Bio

Hey, hi, I'm MK, and I'm a roleplayer so, this looks like the right place! I love to GM, kick plots around and talk character concepts. I'm a collaborative writer at heart, and I like a lot of different genres. I'm into Sci-Fi to Supernatural, Avengers to Apocalypse, Wizards to Westerns, Zombies to Zootopia. Not really Zootopia. I panicked and needed something that started with a Z for alliteration. Nothing against Zootopia - I'm more an Emperor's New Groove sort. Cyberpunk is up there too. I'm a gamer - a PC Gamer, we're like the vegans of the gaming world. I quote movies. I binge Netflix. I hang out with my dog. I have a lot of different interests, but I'm not afraid to do research - I'll gladly write anywhere with engaging characters and plotlines.

The Galley, Sometime morningish, Greenleaf Day 4

“It’s hard to say,” Cyd chuffed, giving another dejected look to the cortex. “It all depends on our next destination. Pen didn’t say where we were headed, and I don’t want to trip anything up jacking into the navigation system. I can ask her when she gets back from this meet-up with her Dad.”

“You would think someone would give us a head up on where the ship was gorram heading.” Mathias groused. “When is Pen anyway? I didn’t hear any flitting and I didn’t smell any patchouli and I’m pretty sure we take off soon.” He pointed out rolling a coin between his fingers. “Kinda need a pilot for that.”

"Pen, Pen, Pen." Isaac rolled his eyes as he came out from behind the dressing curtain the trio set up in the shuttle. "Ever since this whole…" he waved his hand trying to think of the word, "puma thing…or-" He paused, not feeling like that was right. "Or...Dad? I dunno, that night was fuzzy. Point is, she's all you guys talk about ever since." he griped.

“One day you’ll learn to appreciate it when you meet folk that don’t talk down at you like kak on the bottom of their boot, or with suspicion for no reason other than you exist. She is nice to us. I respect that.” Mathias explained.

"Great, can we meet those folk after breakfast? I'm starving!" The youngest Skye whined.

“Attention, all hands, and passengers. This is the First Mate. The Captain’s called for a meeting, fifteen minutes from now, in the galley. Be there.”

"But breakfast!" Isaac gasped in dismay, seeing his dream of waffles, sausage, and strawberry shortcake evaporated before his eyes.

“Do we spoil him? I feel like we spoil him …” Mathias chuckled looking to his twin.

“Ja nee,” Cyd said with a wry grin. “We spoil him. Breakfast is one of your four favorite meals of the day, Yobo. Is everyone presentable?” She eyed over the sibs. Isaac looked like he’d gone one-on-one with a Python, like anyone not from Greenleaf would believe that. And Mathias - she’d rewrapped his hand that morning, the eggshell membrane was working its magic but it’d still need time to heal up.

“By presentable do you mean no one in this room smells like sex, vomit, or puma piss then yes … we are presentable.” Mathias nodded.

"Keepin' the the bar loooooow!" Isaac concurred with pride as he slid his flat palm outwards in a smooth motion.

Cyd sniffed the air just to make sure, grimacing, then deciding it wasn’t bad, it was just boy. She nodded in approval. “Lekker. Let’s see what’s bosbefok, and get Isaac something to eat. Maybe it’s about the next hop, so we can firm up the job,” she added hopefully as she slipped the datapad into her thigh pocket for safekeeping.

Mathias stood up stretching. “Wonder why they're calling everyone together. You don’t think it has anything to do with the shit they tossed overboard, the dead fed, or the crazy chick who chucked herself in the middle of the ocean during a raging storm? No, I doubt it … nothing weird on this ship … like it never happened, right?” He snorted. “I bet the Captain’s mobbed up. He has to be.”

Isaac's mouth dropped open. "Oh my gawd….that would make so much sense." He whispered in astonishment.

“Right!?” Mathias said mussing Isaac’s hair.

"He is far too good looking to be mobbed up," Cyd insisted. And who among them wasn't a little skelm?

The trio piled into the galley and found it empty at the moment.

“Guess we're the first ones here. Who wants bacon!” Mathias said, arming himself with a skillet.

