Bio

Hi, I'm Monster, but you can also call me Katie if you'd like! I'm a huge video game geek who loves to write. I've been writing on forums for a few years now. If you ever want to talk, just send me a PM and I'd be glad to chat you up. I am currently on a major D&D kick, so I guess that's spurring me back into this site after such a long and much-needed break). :D

I'm a complete sucker for apocalyptic, fantasy and sci-fi roleplays. Anything that tests limits and provides MAJOR character development. That's some good ish.

Alright my post is up!

Amber eyes glinted from within the crowd of other nobles, who had all been put into a state of fear - a load roar filled with fierce whispers of treason cutting through the violent outburst that had taken over the square just seconds ago. Just below the balcony where they were seated, the people below were wreaking havoc in their panic and rage. The square was quickly becoming a boiling pit of death below them, each person turning on the other, fearing that their neighbor might have played some hand in the quick turn of events, while others ran from the chaos, pushing aside any in their way. Vinali's stomach churned at the wreck below. The human population was beautiful in most respects, even respectable in it's bravado, but this... This was ugly, and shameful. All was because of their system of power. Each human was always trying to outdo the other, tell one that he'd be able to rise to power and wealth previously unimaginable, he'd be willing to slaughter anyone in his way. She couldn't recount where she had heard it during her travels, but she could remember the words vividly, 'Man is a wolf to man.' Only now, was she aware of how much truth shrouded over that haunting statement.

Taking a deep breath, Vinali rose from her chair, towering high above the other nobles, causing their ruckus to fall to a dim whisper, and then to a blissful silence as she let her red gaze fall on them. "Go inside the building, there you will at least have the guards to protect you, I shall head down and help those below." It took all of the little self-control she had not to spit at their feet at their cowardice. These were the people they had sworn to serve, sworn to bring justice to and for. Though, she supposed she shouldn't be surprised, if this trial had anything to say about those that held power in this city.

When she arrived at the square, she reeled at the destruction that had befallen the area. It reeked of fresh blood, the smell of iron was so intense it caused the Qun to take a step back and brace herself. She had only recently been exposed to the human embassies, and had seen fairly little of their cities. Now though, seeing their blood paint the stone below them in a river raging red, she felt a fire kindle from deep inside of her, burning behind her eyes, sending her hand to the hilt of her battleaxe –Qun were never detached from their weapon. Charging into the fray, she managed to remove her hand from the hilt of her weapon, and decided to instead use her fists. Wherever she could, she disabled fights, separating the squabbling humans. Hearing a high-pitched shriek, the warrior turned to see a young girl stumble and fall to the ground, blond hair falling in her face and her knee scraped. The thickness of the crowd made it almost impossible to spot her, but from what Vinali could see, the girl was in trouble. A fresh wave of commoners were stumbling about, scurrying in a fashion similar to mice, desperate to get away from the bloodshed. They were headed straight for the girl, though none made any sign of acknowledgment to her whimpers. She was going to be trampled to her death.

Vin, without a second thought, charged through the sea of bodies, forcing her way through like a raging griffon. She doubted she would be able to reach the girl in time, though, despite her progress the wave had a few seconds head start. Perhaps though, she could distract them, if but for a moment. Reaching into her diplomatic uniform, a coal black color, with a silky blue belt wrapped around her middle, she pulled out the Qun battle horn she had stored within the small pocket. Bringing it to her lips, she took a deep breath and released it into the horn, a loud, somewhat calming tune rising from the horn, bursting through the commoners screams. Somehow, miraculously, her distraction worked. The group of runners stopped, looking up in their panic at the foreign sound, taken aback when they saw the large figure seemingly running straight for them. Even more surprised were they, when they saw the Qun scoop up the crying girl and hoist her over her shoulders, mindful of the horns atop her head while doing so. They watched in mild curiosity as the tall woman carried the girl over to the inn across the street, carefully setting her down inside, where she would be taken care of by the on-duty guards within.

After leaving the inn, Vinali readied herself to head back into the crowd, which was thankfully thinning. Before she could enter though, she noticed a flurry of movement over to the wall on her right. A handful of guards had collected there, all bumbling about the collection of red vines, gripping onto a few and stumbling over how they would climb over the wall. Intrigued, the Qun trudged over to the wall, and inquired about the guards current doings. Recognizing her as one of the diplomats, and the Qun general, the captain of the group turned and saluted her, before briefly letting her know of the escaped prisoner, and two other's that helped him. Vin raised a perfectly sculpted brow, before sighing and grabbing onto one of the thick vines of ivy. Tilting her head back as she was midway up, she ordered the guards back to the square to help contain the situation. They were no help here. After climbing the full length of the wall, she hoisted herself up the top using her forearms and flipped herself over it, landing with a loud thud on the other side, wincing slightly at the contact.

Bracing herself against the old stone of the wall with the flat of her palm, she took a quick scan of the area. Damn, no-one in sight. With a huff, she rubbed the back of her thighs, muttering a few choice words into the air before straightening and giving another look around. She wasn't one of the best bounty hunters for no reason, her tracking capabilities were incredible. Hopefully she could gather some kind of information from the area. Dropping close to the ground on one knee, Vinali scanned the ground, placing two of her fingers gingerly against the dirty pavement, running them along the cracked cobblestone and muck. There amidst the dirt, was a recent track, two pairs of feet running off the the alleyway nearby, a small line accompanying one– resembling the tip of a foot being dragged against the ground. It wasn't the most firm trail she'd seen, but it was the only one she had to go on. Lifting herself from the ground, Vinali began to follow the trail into the alleyway, curious as to where she would be lead.
Vinali

RACE:
Qun (Cue-n)

The Qun are an all-female race, full of talented and vicious warriors and strategists. They are feared for their style of combat, and well known by the horns on their head. This race is extremely tall in stature, the average height of a Qun is 6'3 foot. They can mate with other species, which is recommended for the better outcome in offspring, as the genetic material from the "father species" is gained and added to their own. They are advanced with their technology, due to their mix in blood and DNA they are able to adjust to certain environments easier than most species. Eye color ranges from deep red to violet, orange, yellow or a (rare) green.

