The Borealis; Common Area: Before Elysium
Khosin listened as Tanya spoke. “
So the Virmire mission it is? Good, don’t fancy facing the Blue Suns unless it’s necessary.” He thought to himself as Tanya said that they’d head to Virmire after dropping off their bounty and collecting their pay for that particular contract. Then of course the matter of the different issues that plagued the crew got brought up and while he could empathize with Tanya’s request, in his mind both Drono’s and Hazan’s requests were more pressing matters for, as far as Khosin saw things living with a bounty on your head could be problematic, not for just Hazan but for the whole team in the end same thing with Drono.
Still, he hoped that they had enough time to go to the memorial service for her father. He doubted that he could accompany them, the sight of a Batarian wouldn’t be a very welcome one in an Alliance colony, but at least Tanya herself could go. “
Bah, no sense focusing on that at the moment, focus on the next mission Khosin.” He admonished himself internally, turning his gaze upwards when Tanya picked out the name from amidst a few papers in a small bowl a smile tugging at his lips. Humans, they sometimes surprised him with the way they acted he thought to himself a small chuckle escaping from his lips when Carson announced that they were the
’Jury-Riggers’ “Heh, I like it, fits our crew rather nicely wouldn’t you say?” He said, chuckling a little once more.
He nodded a little when Tanya dismissed the group, going back to his quarters on the Borealis. briefly wondering what to do with his free time before they reached Virmire “Hmm, could write home, maybe read a little.” He thought out loud to himself, settling down on the bed as he continued to wonder what to do with the free time that was now in his hands.
Elysium; En route to Hacate Base
Khosin listened as their employer addressed them, returning the handshake that the man gave to each one of them before he lead them to a ground transport that had surprisingly luxurious interiors. He felt a ghost of a smile grace his face as he took in the interior of the transport vehicle “You know...this reminds me of my childhood.” He muttered to himself, smiling sadly as he looked around the interior of the vehicle. It brought forth memories of his childhood, of happier times before he had enlisted and before he had ended in the Terminus system; letting out a sigh, he shook his head slightly and, silently hoping no one had heard him, took his seat on the vehicle as they drove towards Hecate base.
He spent the forty minute drive in silence, a wistful expression on his face as he became enmeshed in memories of happier, simpler, times. As such, the trip towards Hacate base went -relatively- fast for Khosin as he reminisced of old times, in fact he had almost fallen asleep during the ride and as such was a bit distracted when Captain Donnelly began speaking. Quickly shaking his head, he focused on their contractor’s words on what vehicles and gear they could take apparently enough to arm an entire platoon “
A generous offer….hmmm, this contract will be more complicated, perhaps even too much for us...otherwise they wouldn’t make that kind of offer.” He thought pessimistically, a part of his mind wary of such a generous offer. However that train of thought stopped dead on it’s track at the mention of the ‘bastards who attacked Elysium’ knowing well enough that many of his kind had been behind planning the attack and that many more had taken part of it directly, although was silently grateful when Donnelly didn’t make any comments towards or in regards to him yet a small sense of unease remained on him after the comment on the Blitz.
Mercifully, the topic soon changed to what little information had been gathered of the smuggler’s base and, shortly after, of Donnelly’s request that they try and go undercover into the smuggler’s camp with the objective of selling arms and armors that had trackers on them along with the mention that they were free to patch up their injuries at the base’s infirmary and the promise that he’d be in the munitions warehouse if anyone had some questions or concerns. Luckily, the glancing wound he had gotten from that kishock shot had been healing nicely but, nonetheless, he made his way towards the infirmary that was on the base.