Isaac's hand was first to jut into the air as he waved it frantically to ensure his brother would see.
Do bop she doo

Greenleaf docks, late late late night day three

Cyd gingerly checked on the boys, who were both still sound asleep with little interest in rousing. They both groaned and protested, Mathias covering his head with Isaac’s pillow, Isaac covering his head with... Cyd briefly wondered where THAT came from. Kari, maybe? She shook her head. It definitely wasn't hers. Days and nights sometimes got a little jumbled when you’re hoog op. She managed to get some downtime sleep in after a brief exchange with the pilot and a quick cup of coffee to take the edge off. Now, hours later, sleep once again wanted to stay just out of reach, and Cyd briefly wondered how the pilot was holding up... How the pilot's pop was holding up. That had to be a shock. She hummed a few bars of Still Alive. Music. That's what was missing, She scrolled, looking for something appropriate for exploration.

The ship was quiet. “Toooo quiet,” Cyd whispered to herself, followed by a short, mischievous giggle that echoed in the cargo bay. She’d seen one or two other passengers milling around, but the entire crew had been gone unless you counted SAMANTHA. Cyd slid the length of the railing, before spinning on her toes, mulling over the benefits of being left on a ship nearly alone. Lookie, lookie. Big old empty ship at large. Lekker. Calf muscles be damned.

Thinking about it, Cyd did, in fact, count Sam, not really as a crew member, but more as a digital watchdog. All zeroes and ones, and bright, beautiful code begging to be looked at, but the next-hop should provide a bit of keyboard tap-tap time. Corridors and hallways! The rest of the crew were out and about. Pen, she knew, was visiting her father and explaining she wasn’t dead, which could take hours or minutes, depending on his reaction. Ladders and hatches! The rest of them, she’d heard had gone out to a kitsch bar, some treehouse tourist trap. Normally it would be the sort of thing she’d have pressed for. Pirate’s Cove, the Jungle Cruise tour, kitsch made the best photo ops. Bins and Boxes! But, Greenleaf photos had already been taken and sent, they were present and accounted for, so there wasn’t a real need for more, and the boys did need a little rest and recovery. Isaac was still banged up with snake hickies, riding the crash of his party favors, and Mathias’ gashed and bandaged hand wasn’t ideal for making bunny ears in photos. Catwalks and stairwells!

She scowled when the cortex rang out with a new message, cursing Isaac and his willingness to give out her number for waves until she saw the sender and subject line. It was enough to take the wind from her sails, and reluctantly she hopped down from the galley table to scroll the rest of the wave. Her shoulders dropped and she let out a puff of air, switching off the music in her headphones. “I know, I know.” Cyd said to no one in particular, filling a glass half full with water to take back to the shuttle. The sun would be coming up soon anyway. People were due to get back. She looked forward to seeing how everything went with the pilot and her papa, but that too would have to wait.

It was time to wake up the boys. “We got work to do.”

Cyd kept her eyes closed. At 125 beats per minute, the repetitive melody meant to quiet her brain just wasn’t keeping up. The hot shower may have washed away the smeared make-up and tangled schlock of hair, but as Isaac snored and Mathias slept soundly, her thoughts were still stuck in overdrive.

Breathe. Four, Seven, Eight. Inhale four seconds, Hold for seven, exhale for eight. Repeat. Focus on breathing, let everything else go, simple in theory, but sometimes ‘things’ just wouldn’t leave! Inhale Pen. Hold. Mathias could get caught. Exhale. Isaac’s broken heart. Inhale. 53R3N1TY Hold. The next job. Exhale. Repeat. Inhale. Inhale. Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Plan B. Cyd’s eyes snapped back open. Sleep was being an elusive little prick. Coffee. Maybe coffee would help slow things down. There was always coffee.

“Padikos,” she whispered to her older brother when he stirred as she got up, indicating she was hungry. He mumbled something about bobotie as she pulled on a button up over her tank. Even conditioned air was lank hot on Greenleaf. “Ja, nee,” she replied, patting his arm reassuringly before slipping out of the shuttle.

