Name: Jack 'Shade' Shadow

age:19

race: Shadowboy

gender: Male

appearance: Jet Black skin and a mop of mid length straight black hair, Slender when his form is stable but has a tendency to stretch himself a lot when moving around places i.e. growing his legs to get places faster, stretching an arm to grab far away object, etc. His body is completely textureless and looks like a sort of inky black ooze more than actual living flesh

powers: Can become incorporeal (take on the appearance of smoke when doing so, so not invisible), Shapeshifting (his form is basically liquid so he can change his shape to almost anything, but he only has the amount of shadow that currently makes up his body so he can't get any bigger or any smaller. He can make himself taller and stretch limbs and things by thinning out his mass) Can store items inside his body (this works by turning an item into the shadow that makes up his body then turning it back again, he cannot effect the shape or size of any object he is currently storing and they do not allow him to stretch any further)

weakness: Sunlight (doesn't hurt him just puts him in a bad mood and limits his ability to change his form, when in sunlight he tends to change into his smoke/incorporeal form to avoid it, obviously meaning he cannot touch anything) Loud Scraping noises or especially high pitched noises

background: Born out of darkness as a reaction to something pure and good being brought into the world. Fed up with playing tricks on humanity throughout the first 10 years of his life so he enrolled in the academy in an attempt to find something more interesting to do.

personality: Very jokey and mischievous, hyper-energetic rarely not doing something, literally never stops smiling even when life isn't going his way only stops smiling in a really, really dire situation and is likely to go completely insane if that where to occur. Although he is very playful and a big practical joker he does have a lot of love for his friends, if anything happens to them he's the first one to help even if he doesn't take most of life seriously. Sort of crazy, prone to random sentences and outbursts of nonsensical laughter without telling anyone what was funny. Is likley to show up to 80% of his classes, although he will usually just show up to mess around he is actually very smart and does pay attention like a hawk.

classes: Magical History, Necromancy, Runes and Runecasting, Blood Magic(signed up as a joke because he thought he couldn't bleed), mortal-magical politics, Advanced spells and Advanced Potions

other: Shadowboys are a species of all male imp like creatures that basically play relatively harmless practical jokes on normal people for kicks.Not actually evil, just playful. As they are born from darkness when something equally good and noble is brought into the world they have no families.

I made up some classes and stuff hope these are okay will change them if the classes are supposed to be something different

classes: Magical classes? Like are we just going to base these of harry potter or will there be an actual list of stuff that we will do for classes.

My creature idea was just for something called a shadow boy. Creatures made out of shadow able to change their physical appearance and become incorporeal like a ghost and they have jet black skin and hair .

Is that okay or a too OP?

For the OOC you could maybe put up a little paragraph that shows you what the academy is like ? Maybe in the style of a beginning of year speech by the head teacher/principal ?

The Ascended Rise RP (Having Fun Being OP)

Okay so I'm coming back to RPing from a long break and been having this idea for an RP set in the 'real world' in a similar style to books like the skulduggery Pleasant and the keys to the kingdom series.

So the characters would be normal people in the real world but with a lot of hidden powers, pretty much anything you can think of as powerful as you like. Then once we have a group of basically indestructible bad-ass characters living double lives in the normal world we start RPing with fights against equally as overpowered characters, something along the lines of super humans who just cause a ridiculous amount of destruction.

Just thought it'd be fun for people to not have to worry about being OP and to get really creative with their powers and abilities. Obviously because of the nature of the RP there would have to be some limitations but they'll all come out in the Character Sheets.

I'll write up a sheet and my character after I'm sure that there's some sort of interest, I have a lot of the details planed up just didn't wanna give you guys a huge text dump so if you've got a question throw it my way and I'll see if I've got an answer figured out.

Figured that a lack of details might be putting some people off so gonna expand where I can in hopes that it catches some attention.

For powers you can choose 5 for each character, the only limit is that you cannot just put 'immortality' down as a power, that's lame and you should feel lame for putting that down. The powers can be pretty much anything and really don't worry about having dupes of other peoples powers there is gonna be some overlap probably, you also need to put what each power can actually do and describe it's limitations.

On the character sheet (below) there's a Strength and Speed stat, each character gets 15 points and sinks them into the two of them however they like, will post a list of what each level of that ability actually means once things progress and people actually want to start making characters.

Each of the characters will be assumed to have more resistance to damage and stronger than average strength/speed (regardless of how many points you put into something you're still way stronger and faster than normal people) so you don't need to put down super speed or super strength as powers.

Example Character

(this is just to give you an idea this is not the final character sheet and this is not my character)

Name: Ivo Rayne
Age: 24
Appearance: Scurffy mid height man in baggy clothes, unshaven with bags under his eyes. Messy mop of straight brown hair. Usually seen wearing his favorite hoody and jeans combo.
Power 1 - Life Sense ( can sense when there are other living beings present and can also tell their emotional state and things like heart fluctuations and brain activity allowing him to sense motive and even tell when people are lying)
Power 2 - Blinking ( can teleport to anywhere that he can see)
Power 3 - Pyrokenesis (can form fire with his mind, anything from a small spark to a firestorm, the more he summons the more drained of energy he is)
Power 4 etc
Power 5 etc
Personality:Huge slacker who only looks out for himself, lazy, scruffy and completely disorganized. Not very quick to anger but has outbursts if pushed to far.
