I'm an adult (most of the time) so I enjoy mature content and good stories. Most of the time you'll find me in some Sci Fi thing or another but I do sometimes end up in fantasy roleplays and ,in very rare occasions, slice of life stuff. I've dabbled in other sections of the GUild over the years but Casual Sci Fi seems to be my comfort zone. I'm probably the least intimidating person you'll ever meet and I'm always open to suggestions. I look forward to making some great stories with you all!
Val started the burn as instructed to push them into the eccentric orbit needed for a "slingshot". It was a fairly simplistic name for a rather complicated maneuver. The first burn was simple enough since they would only be pushing the periapsis up far enough to use the orbit's eccentricity to amplify their next burn. That will take place as they are falling towards the planet thus using the Earth's gravity to assist in accelerating to an escape orbit thus performing a 'slingshot' around the earth. They would still, of course, have to perform the same maneuver around the sun itself. "I'm sure you've plenty to do Doctor Johns. I'll be checkin' the reaction control thrusters in the mean time, felt a bit sluggish. Give a shout if ye break somethin'." Weapons:
It's a purse gun. Literally, she keeps it in her purse. It's a rare firearm that uses fairly common ammunition.
A Tanto-style blade usually tucked neatly in her Obi(belt). Made of advanced steel alloy.
She keeps a pair of push blades strapped in her sleeves or on her legs depending on what she's wearing.
A well crafted MonoBlade, for when good old fashioned steel just won't cut it. (pun intended) This is also the only weapon visible on her person at any given time. Sheathed and carried on her back for convenience.
Always kept in her bun and while not technically a weapon, has been used as such in the past.

Augmentations: Maria is what people call 'full borg' and she was one of the first to do it. Basically it means that she's forgone her natural body to get a completely cybernetic body. Her body is a Chiba A-Series Synthetic Custom with her own unique face. The only part of her that is all natural is her brain and spinal column. Her body isn't actually anything special. No hidden blades or hold out guns in the forearms, her legs don't extend to make her taller or jump further. Her body is just that, her body. Granted her cybernetic limbs are stronger than they look and her realskin has a kevlar weave to resist damage, on a scale of one to ten (where ten is an all natural body builder) Maria is a twelve. Aside from her cyborg body she has two interface plugs on the back of her neck and a built in cybermodem for chipping.
Equipment: Maria travels light and due to the availability of Arasaka resources she's never too far away from help. On her person she keeps a speed loader for her revolver, cellphone, wallet, and keys. Anything else she might need is typically requisitioned on site or from a drop by Arasaka.
NOTE: Cyber-Molecular Sclirosis is a fictional disease from a manga that is essentially a cancer mutated by the presence of cybernetic components in the body.
@Symphoni On the Guild players sometimes reserve posts on the first page for their Character Sheets so that you can reference them easily without having to sift through pages of OOC chatter. It's kind of like an old Guild custom to reserve posts but it's a bit pointless now that we have the Characters tab. It's still a pretty new feature so some people aren't used to it yet. Old habits die hard I guess. xD
