So has anyone else ever spent several hours on an RP, reviewed it, posted it, and then thought “This is garbage.”?

Once my drawing and sketching abilities improve a little more, I intend to start incorporating my own art into future RP’s of mine.

@Bishop, regarding the inheritance point, the thing is, there are no relatives to anyone from this town.

Your character will have received a very convincing forged letter from a local realtor, who claims that your character is the only legitimate claimer to a rundown mansion estate that seems to have not been lived in for decades now.

The letter your character will have received is an edited forgery several people throughout the past decades have received.

BAIT.

Well honestly @Smiter19, we still haven't even came to a "unanimous" decision.

We have 2 potential players so far, you and @2plus2isnot5, and he voted for the detective rout.
We still need one more player.

I'm assuming the detective plotline is fine with you.
Ehhh no @Smiter19.

....Well, the only way I could see that working is maybe a close friend or loved one of his was one of the people who vanished in or around Woodswick and he insists on accompanying the detective(s).

But even then there's no reason he has to be a convict or why that would be relevant.

I'm looking for a casual, everyday cast of 2-3 characters.
Not ex Navy SEALS, former mafia bosses on the run, corporate CEO's, or Italian boxers.
Just normal everyday people.
Good points @2plus2isnot5.

Perhaps a pair of detectives sent out to investigate yet another mysterious disappearance around town.

I wish to avoid "paranormal ghost hunters" though as the town has never been known for spooky happenings, just creepy townspeople and a series of known disappearances throughout the past many decades.

Woodswick, a small town forgotten by the modern world, rarely visited and commonly avoided.

First settled in the late sixteen-hundreds, this small Massachusetes countryside hamlet holds a foreboding past.
An unknown history of evil doings and dark omens.
It's people, reclusive and excluding, rarely travel outside of their town, and generally maintain a cold, uncaring disposition towards outsiders.

Through the years, strange disappearances have occurred in the region surrounding the town.
The locals have always claimed ignorance, simply stating that the woods are dangerous.

Those few that visit Woodswick always describe it as a dark, unmoving town where time never seems to pass, that Woodswick is almost it's very own world.

However, no one truly knows the secrets of Woodswick, of it's evil, sadistic past or of the dark hearts of the townsfolk.
To this very day, this sleepy little town remains a core of evil, where a single mistake from centuries past has left it as a cursed shell of its former self.

So, as you can see, I have cooked up a concept for a survival-horror RP centered around a dark, brooding countryside town with an evil past.

Sadly, I am suffering from a short spell of writer's block, and am having a bit of trouble creating a proper plotline for the RP itself.

Basically, I'm struggling to create a story arch for a group of travelers to come to this stick-in-the-woods town.

Campers? Seems cliche.

Private investigators or detectives? Maybe.

A family who received a strange letter of inheritance from an unknown relative? Possibly.

Basically, I am I need of feedback and "voting" so that the proper and most desirable storyline for this setting can be developed.

I am intending for this to be a 3-4 player Roleplay overall, meaning myself and 2-3 others.

So, if you are truly interested then please drop in. Please note that I would prefer you to only post/comment here if you are truly interested in this idea and would like to invest your time into this. Please no drive-by's.

(More detail about Woodswick, it's shady past, as well as rules, expectations, and etcetera will be divulged in the official OP and here in discussion as well.)
Marvelous. @Universorum
May I join this or is it full?
@Super Duper

'Didn't even realize I posted that here until you mentioned me. -______-

Sorry about that, that was supposed to be posted elsewhere. Someone ditched me it seems and that more or less was a last attempt at getting their attention after 2 days of no PM response.

Granted I had just woke from a nap I posted this, so blame that on exhaustion.

Sorry! Everything is good on my end.

Now, regarding your question;

Feel free to in this case.
I'm assuming your going to incorporate her showing Maddison to her room and maybe a blink more?

If so that's fine, just ensure you maintain Beatrice's sweet complimentary forty-or-so year old lady demeanor and personality.

I guess once you've edited your post we could skip ahead to Blake arriving home from work perhaps?
(Maddison kept herself preoccupied with whatever you choose awaiting his arrival.)
....
@Super Duper

As the two had progressed on through the house, they came to a simple wooden staircase with red carpeting just past the living room, which lead up to the second floor.

Beatrice was about to transcend the staircase when Maddison began questioning if Blake had a wife and family, causing Beatrice to instantly halt from taking the first step onto the staircase.

She turned to Maddison calmly and said,"No dear. Your the only child he has, and he hasn't been married since he and your mother divorced.
I believe he did date on and off when he was in Manhattan for several years, but from what little he told me none of the women he dated went very far.
And I don't believe he's even been on a single date since he moved back here seven years ago. His work keeps him absorbed for the most part."

She turned and began walking up the stairs, the carpet totally muffling her already delicate steps.

The stairs lead to a long hallway.
The milky white wall was decorated with simple framed paintings and candlestick holders, and an end table halfway down the hall with a bouquet of potted roses resting in the tables' middle.

There were three doors on the left side of the hall, and two doors on the right, and a large oak brown door at the end of the hallways with a strange device on the wall nearby, the device sat parallel to the doorknob.
