This looks cool. Being into pokemon and rp this is right up my alley haha! I'm new to the guild and idk how these really work but I see people just post their cs so I'll do it too.
Pokémon Species: Makuhita
Nickname: Yoku
Type(s): Fighting
Desired Rank: He wants to get to Ace right away but due to his background canonically he's a beginner
Personality: Being humble? Boring. If you do something that's cool why would you tone it down? I don't get these other pokemon that say "I didn't do much" or "its nothing really", that's boring. Where's your showmanship? Your bravado? Your confidence? Well, that's why I'm here. To turn things around. The world is my stage, the clients my fans, and the guild, well, its nothing but a means to an end. I'm gonna be the strongest fighting pokemon in the world and those who try to drag me down will get sent straight to Chansey's recovery room!
History: Yoku comes from a long line of Pokemon martial artists, with the specific branch being PokeSumo. He grew up in a dojo and from a young age was taught to compete with other pokemon in his dojo. The core values of this dojo is 'dignity in defeat, humility in victory' and they heavily reprimand those who are considered too arrogant or expressive after a fight. Yoku's master is an old Emboar who took him in because he saw the young makuhita's potential to become a champion in the future, a Yokozuna! Hence the name given to him. However due to the consistent rebellious attitude shown by the young pokemon, he was unfortunately kicked by a disappointed Emboar out with the words "You have limitless potential yet you can't get out of your big head! PokeSumo has no need for those who are arrogant, only those with humility!. Don't bother coming back if you haven't changed your attitude!". Naturally, this came as a shock to young Yoku but he quickly picked himself up by saying "Hmph! I don't need some stupid dojo anyway, I'm strong enough to make it on my own. I know! That Explorer's Guild might seems to be a place where strong pokemon gather, so naturally I'm going to join too! Who needs a dojo when you have the world?"
Strengths: "My strengths? It's fighting... and uh... fighting? Well who needs other stuff if you're strong right?" It seems like Yoku doesn't know his own strengths. His confidence in his abilities may come off as arrogant to others but there's no doubt he's capable. This 'I can do it' attitude can fill others will confidence too, especially younger pokemon who are scared.
He's good at inspiring other pokemon to do better and unknowingly motivates them too. He doesn't have that big of an impact on those stronger than him but his perceived arrogance can infuriate others of equal standing to do better just so he can keep his mouth shut.
Weaknesses: Psychic and flying types...(lul) His master Emboar, even after being forced out of the dojo he thinks back on the days when he was taken in and trained. Yet due to pride and stubbornness he can't face his master without, in his words, "getting strong enough to beat everyone".
His demeanor will cause him to take on challenges that he obviously cannot beat and will more often than not put him and those around him in danger.
Greatest Fear: Yoku has a fear of being seen past his facade, his current attitude was the product of being bullied when he first joined the dojo. The older trainees treated him as nothing more but an errand boy or a servant therefore he built up a persona of a proud and arrogant fighter in order to forget about the past. He's afraid of being seen as vulnerable and being perceived as such will, for the most part, make him crumble.
Compassion breaks his mask. Experienced and mature pokemon like his master Emboar can see through the lies and treat him with kindness. This is also why Master Emboar drove him out, to make him experience the world and the way different types of pokemon treat each other.