Feeling refreshed after a shower that scrubbed away the sweat, remnants of paint, and jungle from her body, Penelope felt much lighter. As if all the sins of her past had been washed away with the clarity and certainty her father's words had given her. Another option than what she thought possible - what she'd not allowed herself to consider a possibility. She was just about the most cheerful picture carrying a bundle of laundry tied up in her sheets and thrown over her shoulder.

Once it was deposited, she was dressed for the weather outdoors and there she'd go. Her last day home would fully be enjoyed. At home.

Just as she crossed from the galley to the catwalk, however, Cyd was coming from the shuttle the siblings rented out. Penelope's smile brightened. "Mornin' - or afternoon, as it is. Seems we got separated last night."

“Howzit?!” Cyd greeted, slightly startled. “Sorry, that happens, lank crowded, oweh? Did you have fun though? Trade kandi?”

"I must've … things are a little fuzzy, if I'm honest. Got back in one piece though, and then some." She pulled another stray leaf from the bundle that she'd brung 'round her shoulder and rested by her foot, flashing it to Cyd with a more sheepish turn to her smile. Really, her brain still felt wobbly, like it was sloshing around this way and that. "How about you and the fellas?"

Cyd smiled and nodded. “They’re ibhabalazi,” she explained, putting prayer hands to her cheek as she tilted her head, indicating they were sleeping it off. “The DJ was lekker, he had insane drops. I hope you tag to the next one, good time for all.”

Penelope recalled the way the alcohol she'd started off with made the music curve and flow around her. There had been plenty of faceless dance partners to enjoy it with. Flashes of lights and sound captured a few moments of the night in memory, but once she tasted the first 'kandi' trade someone placed on her tongue, that's when things took on a more streaked and hazed color of rainbows across the night. Thankfully, this open invitation meant she hadn't done anything too out-there. "I just might."

There was a more appreciative turn to her soft smile a beat before she looked as if something just occurred to her. It wasn't a recollection that told her one way or another if she'd gotten more than friendly with the pretty lady before her, which had crossed her mind enough to warrant a worry, but rather that there was something special for Cyd and her brothers in her bag. Just before going to rummage in her bag with her free hand, she had given the universal 'one sec' gesture. Her fingers found purchase on the neck of a long bottle and she pulled the faux glass free. "Here, this is for you and your brothers. Thanks for having me along for'a good time."

"It's pure water, from the crystal clears further in the jungle here on Greenleaf. If you chill it, it's the most refreshin'." Penelope said as she handed the resealed bright blue bottle, chosen as a slight hommage to who she was handing it to. The surface was bare except coordinates written where a label could have been.

“Shot, mate!” Cyd exclaimed. “Err… I mean, thanks, thank you.” She couldn’t wait to share it with the boys. She took a moment to admire the bottle. Reusable! At least Greenleaf learned from the Earth that was! “I love the container! One of my favorite colors. No gifts needed though, oweh? Your company is enough. Wish I had more of it at the rave. I saw you ducked out. I know it can be loud, and crowded, and sometimes people get handsy.”

RAVE ON!

“You sure you want to wear that, Lolo - this is your last chance to change,” Cyd warned right before they left the ship.

Isaac took one last glance at a reflective surface and practiced a few poses under his pleather hoodie, throwing a pout, flashing a peace sign. Satisfied, he gave a confident head shake to his sister. "Nah, I'm good."

Mathias was already prepared with the basics in a string bag, including water, a few ‘party favors’, and some basic first aid stuff. It was a jungle out there, literally.

Cyd looped an arm through Isaac’s, and another around Mathias. Pen said she might catch up, she might not, the pilot was like a leaf on the wind,, she thought with a smile, even though Greenleaf had little to no wind what-so-ever. The air was so humid that you could see a haze around the moon and every street lamp, her skin was already damp by the time they left the Firefly class ship in favor of a party. “This is gonna be lekker!” she said happily, her sneakers flashing with every step. Kandi - plastic beaded jewelry ran half the length of one arm, right for giving, left for getting.

