I decided to throw one of my older characters from another thread here. He didn't get much action there so maybe this place will be better. Won't be hard to fit in I'm sure.

Appearance

Though Ritter hold's many forms, it is most notably a male wearing a dark suit and tie despite any other changes. He tends to assume the same hadfull of forms, though the situation may vary. When not merged to a host, it is difficult if not impossible to impose a form onto the material world. Attempts often result in the form being misshapen and hard to identify, easily mistaken for a monster. Though on rare occasions, when there aren't too many different unknown minds around to interact with, Ritter is capable of holding a somewhat stable form.

Species Description

- Symbiotic entities by the name of Soul Avatar are scattered scarcely about the realm in various forms and states of existence. These Avatar possess infinitely mysterious abilities, each one baring powers completely different from the next. However the power of an Avatar can only be harnessed through the essence of another, cutting them off to their own abilities when alone. Thus, Avatar are frequently bonded to a partner or host to channel abilities through in a ritual known as merging. For some, this is simply a way to access powers, while for others, it serves as a gateway to freedom from an inanimate prison.

In the case of Ritter, his physical form is confined to a piece of jewelry, making him incapable of movement or speech. In exchange for this burdon, he holds the powers to manipulate perception, morph shadows, and influence subconscious thoughts. Through these abilities he is able to take various forms, create illusions, infect others with fear, bend darkness into matter and shape it into weapons or extensions of his body, walk through shadows like a door, and appear to teleport by moving freely into and out of an individuals perception. In reality he cannot teleport. However he can effect the subconscious thoughts that cause a person to see an object in the corner of their eye and want to look at it.

Sealed within the confines of an ominous pendant, Ritter is unable to physically interact with the material world. Instead, he communicates through the ethereal world and the subconscious thoughts of sentient minds. Often perceived as a nightmare or predatory creature, most have avoided merging. Though if one were to get past the unnerving presence of Ritter's aura and make physical contact with the pendant, the merging process will begin.
Sanity Matrix Engine
The mental state of Ritter's host determines the amount of power that can flow into them. When calling upon Ritter's abilities, the Avatar plants a seed of controlled madness within the subconscious thoughts of the host. This madness is the conduit through which Ritter's powers materialize. As use of these abilities continues, the seed of madness grows, allowing for more power to flow and stronger abilities to be accessed. Similarly, emotions like rage, sorrow, love, hate, and happiness can also serve to empower Ritter's bestowed abilities, though effects can vary. In addition to unlocking his powers, the madness also grants Ritter limited access to the physical world. In the event that the host goes completely insane, Ritter becomes able to take possession of their body, until their mind finds sanity once again.
Sanity Release Level One
From the madness within the Host, the essence of Ritter radiates out and materializes into an offensive weapon to be wielded in battle or self defense. The weapons shape and function varies based on the Host. While in this state, the host will gain slight increases to their own physical abilities, allowing them to run, jump, and fight better.

Walking With The Shadow
Once merged, Ritter attains better communication skills with it's host while losing memetic influence over the outside world. Once the sanity of the host is assessed, Ritter will appear in a form acceptable to the mental perception of it's host, usually in a suit and tie. This form is only viewable and can only be heard by the host. This image isn't physical, and only serves as a type of phone line between the host and the will of the Avatar. It CANNOT interact with the world around it. When in the fourth state of Sanity Release, this image becomes loosely perceivable by others, often as some form of intimidating presence.

Weaknesses - Other then his inanimate state, Ritter weakness is the fear of his host. Not the literal fear but rather fear itself in general. If his host becomes panicked, Ritter's powers will go haywire and could result in unmerging.

Personality - The spontaneous nature of the image projected into the host's perception is the only personality observed when interacting with Ritter. Wether it is it's true behavior or simply a way of making the host feel more comfortable is unknown.

