General Info
Name- Ito Shiori
Age- 15
Role- Student
Race- Undead human

Appearance-

Personality- Friendly, upbeat and inquisitive, if somewhat softly spoken and socially awkward. She is a bookworm and science nerd at heart, a dedicated member of the chemistry club despite her occasional bouts of clumsiness making experimenting alongside her a nerve-wracking experience. While she is a little self-conscious of her appearance, she doesn't dwell on it or let questions or remarks about her pale skin, sutures or clumsiness get to her. She came within an inch of death - why let anything ruin her second chance at life? Still, she does tend to wear long-sleeved shirts when possible and spends a lot of time indoors, and treats those of her friends who stand up for her like solid gold.

Biography- Shiori's life was pretty uneventful until the last year of middle-school. A few of her friends in her chemistry club were, unbeknownst to her, amateur mages with a penchant for mixing magic with mundane science. One afternoon Shiori stepped into the club room just as one such experiment backfired violently, injuring half the club and almost demolishing the building. Shiori bore the brunt of the explosion, however, and was killed. Wracked with varying degrees of guilt and fear of reprisals, some of the group decided to try and bring her back, using prohibited dark magic and necromancy to shore up the gaps where their own science failed.

It took over a week of work, but it worked. They were far from experts, though, and the end result wasn't perfect - Shiori was resurrected, but her body was a patchwork of stitches, saturated with magic, and she occasionally came down with periods of clumsiness. One of her teachers happened to be a mage as well, a graduate of Mahora Academy, and caught on to what had happened right away. He smoothed over the incident with the non-magical authorities and contained the information leak, quietly explaining the situation to Shiori's parents and contacting his alma mater to arrange for Shirori to be transferred to Mahora, deciding it would be the best way to monitor her without revealing the existence of magic any further.

Shiori herself is unaware of her recovery and transformation - as far as she knows, she survived thanks to extremely good luck and a surgical miracle, and she was transferred to Mahora to make use of their special facilities in the case of possible future complications.
Place of Origin- Earth

Abilities- Her occasional losses of coordination mean she isn't much of a front-line fighter, and she doesn't have much of a talent for magic. She is very resilient, though, and has an extremely high pain threshold. If or when she enters a pactio, her artifact would would open up her combat abilities to include alchemic bombs and healing potions.
Equipment- At the start of the RP, just her school gear. She has easy access to chemistry supplies and equipment, so she could whip up some mundane concoctions if required.

Heya guys, I'm back! ^^

I'm also jet-lagged as all hell XD. I'll see about making a post when I'm not feeling quite so bleh.
Ooh, interested! Although I won't be able to work on a CS for a few days.
That sounds good to me, so long as you don't mind holding off on initiating it for a few days ^^
Damn, I'll be heading off on my trip in the morning and I haven't had a chance to post >.<

Everyone should just assume that Shona is present and quietly doing her job for the next two weeks ^^ I'll still be able to post in the OOC occasionally with my phone, it's just the bigger IC posts that it tends to have problems with.
This sounds pretty cool - I've been playing The Secret World, and this is giving me similar vibes.

Sadly I'll be away from my nice stable Internet connection next week, so I shouldn't join any new RPs ^^; expressing interest anyway, I'll see how things stand when I get back.
I am present, but I will admit my interest is fading a bit. Probably mostly because I've been super busy with RL stuff recently and let this slip my mind.

Sorry to my partners >-<. I'll get a post up today if I can.
As Adrian moved out, Shona was right behind him – figuratively speaking, of course. She plotted her own course to the target site, not wanting to bunch up with the unit’s other sniper. Eventually, she set up on the next hill over from Adrian, hunkered down behind an almost-sheer rock face in the hilltop where a loop of road cut into the slope. Her own rifle barrel was resting on the grass at the top of the hill, her optics scanning the base below.

Her HUD was painted in an overlay constructed from the data coming in from the spotters and her own optics package – what she couldn’t see herself was visible as light silhouettes. Her priority targets were lit up for her – the SAM trucks and ballistic AA turrets on this side of the base. The two milspec GEARs were lit up too – they were worrying, a glitch in the plan, even as the engineer in her head admired the six-legged beauty.

“I’m set up… eyes on bad guys, ready to engage…” She had reported in over the general channel, her voice low. Even though she could have yelled and screamed inside her cockpit and not alerted the opposition, it was had to shake the instinct to keep quiet. She was actually pretty glad to have both Silver and Adrian’s calm voices in her ear. She tapped the other sniper’s channel, frowning in concentration inside her helmet. “I hear you. Hit hard, move fast, trucks on the right, roger.”

Her machine wasn’t a dedicated sniper unit, so she took a little extra time to line up her shots, swinging her gun between the two a few times. She was worried that her relatively light rifle wouldn’t pack the punch she needed to do this fast… she shook her head and forced that aside. No point second-guessing now.

She settled her crosshairs on the first SAM and, as Adrian’s rifle cracked, pulled her own trigger. Two in the battery and one right under the rear axle. The last shot had barely left the barrel before she swung the rifle around, targeted the other truck, and fired again. Three more thumps from her weapon, two more hits, smacking into the truck’s cab and missile racks. She felt a twinge of annoyance at the misses, but her systems registered two kills. It was time to get out of there.

With thumping footfalls, the Rapier ducked down behind cover and started running, its pilot already plotting out a new firing position. “SAMs down! Moving to sweep on those turrets!”
Happy birthday, Cart! ^^