"Speaking of fun!" Mathias chimed in with a clap, the colorful beaded bracelets decorating his arms rattling a bit, as the thump of music drew closer. "What's your poison tonight?" He asked spinning around to face his siblings. "Down or up … who's riding high to coast on the beats and light? And who is staying on the ground to feel the beat in the bones and grind of the crowd?" He asked with theatrical flair.

Isaac looked to his brother and raised a pointer finger as if summoning a maitre d', "I'll be going up, my good man.

“Down if you please,” Cyd chimed in with her preference. “These are my shuffle shoes. I need the drop!” Plus it would be easier to keep an eye on her sibs. Mathias might be the oldest, but that was in boy years.

Mathias produced a little baggie with a green colored pill inside with a snap of his fingers. “Jelly Belly for Cyd …” said passing the treat to Cyd. “... and Cross My Heart for Isaac … drink lots of water.” He said pulling a baby blue pill in a baggie out of thin air.

Isaac admired the innocuous little tablet as he held it up to the light. "A tiny little tiny thing like this….” he said as he drifted his pill next to the one in Cyd's hand, “and you’ll be floating on a cloud.” He then tapped his sister's pill with his like two champagne flutes as he downed his with a loll of his head.

“Are you rolling?” Cyd asked her twin after her Jelly Belly dissolved.

“Let me swallow this Red Devil and answer that for you …” He said putting the thin round wafer on his tongue. “ … now we are ready to party!”

Cyd giggled, the spring in her step getting livlier as they got closer to the source of the music. “Let’s make some bad choices,” she shouted as the Jelly Belly started working its magic, and the three siblings folded into the crowd.
What in-game time of day/night were you thinking?

The Skye's & Pen have a rave to get to at around 10 pm Greenleaf time. (It starts at nightfall, but they're the fashionably late sort,) and they'll be back around ... morning. We're always more than happy to JP!

Mathais was always digging to the bottom of his dresser which really was just a set of milk crates stacked in a corner. Scattered around were various outfits and random clothing and he was only just digging into the 'Party' clothing. He pulled out a pair of leather pants, frowned, making a face and tossed it aside. Like hell he was wearing anything leather in the freaking Jungle!

He was shooting for airey and comfortable! Not lose half his weight from sweating! Mathais continues to dig, putting out a net shirt. He seriously considered it and put it in the maybe pile.

The makeshift curtain that separated a portion of the shuttle pulled back to reveal Isaac in a shiny, brightly colored pleather outfit. He posed proudly as he looked for feedback. "So...what do ya think?" He shifted between a couple of stances as he pulled up the pleather hoodie and gave an exaggerated supermodel pout.

Mathias had a devilish grin spread on his face. "It's perfect." Emphasizing with a pair of thumbs up.

Isaac opened his arms as if to say "I know, right?"

“You know it’s still hot, oweh?” Cyd asked, looking up from her datapad. “You’re going to be lank chafe ten minutes in.”

"That's generous." Mathis muttered.

"Pssh!" Isaac scoffed. "Y'all just reek of jealousy." He said as he wrinkled his nose. He walked up to his brother, his face about chest height, leaned in and gave a few sniffs. "Yup," he looked up, "jealous." He added as he gave a poke to Mathias's chest that shifted into a mime of an explosion with his hands as he backed away mouthing "Boom!"

Mathias looked to his sister. "Imma let nature take its course. You know, like a documentary."

Cyd was a little softer with her approach and made a note to pack a little baby powder for the inevitable. It was so much easier when she would just set out his clothes for the day.

"I feel like I should bring our emergency kit … but then he won't learn." Mathis said looking truly conflicted.

Isaac couldn't be bothered to listen to his siblings' sidebar. He was too busy admiring himself in the mirror, trying out different poses and pouts that in his mind were guaranteed to break hearts. "Sorry to disappoint, ladies," he muttered to himself in his little one man roleplay, "but this one's taken." Just because he was unavailable didn't mean he didn't relish in the attention.

Cyd shot a side glance to her brother, preening himself in the mirror, thinking heat stroke may have set in early. s “You want me to paint your face up, Lo lo?” She held up an eyeliner pen and some neon grease make-up.