"Order up!"
Within the dim Ikijigoku Pub, a small crowd of rowdy drinkers shoved and joked, laughing amongst each other while sharing in dazed stupors. Among them, lining up his shot on a pool table in the corner, was Baldir. In one smooth motion, he hit the white cue ball and cleared the table in a symphony of clacks and rattles. A hearty grin crossed his face as another man standing across from him spitefully tossed a crumbled up wad of cash onto the table before grabbing his drink and stumbling away. "Hey don't be so salty man! I'm just on a lucky streak." Shouted Baldir rather arrogantly. Personally, he had half hoped the man would get irritated enough throw a punch. But being a rather large man, he rarely received any challenge from the regulars at a small town bar like this. Collecting his winnings, Baldir seemed completely oblivious to the strange, clearly suspicious blonde man who entered. Realistically, many suspicious characters came and went when came to places like bars and clubs, so Baldir had no reason to single the man out. However something about him seemed familiar as he made his way through the crowd and took his seat. There was no clear sign of reiatsu as far as he could tell. Then again even if there might be, a suspicious looking man like that would likely hide it. Even so, something about the man reminded Baldir of himself. However, before he could gather any conclusions, another sucker had made their way over to the pool table with the drunken confidence to take him on, and Baldir was not the type to refuse a challenge. Little did the patrons of this bar know, he had a couple thousand years of experience in bar games to back him up. Pool was like pie.

Age - Died in battle at the age of 32 about 2300 years ago during the time of the vikings.

Gender - Manly Man

Class - Previously the Captain of squad 11, Baldir became a Visored while spending too much time slaying hollows in Hueco Mundo. The massive amount of hollow energy around him as well as the constant contact with hollows finally awoke the hollow powers within him. Because of this, Baldir was stripped of his rank and banned from the seireitei.

Powers
Zanpakuto - Ragnarok

Shikai - Baldir's blade takes the form of a battle axe and a buckler. The axe is charged with electricity, summoning bursts of lightning each time he swings it. The buckler is capable of absorbing massive amounts of concussive force with severely reduced recoil, allowing Baldir to stand his ground against most heavy attacks. When struck, the shield produces a resounding sound similar to thunder.

Bankai - Alger Eldingar Ragnarok, Crushing Lightning Armageddon. Baldir's zanpakuto combines taking the form of a massive hammer tipped with a blade. The zanpakuto's spiritual pressure becomes extremely heavy, weighing many hundred tons, and can only be wielded by Baldir himself, as to him it's no heavier then a few pounds. The impact of his strikes equal the explosive force of two trains colliding with a box of dynamite at high speed. While in this state, storm clouds will form above Baldir, allowing him to summon volleys of lightning at will from every direction.

Visored - Baldir's hollow powers fuse with his zanpakuto, increasing the power of his attacks, the swiftness of his movements, and fusing the lightning he summons with cero power, also changing them black black. While wearing the mask, Baldir becomes resistant to pain, allowing him to think clearly while enduring wounds. He also gains a sense of blood lust, causing him to attack in a unrelenting manner. In addition, Baldir's arm becomes hollowfied, allowing him to summon surging electricity from his bare hand and even control the direction in which it arcs.

Bio/Desc/Personality/History - Born and killed as the prominent leader of a Viking Clan, Baldir became a soul reaper just a few years after entering the soul society. However he did so expecting the place to be like Valhalla, a land of glorious battles that never end. Having a pretty vast tactical knowledge as well as a fiery spirit, Baldir advanced through the ranks quickly eventually becoming captain of squad 11. However, in order to satiate his hunger for combat and glory, Baldir frequently requested access to Hueco Mundo to train. This inevitably led to him becoming a Visored and being removed from his seat as well as the soul society. After his dispatch from the court guard squads, Baldir made his way back to the world of the living by bartering with people who had access to an illegal senkaimon. Since then, Baldir has lived a thrill seeking and rebellious lifestyle, traveling the world and enjoying the conveniances of modern day advances. He cant help but look back on the days of war and combat however, and will often jump at the chance to have a brawl.

While technically being a master in Hakuda, Baldir developed his own fighting style. It's appearance is much more reminiscent of a Brawler and Glima(Viking Wrestling) fighter. Not appearing as refined as Hakuda, but no less deadly and effective. Often, Baldir resorts to a berserker style of fighting, leaving few chances for his foes to attack. He is also extremely proficient at wielding varied weapons, including swords, maces, axes, shields, spears and hammers. Being a highly perceptive combatant and master strategist & tactician thanks to his life as a human, Baldir can prove to be a valued ally, or frightening enemy. Possessing a rigorously trained and discaplined body, Baldir is one of the strongest Soul Reapers to date in terms of physical and muscular strength. Despite his keen skills on the battle field, Baldir lacks the ability to use kido and also chooses not to learn it. Similarly, he also stirs away from using shunpo.
