Hi, I'm Monster, but you can also call me Katie if you'd like! I'm a huge video game geek who loves to write. I've been writing on forums for a few years now. If you ever want to talk, just send me a PM and I'd be glad to chat you up. I am currently on a major D&D kick, so I guess that's spurring me back into this site after such a long and much-needed break). :D

I'm a complete sucker for apocalyptic, fantasy and sci-fi roleplays. Anything that tests limits and provides MAJOR character development. That's some good ish.

Thank you guys!

You both made my day...Or night? Hmm. Whatever it is. It's night for me. So let's to with that.

I can't wait to see the creative posts from the rest of us, I'm über excited.

Not really sure what's goin' on. But it reminds me of a Pokémon, so, yeah.
Alright, I made my post. Hope it's okay. I wanted to join in on the Walmart thing, but I didn't want to interupt a possible storyline there. So instead, I found a way to introduce my character without causing too much possible friction there.

That was fun!
(Scenerio One: Walmart, OPEN TO ALL)

Her footsteps heavy and wrought by exhaustion, Ellie begrudgingly trudged on. Her right hand hung loose at her hip, gun encased in tight fingers. She hadn't slept for a good two nights now, her nightmares chasing away any desire to sleep. Her supplies were still good, she had at least a nice few good meals left before she needed more. So why was she making her way over to a deserted, and most likely ransacked marketplace?

Well, she wasn't trying to squirrel food, she had enough for a few weeks. But, supplies of any kind would be welcomed. Medicine was her top priority, she'd even accept bandages. Perhaps even a good book? Shaking her head, she pulled herself from her thoughts. Just ahead was the store in question. A large "W" lay on the ground, shattered just near the entrance. The other letters were barely hanging on, struggling against the bolts that held them in place.

Elizabeth let out a small sigh, checking her gun: three shots left. Great. Hopefully she could manage to avoid trouble this time. Stepping carefully through the broken glass doors, her small and lithe frame easily gliding past without making a sound, she cautiously tip-toed her way around the first set of isles. Memories briefly flooded into her mind, her few times here. All pleasant. Now...Now, it was this. Silence, emptiness, and possibly rats. Delightful.

Just as she was walking around to the third isle, after finding two cans: one slightly opened, and the other filled with sardines (both of which she let be), she stopped. Two rows ahead of her, barely noticeable, was a walker. She mumbled a curse under her breath, just her luck. It had been a good day, partly cloudy. Threatening some rain, though so far there hadn't been any. Pursing her lips, Elizabeth quickly scanned her surroundings. In front of her, in the next row, was a few books. Some entertainment. Or fuel for fire. Whichever need came first. Though the Walker seemed oblivious, it was a bit of a risk. Narrowing her eyes, Ellie crouched and semi-crawled forward, careful in her footsteps. She could smell it now, the rancid decaying flesh. Like a barbecue gone wrong. Wincing, she reached out and grabbed for a book. She didn't care what it was, she just wanted to leave.

Just as she lifted the book from its place, a small krreeeeek emanated from the rusty shelf. Eyes widening, Ellie stopped in place. Fear glueing her to the spot. Her emerald eyes glanced around rapidly for the undead creature, only to see it was gone.
"...Holy crap" Heart racing, Ellie knew she had to leave and pronto. Just as she stood from her crouch, she noticed the head of the walker in the very next row.
"Nononononono..." She whispered frantically, mind going into overdrive. "Okay, okay...I can do this. Just-" She barely ducked under a fallen desk as the walker appeared at the end of the row, it's groaning monotone, and haunting. As the Walker got closer, still oblivious to her presence, Ellie remembered the sign she had seen at the entrance.

WELCOME TO WALMART, PLEASE RATE YOUR TIME HERE

So far, she was pretty sure they'd barely make a two on her list.

Mesmorized by that smirk.
@SyrianHamster, yeah that definitely makes sense. I ran into that in another rp, actually. It's off-putting to say the least. But it also shows disorganization.

In England it's like someone just got a map, closed their eyes, and squiggled all over the place.

Oh my gosh, XD 10/10 Description.

As for Ellie, I think she may or may not do the same. If it is, in fact, a year after the apocalypse. I doubt much would be let over, especially in Walmart. But, if she can, she might just want to see if they have any reading material. Something to keep her busy. I'm not entirely certain though.

History
Young and headstrong in her teenage years, Ellie paved her way through high-school the best she could. She was the cheer captain, varsity basketball player, and second in her grade. Many would expect her to be preppy, and she has definitely heard her fair share of blonde jokes. Elizabeth is a very intellectual student, no matter her strong personality, she always has something stirring in her head.

All was well for her in school, despite some raunchy taunts here and there. While her life at home, was a little more complex. Her father, who had served in the military for some time, had been discharged for his post-traumatic stress. He had become suicidal.
Struggling to help her father, retain her grade in school, as well as taking care of herself had become strenuous. The stress had changed her, forced her into a maturity that someone of her age should naturally fall into over time. Rather, she was ruthlessly forced into this phase.

When the outbreak hit, her world wasn't turned upside down. It was dragged further into it's dark abyss. Ellie had tried to get her father to come with her, but his mental state ad rapidly declined. Instead, he saw this as "Gods way out". Ellie will never forget the twisted smile she saw that day, framing unkempt face of her father, just before he ran out of the patio door, and into the awaiting jaws of death. As shaken as she was, her body still found a way to function. She grabbed her father's army pack, which she had filled with canned food, bottles of water, spare clothes, and mounted her father's handgun. As she headed away from her house that day, it took all that she had not to look back.

Personality
- Ellie is very charismatic, using her appearance and persuasion to get what she needs. If need be, she can lie fairly easily.
- As second in her class, she is smart, and she is tactical: due to her father's military background.
- She can be very protective, as she is used to a more motherly role.
- Sometimes, Ellie can be snarky, or sharp-tongued. Normally, she means well.
- She isn't very quick to trust, she's seen firsthand what affect the apocalypse can have on you.

Weapons
- Beretta M9: Three bullets remain.
- Her pocket switchblade.
Alright great! Thank you for the clarifications.

Also, I wish both you, and jimi luck with your books. I'm still fiddling over my first chapters. Something I've learned, don't be afraid to mess up, don't think too much on it either, that'll hinder the creative process. Editing and revising is something you can do after said chapter is finished. It'll make you feel slightly better about the work anyways. Though, I wouldn't take that advice to close to heart though, as I am still revising my own chapters. :D