"Cool!" The offer pulled Isaac's attention away from his imaginary fans as he trotted over to his sister. He spun a chair nearby backwards and straddled it, leaning his arms against the top of the back. He then rested his chin on his arms giving Cyd a steady canvas on which she could work.

“What’ll it be? Dayglo dragon? Clockwork Orange? Dealer’s Choice?” She asked, dabbing a sponge into the paint. “Something that says sorry bunnies, I’m spoken for, “ she snapped her fingers, and stepped to his left. “Right side single, left… you’re spoken for, oweh? Yobo, you’re up next.” She dabbed the white paint onto half of his face, and with the fine tipped brush, she outlined half of a sugar skull, dabbing orange, green and blue in the mix around his eye.

"Should I get the lasso? Tie him down while you finish?" Mathias chuckled and he laughed at their makeshift table as Issac squirmed away.

Cyd worked quickly, Isaac wasn’t known for his patience or for sitting still, and after about 20 minutes, he managed to escape with only one small spot smudged before she had the chance to spray it to keep in place.

The moment Cyd finished, Isaac was already moving to hop out of the chair and admire her handiwork in the mirror. "Lekker!" He gave his approval in an awed exhale as he craned his head and neck in all different angles to get a better look at his sister's design.

"Who knew all this time all we needed was a mirror to keep him entertained." Mathias snarked while watching his baby brother preen himself.

“It’s a fact like a cow,” Cyd agreed, patting the stool for Mathias next. “Yobo, sit.”

"Do I have to? I'll just get all sweaty and it'll smear and get messed up …" Mathias said in what might have sounded like a whine.

“Nobody goes to just blend in,” she reminded her sib.

Mathias groaned and Ultimately relented. “Fiiiiinnnnnnne.” He said draggin himself to the mercy of his sister.

“Should I get the lasso?” Cyd teased.

“Phss … like you could catch me, Beep beep …” Mathias snickered.

"He's more the 'leash' type anyway." Isaac chimed in, still admiring himself in the mirror. He was trying to decide if he looked more awesome hood up or hood down as he checked over and over again.

“Only if she’s very pretty and the safe word is ‘Keep Going’.” Mathias winked at his little brother.

“Aikona,” Cyd chastised, flicking her brother on the forehead before applying a hefty amount of eyeliner to his left eye. Before long, he had a dream catcher surrounding one eye down to his cheek. “Close,” She ordered before hitting him with a hefty dose of setting spray. Standing back to admire her work, she gave a smile as her seal of approval. Just his outfit remained. “You should wear mesh,” she decided.

“I knew you were going to say that.” Mathias smirked cracking an eye open after she was done.

Cyd would have said it was twintuition , but Mathias never would have let her live it down.

Isaac bounced back over to his sibs and leaned on Mathias's shoulder to inspect Cyd's art. He pursed his lips as if in deep consideration and gave a small nod. "Nice." He complemented. What he really meant was Glad it's not better than mine.

"What can I say Cyd missed her calling as an artist. Could be doing an entire art gallery of elaborate body paint on naked men and women."

"Yeah," Isaac agreed, "artists are weirdos like that."

“Coulda, woulda, still might,” Cyd said playfully, liking the idea of that. She tossed a dry make-up sponge at Isaac. “Depends on how good the night goes.”

"With the way Isaac's dressed? Probably end the night with him getting hooked up to a saline bag." Mathis said getting up to put on the net shirt Cyd recommended.

“Still wouldn’t be the worst rave we’ve been to,” Cyd answered with a chuckle.

"Jungle rave? I admit I'm curious how they do. Gotta be some really interesting party favors." Mathias mused with a broad grin.

"Five creds there'll be a naked chick with a snake." Isaac added with a smirk before pausing. "Too obvious?" He added, laughing.

“Seen it on Santos,” Cyd reminded him.

"Hmm … Santos." Mathias said fondly.

“Let me go get painted up,” Cyd said, fixing her hair into a loose ponytail, “then we’ll go make some bad decisions and good memories, oweh?”

"That should be our family motto." The eldest Skye mused.