APPEARANCE:
Vinali is a statuesque giant, standing proudly at 6'7. Her face is chiseled, her eyes a deep red, similar to that of her mother's. She wears a red colored paint on her skin, marking her facial features with elegant strokes, and has red accented gear to go with her paint. She is incredibly fit, and harbors a few scars to show of her many battles.

PERSONALITY:
Intellectual, stoic and selfless, Vinali has been raised to be one of the next Qun Matriarch's. Though she is calm and laid back for the most part, her strong-will can and will get in the way at any time. Her mannerism is structured around her everyday lifestyle, which in her line of work, has hardened her.

"Throw me to the wolves, and I shall return leading the pack."

BACKSTORY:
Born to the Matriarch Ala, and a human priestess, Vin is regarded highly among her Qun sisters, and is a representative of her race. Her role in the society, as open as it is, was to round up any bandits or theives on the lose. Anyone that couldn't be brought down by the best warrior, or tracked by the best assassin, she was sent in. (More will be revealed within the story)

SKILLS/STRENGTHS:

  • Physically strong, a naturally born leader.
  • Skilled in hand to hand combat, and with two-handed weaponry.
  • Highly intimidating, which she uses to her advantage in conversation.
  • Next in line to the Qun Matriarchy, has a small force of Qun warriors to send out at her disposal, though they do not travel along with her.
  • Skilled in tracking, due to her history as a bounty hunter.
  • She is very perceptive, often able to guess the hidden desires or truths one may be hiding from her. Unless they are talented liars, she can often pick up on subtle cues about them.

WEAKNESSES:

  • She represents all of the Qun, no matter where she goes or whatever the company, she must always show her race in a positive light - lest there be repercussions.
  • She is socially awkward, not entirely familiar with jokes and lighthearted conversations. Qun are naturally direct species.
  • She normally says what is on her mind, as honesty is something she is familiar with, despite the consequences.
  • She is not built for stealth, whatsoever. Imagine an elephant trying to walk on eggshells without them cracking...now picture that elephant drunk. That's what a Qun would look like attempting any kind of stealth.

FIGHTING STYLE:
Vin is a brute force of raw nature in battle, her strength is nearly unmatched. Her broadsword is always the go-to weapon, but her fists are equally as devastating. If you'd count it, she also flung an empty wine bottle towards a Minotaur once...So she can use her environment to her advantage, mostly by throwing nearest objects, preferably something heavy and clunky, at opponents.

SPECIAL ITEMS:

  • The Qun War Horn, which she wears around her neck. It can be used as a locator, or as an announcement of battle.
  • Her broadsword, forged out of tough steel and made for her hands.
  • Large and deadly horns?

ENEMIES:
She isn't very popular with thieves, or the like. Mostly because she's locked up half of their friends and allies. The underground lifestyle just doesn't seem to agree with her.

ALLIES:
She has a small task force of Qun warriors gifted to her by her mother. Along with that, her influential standing has allowed her some leniency with the diplomats or higher ranking of other species, despite her awkward social stance.

MAGIC:
Though she has the ability to learn magic, she does not have any powers yet.

Letting her rose red gaze sift through the populace, Alexia came to a brisk stop when she settled on two young men, both standing next to the infamous requisitions board. Only those desperate or reckless would take a job so dangerous for such little pay, but then again, you did get in good with the group you were doing it for. High risk, but perhaps it had an equally high pay off.

With a purpose rarely seen in this town, she marched over to the two, measuring them up as she approached. This could be as good a chance as any to get information about one of the big leaders in this waste of a city, some kind of information to throw them off balance, enough to wedge herself in, prepared to knock them out of this city for good. High risk, an even higher payoff. She stopped about four feet from the two, clearing her throat to divert the attention both had to her, noting that they were apparently not in the best of moods, apparently the one boy had lost something..? She couldn't quite catch what it was, but perhaps she could use this to her advantage...

Steeling herself, Alexia prepared to dial back her tone, ooze it in honey and drench the boys with it. It didn't hurt that she had taken the liberty to wear a mildly form-fitting dress today. Maybe their age would make them naive, an easier target. Though in their line of work, she doubted it. "Hello there," She paused, not quite sure whether to address them as gentlemen, or to use her instinct and skip past formalities. In the end, she decided it would be best to skip to the chase, they could respect that, right?
"I'm hoping that you can help me with something rather important, but it seems that you could use some help yourselves?" She smiled in kind at the two, her face seeming to glow in the morning light, something taken for granted in a town as dark as this one. "If you're looking for something, I have plenty of assets at my disposal ready to help you, if not, I would still wish to inquire a favor - perhaps one that would be traded for quite a hefty amount of coin?" She had to make sure to sweeten this offer up as much as she possibly could, asking about any of the faction leaders was practically suicide, especially if it wasn't an inquiry about signing up. As she stood, basking in the little light that shone in this part of town, Alexia began to question whether or not this was the best of her ideas.
Sorry I haven't gotten a post up yet, I've been pretty busy. I'll get working on it now!
Hey guys!
