Raven was about to speak when the boy who’d gone to sit over by Sabrina spoke. However when he referred to her the way he did she flinched visibly before looking down, her wings dropping slightly as they pulled in tighter to her body. “He’s right.” She eventually spoke, her voice soft but haunting, nothing like the gentle, caring tone it had before. “The success rate of the project at the moment… is only about ten percent, meaning for every one of you… there were nine other people taken… nine casualties. And out of us nine… less than half survive the first year.” She didn’t go into any details around those deaths, didn’t want to give people ideas. “The thought has crossed everyone’s mind sooner or later, some sooner, some later when they think they’re powerful enough. No one has succeeded as yet. He’s right; they know all of our powers and prepare methods to combat them before you’re released into this section of the program. If an escape attempt is made and you don’t die in the process… they take you away. Where you go even I don’t know. But no one’s ever come back.” In the corner Sabrina shivered, her eyes darkening slightly, indicating she may know than she was letting on. However the next thing Reaper would feel was a very firm push against him; that could knock him over fairly easily. “Aiden! That wasn’t nice.” Sabrina suddenly said, quiet enough that anyone easily could have missed it. Looking across the table at seemingly nothing the girl frowned before looking over to the boy, her eyes slightly fearful now, as if someone had just warned her he was dangerous and she should stay away.
South looked at him for a while, nodding slowly eventually. “As long as you don’t go on any more suicide missions!” She eventually offered in exchange. “Sorry Cal, but you’re my friend and I’m not just going to let you go off and get yourself killed. None of you guys. But at the same time I’m really not looking forward to North yelling at me again… especially considering I know he’d do the same thing, given the opportunity.” She shrugged slightly before standing, giving him a look. “I think it goes without saying we don’t mention this to the others.” The girl said quietly before motioning her head towards the door. “Wanna go find em? I think I heard talk of food and I’m starving.” North chuckled again, sitting back slightly. “Now you’re asking something.” He said, thinking over past missions. Surprisingly nothing leapt out at him at first. Sure there was the odd mission here or there but nothing spectacular. “Oh! I got it!” He said putting the glass to the table with enthusiasm. “Perhaps not my finest moment, but probably the one I think about the most. My squad and I had been sent to this really primitive planet at war with itself, the original, primitive inhabitants were give the modern settlers a bitch of a time so we had been sent to see if a treaty could be reached.” The place was full of thick jungles, you couldn’t walk in a straight line the trees were so think. Anyway, we’d had our talk with the settlers, gotten what they wanted and were trying to find the original inhabitants, who were very at one with their environment. It was proving difficult. Now, they had no clue who we were, so I can understand why assumed us to be enemies too, especially since they had no doubt seen us talking to the settlers. They ambushed us during the night and my squad was scattered and I found myself on my own.” “I didn’t last long. After an hour or so I heard this really ominous click right under my foot before my world exploded. Now, remembering that this was a primitive planet the blast wasn’t enough to kill me thanks to my amour. But I was down, injured and all but out. I was bleeding heavily thanks to a bit of shrap and all I really remembered seeing were those natives hovering over me and these vague… nonsensical images between bouts of darkness. The next thing I really remember was waking up in an infirmary.” He went silent for a long time after that, for a while it looked like the story was over before he eventually continued, though something had changed in his voice, the carefree happiness was gone, replaced by a serious tone of contemplation. “They said they found me naked, no sign of my amour, covered in this strange substance and leaves of all things. Apparently none of the rest of my squad were found. I never said anything to any of them but I honestly think those natives saved me… for whatever reason. And whilst I can’t say for certain… I think the rest of my squad didn’t want to be found and I like to think they’re still out there somewhere with those strange beings.”
Looking up and seeing Cal at the door South offered him a small smile before looking back at the floor, wiping tears out of her eyes. “As long as you don’t yell at me too” She replied eventually, though her gaze never lifted from the floor. “Wanna know a secret?” She eventually said, looking up at him. “I’m not really sure why they picked me for this kind of thing. North I can understand, he’s amazing. But me… before all this I was going to prison for that whole hacking incident you heard Wash talking about earlier. Next thing I knew they were offering me a way out.” “I took it without even a second thought. I mean… it was jail or ‘a place where I’d get to use my skills to their fullest ability’ or some crap like that. I was actually surprised to see North here. I’ve never been properly trained in military stuff… I didn’t do basic like all you guys did. I never specialised in one field or another. I was just a civilian who hacked into the wrong place. North has been doing his best to train me, trying to help me be a better soldier… but it’s just… not me. I’m not like the others. I don’t have the discipline to follow orders if I think they’re stupid or wrong. He’s right though it was a dumb thing for me to do.” North walked towards the Mess Hall with the rest of the group, meeting up with Iowa as he returned carrying a bottle of… something. Sitting down he didn’t hesitate to pour himself a glass, but waited a few moments before drinking. Instead he held his glass up slightly. “I feel like my yelling at my sister isn’t a good occasion to drink to. So instead let’s celebrate our first successful mission as a group, even if it was a sim. So to successful missions past and more success to come.” He offered instead. “I just wish we could all be here to enjoy it.” He faked being teary for a moment before chuckling softly to himself.