Slipping through the chute for the first several floors was fun, but after a while, Isaac began to appreciate just how long they had to go in this fabric tube as the blood started rising to his head. He put up with it for a few more flights but it started to get pretty uncomfortable. "Hey!", he shouted up to his brother, "this is giving me a headache! I'm gonna turn myself around, k?"

"DO NOT. I repeat DO NOT do that. Just exit on the next floor … if you can or have the common decency to pass out and I will kick you repeatedly in the ass the rest of the way down." Mathias warned, ready to kick him anyway.

"Pssh. That'll be the only time you kick my ass!" The considerably smaller Skye laid the bravado on thick. Still, he considered his brother's suggestion and felt for an opening that might indicate another floor. He fished around and pushed off to the side, coming out, he guessed, somewhere around the 20th floor. The teen spilled out onto the balcony and staggered to his feet, stretching and cracking his back. "Oooh! Much better!"

“Lolo, c’mon!” Cyd said impatiently, checking the time. “Before something else happens.”

"Remember this time I can kick you in the head if you mess around! Now get back in the hole!" Mathias muffled voice chided from the cloth tube.

"Alright! Alright!" Isaac whined as he re-entered the cloth intestine, feet first and continued the rest of the way down.

The pair went down without further complaint or issue and quickly enough Isaac's feet finally hit dirt!

Cyd waited at the bottom, antsy as Issac on a random day until the diminutive “scientist” emerged from the tube with the help of a fireman who helped steady him on his feet. Mathias followed after, and the middle Skye was finally able to unclench her white-knuckled fists.

Isaac took the firefighter's arm in assistance as he exited the tube. "This man! He saved me!" Isaac laid it on thick, pointing to the hero "security guard". "Please," he implored, clutching the fireman's arm and pointing to Mathias's hand, "he's injured!"

Mathias twitched, resisting the urge to slap his brother upside the head. Mathias wobbled on his feet a bit. "I'm fine, really … " he said through his test with a strained smile. "... I'll be fine. You know white coats. Dramatic." He said with a forced laugh.

“We should have you looked over,” the firefighter said, nodding to a row of ambulances, helping out anyone with minor injuries.

"Really it's just a scratch." Mathias said downplaying it. He did not want to be here any longer then he absolutely had to.

“I’ll take him over,“ Cyd offered, “Least I can do for a hero,” She made a mental note to slap her younger brother upside the head later.

Mathias gave a sigh and relented. Seriously he could have hugged her right there and then. "Alright … alright … I'm going, I'm going." He said surrendering.

“They may want to check you too,” Cyd told Isaac. For head injuries, she thought bitterly. Cyd led Mathias by the elbow towards the row of ambulances, turning them down an Alley the minute the firefighters turned their attention away.

Cyd let out a slow breath, moving boxes around on the screen, trying to keep eyes everywhere. Time check. Camera Check. Sib Check. Downloads. “One more file to go, Lolo.”

"So long as I don't get a whale penis codename." Isaac bristled. "Stupid dork." He grumbled as he tapped on the edges of the keyboard waiting for the download to finish. All in all, this whole thing might go pretty painlessly. He patted at the plastic housing as he watched the little completion bar slowly fill. "Too bad we couldn't BASE jump or do some sort of exciting escape like in all of those action flicks." He said to no one in particular. He spent quite a bit of his free time consuming low budget action and spy shows on how sister's cortex. "It's never as exciting as on the vids." He complained.

“You don’t have the weight to BASE jump from this height,” Cyd said rationally. “You’d get tossed around like a leaf, end up lost in the jungle. Mathias… he should be okay.”

"Only because he has such a fat head." Isaac giggled.

“Says the guy who got his stuck in a cannon,” Cyd quipped back absently, focusing her attention on the screens. Time check, camera, sibs, downloads. That wasn’t the order of importance, mind you, but they all needed to be watched.

"He could try and weight lift? Or just strap some weights to his feet." Mathias suggested.

"Zip line?" The younger Skye continued suggesting. "Shoot an arrow at a neighboring building with a grappling hook attachment."

"That only works in the movies." Mathias scoffed.

"Fly over train heist!" Isaac offered with excitement.

