary saw her put her hood back up, but didn't do anything. Drawing less attention was a good thing, though perhaps she must have had her own reasons for doing it. As they neared the rest house, the girl asked him a question. The armored man stayed silent for a moment before responding in his usual deadpan voice. "It depends, are you willing to fully cooperate?" He had planned to interrogate her when they arrived, first through non-lethal means, and then torture if she really wasn't going to talk. Maybe it was a good thing that she asked that, perhaps she was willing to spill her intel.

Several minutes later, they would arrive at the safe house. It was a small, concrete, two-storey building that was in relatively good shape considering the other decrepit buildings surrounding it. "Get in." he told her, before following her inside and locking the door behind them. The room they entered looked like a storage area. Several boxes took up a large amount of space, with some half-opened and with weapons inside. There were also a few chairs and desks lying around, and two yellow lights that illuminated the area.
Seeing her manipulate the piece of bandage without using her body surprised him. It's an incredibly useful and deadly ability if it was wielded correctly, he would have to keep a closer eye on her than he thought. After putting a pair of handcuffs on the girl, he replied to her comment: "You don't need to know." The mercenary owned a small rest house on the outskirts of town as he came here often. He could use the place to interrogate the girl. The armored man then led the girl out of the alleyway and into the street, before heading for the rest house.
The armored man let the girl speak before replying, "Get up and turn around. Slowly." He would then use a pair of handcuffs on the girl if she did follow his instructions, rendering her relatively harmless. The mercenary then noticed the blood trickling down her arm. "And cover up that wound of yours, it's messy."He still couldn't let his guard down however, he didn't know what capabilities this girl had, or what she could do. Vampires weren't all that common after all.
As the mercenary slowly moved further into the alleyway, the cloaked figure suddenly darted out from a dumpster in front of him before tripping and falling, ruining any chance it had of escape. The figure would then hear a gun click as she would look up to see the barrel of an assault rifle pointed at their head, with the armored man holding said gun. "Don't move." the mercenary said in a cold voice as he pulled off the figure's hood to reveal a girl that matched the description of his target perfectly. The job did want her dead, but the job also mentioned that she was working with a lich, a lich that he didn't have any information on. Perhaps she could give him some intel on the lich if she was convinced.
As the mercenary followed his target through the street, the target attempted to disappear by slipping into the crowd. He sped up, trying to stay on the trail. However, he started having difficulty as the figure became harder and harder to track as it further blended into the crowd. The mercenary tried to use his helmet's scanners to look for thermal signatures, but to no avail. He eventually reached the end of the crowd, but by then he had lost visual on the figure.

There were two possibilities, either she proceeded through the main road without the crowd for cover, or she hid in one of the alleyways in an attempt to elude him. Taking both scenarios into consideration, he eventually decided to sweep the nearby area first before moving towards another area, as he was more likely to catch her here. The mercenary turned to move into an alleyway, which was empty, save for some trash and a dumpster. His instincts told him something was here, and braced himself for enemy contact, readying his weapons.
The armored man tapped into his account through his helmet's HUD to check if the funds had actually been transferred. Fortunately, the funds had indeed been transferred, along with some additional info on his vampire target. He eyed his client for a moment as she offered her hand, before responding with a firm grip of his own. He then walked past her as he reviewed the details of his prey through his HUD. A young girl with pale skin, and brown hair with a grey streak running down the side.

As he stepped out of the hotel and into the street, the mercenary started taking note of everyone he saw. Anyone that matched any of the physical descriptions in any way was a possible lead. It wasn't until he passed a nearby cafe that he saw someone who matched the given height and also wore a cloak that concealed most of their features. He would start following the figure, taking care not to lose them in the crowd.
The woman's answer did not please the mercenary. Clients who would withhold even basic info was not something he especially liked. Regardless, he had worked for people like this before, and most of the time, they kept their end of the bargain. Additionally, the technology was too good to pass up. It was advanced, perhaps even advanced enough to help him find a way... home.

He turned around to face The Master before saying, "One-third of the payment to be transferred to my account up front, two-thirds upon completion, then we have a deal.
The mercenary's eyes went wide under his helmet as the desk opened up to reveal its hidden cache of weapons. To be honest, he did not anticipate that his client would possess tech like this. The weapons look strangely familiar, almost like the weapons from his dimension, but are also noticeably different. He picked up one of the weapons, a futuristic-looking rifle, and examined it. After a few moments, he turned to face the woman, "Who are you, and how did you get these?"