Closed RP between Myself and Leaf In a valley, nestled in between grassy hills and small forests on the edge of the map rests a small town, isolated and rarely visited it has been left alone for centuries to make its own way in the world. It’s a quiet little town, cold for most of the year as it’s so far south and mostly life there is peaceful and quiet. There is only one rule the entire town knows and follows religiously. Do not cross the wall to the south. For even further south than the southernmost town on the map as a wall, a great ancient wall of stone, weathered over the centuries it still stands, but has weakened in places, leaving holes. For on the other side of that wall is an ancient and forgotten city that is said to be the home of daemons. No one knows what they look like, for no one has ventured past the wall and returned alive. Their existence may be questioned all together if it weren’t for the demonic noises that can sometimes be heard in the night when the air is still. So what happens when, on a fated winter’s night, a young human passes through the wall and returns the next morning alive? What did they see on the other side? How did they survive? What secrets did they uncover? Over the next few months everything they’ve grown up to believe will be challenged and a friendship will bloom in the most unlikely of places.
Summer smiled slightly as Dick told her about what he’d been up to. “I’m sure Bruce cares about more than just your grades.” The girl decided to add. She’d seen in the news papers that Bruce Wayne, the billionaire had adopted Dick after they’d left Gotham the first time around. The way she saw it anyone who’d gone out of their way to adopt someone and spend all these years with them had to care about more than just school scores. It was hard to tell for sure, since she’d never met the man, but he seemed nice on the TV when she’d watched him. Summer did have a theory but she decided to keep it for later, if she and Dick got a chance to talk privately. Suddenly she became a lot more aware of the people around her, all these people she didn’t know at all and she sank in her chair slightly, casting her eyes down to the table. Summer had always been a little shy, but this was mostly due to the fact that she’d never had to socialise with strangers on a personal level like this. In the circus there had only been Dick, herself and a couple of others around their age. But even then she knew everyone so well. She also realised that she really had no idea who Dick was either. Back when they’d been at the circus they’d known everything about each other. Now there were years of his life she had missed. His personality could be completely different from the boy she remembered. What if they weren’t compatible anymore? A past with someone could only get you so far if your personalities clashed. What if he decided he didn’t like her anymore? “So have you decided?” She finally decided to ask. “What you want to be I mean? You said your friends in Jump City made you think about it. Do you know yet?”
For a few moments as the question hung in the air Summer was afraid she’d made a mistake. This certainly could have been Dick, but it also could easily have not been him as well. Puberty had changed him a lot. But then what if it was him and he didn’t recognise her? That thought was almost as scary as if she’d made a mistake and she was starting to seriously question her decision to come over here. However when he stood up and hugged her suddenly, all those feelings of doubt and worry seemed to vanish and she hugged him back gently, not wanting to seem too relieved. She smiled gratefully at him as he asked his friends to move and she sat opposite to him. She quickly nodded to dismiss any fears he may have. “Everything’s fine. I just thought it would be a good idea to finish off school without the distractions of performing so I can really ‘apply myself’.” The way she said the last words hinted that it was more someone else’s idea over her own. She then sighed softly, letting herself relax a little more. “You have no idea how good it is to see you again.” She wanted to say more, about how the circus missed him and his family but she knew it was a topic she shouldn’t bring up. No one wanted to be reminded of the deaths of their parents. “I was worried that I was going to spend the entire year sitting on my own.” She didn’t want to admit her true feelings about the place, that it was big and scary for fear of looking stupid. These people probably wouldn’t understand. But if they were Dick’s friends then Summer knew they must be nice people, it was still a little intimidating. “But what about you? What have you been doing all these years?” She eventually asked, curious to know how her friend had spent civilian life.
Eventually, though reluctantly making her way into the cafeteria. She watched the kids in line but had packed her own lunch today, unsure if she would have liked anything offered at the school. Looking at the food on offer though she realised her worries had been unfounded. Apparently the private school prided themselves on gourmet lunches. Still, after looking around she moved to sit over on her own in the corner of the lunch room. Now for most of the day Summer had her head down, trying not to draw attention to herself of be noticed. Now though, she felt a little more confident and actually looked around. Already she could make out the clique tables. The popular kids, the jocks, the nerds, as her eyes scanned over the room however they fell on one figure, walking over to a table with another group of students. Unconsciously she stood and began walking over to him, her hazel eyes fixed on that mop of black hair, completely forgetting about her lunch on her table. At first she thought maybe she had been mistaken. Even as she got closer she still wasn’t sure. It had been so long and he looked so different after all these years. Approaching the boy shyly, Summer tried to move into a position where she could see his eyes clearly. “Dick?” She asked quietly, looking at him hopefully. “Dick Grayson?”