"Don't be stupid … who even do that?" You could hear the eye roll in Mathias's tone.

“Focus,” Cyd pleaded, regretting her decision to kid around with them in the first place. Time check. Cameras. Sibs. Shit! “Mathias, take a hard right, you got a gaggle of suits coming from the left.”

"I see 'em." Mathias acknowledged keeping his head down and giving ample room, his shoulder nearly brushing against the wall to stay out of the way. It was phenomenal how with the right costume how invisible you can become. In an office like this it was all the easy to move unnoticed.

“Your mark is next to the corner office on the south side, you’ll see a reception area, and then it’s a straight walk. Mark is a blond ponytail, wearing blue on black,” Cyd studied the woman for a moment. “Cute, little older than us, tragic fringe on her forehead, but she’ll be the one smiling ear to ear because she…” Cyd deleted a few lines quickly, wrangling the virus back up, “just unfoked the terminal. You’re up.” Sibs. Download.

Mathias slowed and shortened his stride just a hair, sipping a bit of water he had nabbed from the cooler. He looked away as if something else had caught his interest, Mathais wanted to sell this after all and bumped right into the poor girl as she was making a hasty exit from the cubicle. The water in the cup went flying.

"Oh! OH! I am SO sorry!" Mathias said, quickly digging out a napkin from his pocket. "It's just water I swear! I wasn't looking where I was going, it was totally on me …" He apologized trying to hastily but politely wipe off the excess water from the poor women.

“No, no, it’s fine,” she told him, taking the napkin from him to dry off. “I only wear stain resistant, so, even if it were red wine,” she caught a glimpse of his blue eyes and smiled. “Not that you’d be drinking red wine, at work, I mean. Maybe after work you would. Oh, I’m not not suggesting drinking with me, or that we get a drink, you know what, this has HR written all over it. Thanks for the uh… water.”

"Maybe … you I mean I would never assume, just don't often have call to drink wine and …" Mathais fumbled his words. " … not that I think it's not nice or anything, it's perfectly fine. Okay I am going to take my foot out of my mouth." Mathias cleared his throat. "If you … you need anything, later or after work I mean you least I can do for having two left feet … just look around the one security guy fumbling around." He said with a weak but bright smile.

“I might,” She offered. “I’m Kari, from 74. IT. “

"Ooh la la!" Isaac teased in his brother's earpiece. "This is better than Cyd's trashy shows!"

"Jimi security … I'm um … just a temp." He said, extending a hand to the girl.

"I love you, Kari. You're the only one for me." Isaac said in an exaggerated sultry voice.

“Sarah sent two messages. You want me to read them to you over the com?” Cyd asked. Time Check. Cameras. Sibs. Downloads.

Isaac gasped. "Could you?" He asked excitedly.

Cyd couldn’t help but roll her eyes, just like Isaac to call a bluff. “Files are done. Grab the dongle, head down to Mat, coast looks clear Lo. Mathias, head to the east side elevators, Isaac, go the opposite way you came in … "

"As you say whale penis 3 … " Mathias complied in a lackadaisical tone.

"Gross." Isaac interjected.

Time check. “Yeah, just – “ Cameras. Cyd’s train of thought stopped at the cameras, staring at the screen in momentarily disbelief. “No, no no no… “ Sibs! “LoLo get out of there, Mathias, do NOT take the elevator. There’s a…” A piercing alarm assaulted the ears of everyone in the building, strobe lights by the ceiling flashing as an alert as well. It was the same way they’d describe some of the raves they’d been too, complete with shouting people and panic. “Fire on the ground floor,” Cyd told them. “They’re evac’ing the building. Lo, you gotta get out of there, now.”

"No sweat." Isaac said cheerfully as he popped out the dongle and headed for the exit. "Lucky for us, huh? All we gotta do is just walk out with everyone else-" He was halfway there when large metal shutters descended on the windows and door of the server room. "Uuuhhh….whale penis one? …...help?"
What Goes Up Part 1

Outskirts of Khao Yai Greenleaf

Cyd leaned against the shuttle reading a brochure while the boys changed. In her head she was making checklists. What to keep eyes on, what had to be done, what came next. The oppressive heat convinced her to tie her oversized Dyton Tech Tee-Shirt at the waist. “Tour bus leaves at 1400, sharp,” she reminded them, shaking the brochure as they stepped through the hatch.

