It could depend on how much magic is put in but the low-end being a radius of a few feet while the uttermost high-end range being a mile? A whole city block (as in roughly 500 by 500 feet) could be the average. Again, how long the 'pause' is being held for would increase the ongoing drain. A few feet for an hour might be pretty petty change in comparison to a whole mile for a minute but holding a spell for an hour is in itself quite taxing.

I'm glad you like them. How are the listed weapons, spells, and familiars, though? I'm hoping I hit a nice balance but I'm not quite sure if I did or if I went too far in putting limits.

I almost added in that "On the Rise" had a chance of confusing or stunning Familiars but it might be OP when combined with the gun or the one set of elemental spells.

How does the timer work? Because depending on it and how 1-Ups work in conjunction, Mr L will be down for the count for a WHILE thanks to platformer titles and RPGs what with the constant possible death of minions.
@Raddum
I like that Blaze was in a console title. I hate the fact that she was dumped in that hellish future and her powers were vaguely similar to the local Evil Bad Guy (which means life couldn't had been easy for her) but her presence was a bit nice. Rather play as her as an option than nothing but hedgehogs.

As interesting as Heroes was (and how much I liked that the Chaotix were back), I prefer the B-movie tier Sonic Adventure 1. Adventure 2 was a bit more fine-tuned but had the different storylines woven into two frustrating paths split by stupid names (no I don't want to hunt for emerald shards right now, give me the mech goodness).

@GreatSalmon
I predict everyone but our friend in the woods gets Katamari'd into the fight.

*screeches at Kaiba* NO

A line from a film Tony saw some years back seems perfectly made for this place: 'One foot in the grave, the other sinking into the mud.' Half-dead, tired, and slowly going under.

Tony stares up at the ceiling from a cheap mattress with mostly clean sheets. He moved from a decent apartment to one bordering on the cheapest to keep the costs low enough without risking what little he has left. Peeking through the blinds are neon lights from local businesses of varying reputation. Makes it hard to sleep at night when regret and disgust aren't the cause instead.

This is what he gave up a decent life for? No one could predict the colony getting cut off like this. Eden is the perfect escape. A world - any world - he wants for a reasonable fee. He can forget his shitty apartment. He can forget how he got fired. He can even forget how the city's gone to shit in a handbasket. Then he gets dragged out of that wonderful piece of Heaven and back into this miserable Hell. It feels like Tony leaves a piece of his soul behind each time. Its a mystery what will happen when he's finally sucked dry. Maybe he'll die. Maybe he is already dead. Maybe the colony didn't get cut off but instead was blown up. Maybe Nino's in Hell. Sure feels like it and the difference between life and Eden makes it hurt all the more.

But dead or alive the world as governed by Tritech demands money.
Dead or alive there's still Tyre goons demanding another pound of flesh.
Dead or alive... he has to get up in the morning and do odd-jobs between his shifts at the Station.
Sleep, as usual these days for Nino, is agonizingly slow to come.
@Raddum
The sad thing is that 06 had potential. It just was... uh... not very good.
And rushed.
And endless amount of loading screens.
And bullshit time travel.
And why are the maps so freaking huge?
Then we get into the plot and graphics style.

This is coming from someone who can find something wonderful about each title in the series, Sonic 4 aside (because I couldn't play it with the 'little' speed issue when I tried the demo/free day/whichever).

(Yes, I'm a Sonic fan. Favorite non-main title is Sonic R for some goofy reason.)
@Raddum
I know I opened the floodgates but there are instances of Mario and Sonic appearing in the same game. (Mostly Olympics but whatever.)

I'm still working these out but here's the general ideas:

*narrows eyes at @Raddum* Is that a Sonic reference in your location?
I'm stuck between types so here's the two I made up. It took me a while to type up and I'm not completely finished but here's what I got.
