Half swording is a very interesting technique, I bet there are some brilliant and descriptive ways to end a fight using it. I'm currently looking up the defensive quality of leather armor. It's apparently better than I thought, but obviously still has quite a few weaknesses.
Don't worry, I'll try not to have Colin be as good as Ser Arthur Dane. :P In all seriousness, I agree it would be rather boring if fighting was too much like the game mechanics in a hack and slash. I intend to at least try to incorporate some tactics and maybe research some sword-fighting so as to be at least in the general direction of accurate.