“Wouldn’t want to be late for that,” Mathias, who would rather remove his eye teeth than go on a ‘group tour’, snapped as he rolled his eyes.

“Ja nee?” she agreed even though she knew he was being sarcastic. Isaac winked an affirmative response, his almond eyes partially obscured by the fake horned rimmed glasses he was wearing to make him look, in his own words, more ‘sciency.’ “I want to get to see some of the jungle and besides,” she fanned herself with the brochure for emphasis. “It’s air conditioned.” The latter part seemed even more important now with the oppressive heat. For her part, Cyd carried her cortex and extra gear in a backpack slung over one shoulder. “They were serious about the climate, it’s lank humid,” she commented, worrying a bit about her equipment in this kind of weather. “Stark contrast to the fish ship, oweh?”

“I liked the fish ship better eh? Feel like I'm swimming around rather than walking.” Mathias said already feeling the film of instant sweat forming from the insane humidity and heat.

“Don’t worry, according to what I saw, the Iab is a cool, comfortable climate controlled 72 degrees at all times - except for the greenhouses but you two won’t be anywhere near them. “Visitor badge,” she continued, handing her ‘sciency’ brother a laminated visitor badge with his photo.

"Look at our Lolo … looking all grown up. With a respectable job …" Mathias sniffed, wiping a fake tear away. " … it's making my glasses fog up!"

"Seriously, does he have to come??" Isaac whined, one hand jabbing a thumb towards his older brother, the other defending against the impending hair tousling.

"Oh, should we take a picture? You know like those other parents when their kid starts school or something but you know … grand larceny … other than that exactly the same." Mathias chuckled, fighting Isaacs flapping hands to try and tousle the poor kid's hair.

Cyd shot Mathias [i] the look[i], “Really?” She said with an exasperated sigh.

"Pardon me for wanting to cherish every moment." Mathais said, trying to keep a straight face and failing as he fell into giggles.

"I'll cherish your moments." The younger Skye grumbled. It sounded more menacing in his head. "So are we ready or not?" He asked, his expression petulant.

"I've been ready. We're just waiting for you, you remember your lunchbox?" Mathias teased.

Isaac clicked his teeth with his tongue, clearly annoyed, as he half heartedly raised his backpack to show his brother.

Cyd shot one more warning glance before activating the com in her ear, tapping her temple to remind the boys to do the same. “Give me seven minutes to set up, then Mathias, you’re up,” she said, bringing them both ‘round on the task at hand. “Seven minutes!”

Mathias saluted playfully as Cyd walked off to be their overwatch.

Cyd returned the salute with a single finger as she went to set up her gear.

Isaac snickered at his sister's gesture and looked to his brother. "Dork."

"You don't even know what that means." Mathias said, shaking his head sadly.
"Given today's political climate, we don't need to divide ourselves any more than we already have." - Eww, David!

AU's are gold. (Get it? Do you see what I did? I'm CLEVER! CLEVER I tell you!). They are fun, this one was fun. I will play the what if game, run side dialog, giggle over ideas like "Isaac in Wonderland" until waaaaay past my bedtime. But like gold, I hoard AU's in my gdoc safety deposit box, something I peek back at when I want to see something shiny.

I'm enjoying getting to know everyone's toon, both in character and through reading. (Collins! Can't wait to 'meet!') So my opinion - yes, it was a blast, I love to take my toons and put them in other situations, I think it's something I'd revisit when we have more verse to alternate. Supernat took two or three nights between planning, laughing, spinning SPN lore, and I could have put that into day two Greenleaf shennanigans. My six cents, I'm all for fostering in-game relations, and enjoying posts in the actual verse than alternate ones.

TL:dr - I want to focus writing and reading in the actual verse, but think this would be fun to revisit down the road.
Not opposed to a gdoc, of course, for anyone who does want to continue, but I don't think the Skye's would use it.
