Gotta get ahold of our lovely Cereal co-GM, since we post together--but liking what I'm seeing :) We're still around and kicking it, and will get around to posting :D
Sitting down made his own weariness apparent. After a long yawn, Espen jabbed himself in the leg, but the pain didn't make him wakeful. His eyes repeatedly closed and opened as he fought the futile battle against sleep. Espen willingly laid down and reached for his teddy bear. He easily ignored the cold ground and squeezed the plushy close to himself, he finally closed his eyes.
Espen's exhaustion and the rainfall limited Espen's senses, but he was still capable of hearing the curses and words uttered by fellow invaders. Sleeping while other survivors are around would be asking for death. Espen rose as alive as ever, he briskly grabbed his things and prepared his crossbow. The man inspected the area before noting some boot marks leading to a silo. He grasped the metal ladder and climbed upwards. Espen wrapped his fingers around the slippery handle and opened it.
Regardless of his awkward footing, he aimed his crossbow down towards the bottom of the silo at the three invaders. "I can't really go to sleep until you guys do." Espen stated as he rubbed his eyes, still aiming his crossbow at the three of them.
He didn't hear any kind of response. He never got a response. No matter how many times Espen asked the teddy bear the stuffed animal remained silent. Espen glanced at the lofty tree. If Rose doesn't think this is a suitable resting place then Espen doesn't. The man squeezed the plushie closer to himself before trudging away from the possible hideous sepulcher. After only a few steps, he felt his finger get lightly prodded. Espen peered down at the toy to find a small flower stem sticking out of it. The stem's discoloration showed the flowers that filled the teddy bear were dying which Espen couldn't allow. His trudging gradually turned into jogging as he looked around the area for flowers.
Eventually, he came across some roses that not only looked nice but would partially mask the stench of his decaying sister's body. Espen cut away at the stems of multiple flowers with his knife until he could fill his coat pockets and hands with the aromatic flowers. Should be eno- Espen's thoughts were interrupted by the angry boom of thunder. Well... shit. He didn't wanna get soaked or eaten so Espen sprinted towards the closest shelter to him, some old (hopefully) uninhabited buildings.
Once inside some structure with a roof he placed Rose onto the ground and proceeded to undo the stitches that kept the bear's cloth together. The moment he did so he saw her. Rose's body surrounded by equally lifeless lilies. Espen's attempt at holding back tears was absolutely pointless. He was hunched over the corpse, crying and sobbing. One of the reasons he entered this place was to stay dry and his tears falling onto Rose made entering here somewhat pointless. He slowly removed all of the dead lilies and replaced them with the newly picked roses then sewed the toy back together. "I'm sorry." Espen wiped the tears from his face and placed his only companion down, letting it lean on the wall. He looked at his overcast surroundings and sat himself down next to the bear. "We'll just have to wait."
I just realized that Espen killed a living man's wife and child when he killed his mother and half-sister. Might as well not leave that as untapped potential and make him want to hurt and murderize Espen. That is if it's cool with the higher-ups.
Espen was born into the same dwindling community as his parents. The main reason for his existence being that his older sister created a hole in his parent's hearts when she left that he would have to fill. Being a boy in a group comprised of hunters, Espen learned how to hunt. As soon as he was capable, his father was teaching him how to use a gun and survive during times like these. His father told him of the wonders the world held outside the walls of the small camp everyone he knew lived in. Stories of how his sister managed to escape. His father secretly wanted to go out into the open wild and leave the dying group himself but only stayed because of his wife.
The inevitable happened and the weakening group got attacked by bandits. Many were slain, including Espen's father. Sandra was already saddened by her daughter's death at the tongue of a langue but her husband's death at the hands of fellow humans convinced her that the world was too dangerous. Too dangerous for a little boy who can barely wield a gun.
So she placed him in a metal cage. A cage filled with two smaller cages. One Espen could barely fit in, one he could lay down and stretch in and another he could stand and manage some movement in. He could never leave her and die like his sister. He would be safe inside the cage, in her mind, and so she forced him to live in that cage for many years. His days filled with stories of the happy past his mother barely remembered. That is, until the future appeared to be brighter. She got a new partner and had a new child with him.
When she attempted to place him in the cage with Espen, he smothered his sister. When his mother attempted to remove the corpse from the cage while he was asleep, Espen killed her. He fled into the forest afterward and never returned to the dwindling community.
Relationships Sandra Holter(Deceased) Espen's mother and second person he has killed. Espen spites her more than anyone or anything else that exists aside from himself. His memories of their earliest interactions would fill him with joy if it weren't for the most recent events that occurred between them. In his book, she caged him like an animal and he responded accordingly. Regardless of his opinion on her murder, Espen feels guilty. His mother's death will probably haunt him for the rest of his days. Rose Holter(Deceased) Espen did not actually communicate with his younger half-sister much, apart from killing her of course. He continues to question the morality of his decision to end his sister's life and despises himself because of what he did to the helpless infant. The desire to carry on the memory of his family's existence, be who he hoped Rose could be, and to find his sister a perfect burial place makes him feel the need to live. Rose is the reason he hasn't offed himself yet. Rose the teddy bear(As alive as a teddy bear can be) A teddy bear that Espen named after his dead sister that contains Rose's corpse. Acteon Holter(Deceased) Espen's truly misses and loves his now deceased father. Acteon had taught him the skills that made him survive in the woods and he knew that his father loved him very much. Ferika Holter(Deceased) Even though Espen has only heard about her from stories told by his parents, Ferika has affected him. Ferika's impact on Espen is what stopped him from giving into his mother. What stopped him from simply accepting his life within the cage and boosted his desire to get out. He was not alive while she was up and kicking but he does thank her for her influence.

Updated relationships and history. History is crappily written and I'll update it with a more personal view soon but that is the general gist of what happened.
