Crazy idea:So, we have lots of numbers, and as Reylaa said I can totally vouch for her quality and personality, I wouldn't be opposed to fitting everyone who's applied so far in here (honestly, I'm surprised at the quality of people who showed up; the wonders of Advanced!).Since Nova's getting big, why don't we entertain the idea of splitting the team into two separate missions after this whole thing on Luek's rape yacht here? We can say the team bought a Kodiak so one team can go somewhere for "longer term" missions while the other takes the Tyrus elsewhere, double the income and all the players can be a part of something that they decide that doesn't get bogged down by player numbers. In my Elder Scrolls game, I temporarily split the players up into two separate mini-quest lines that I think worked rather well, so why not apply something like that to Nova? We can change up teams every mission, and give the new players a chance to make their mark and integrate with existing player characters. So honestly, I am not opposed to having both Reylaa and Vakte accepted, even if the numbers are huge. After all, we're all mutual GMs; no reason we can't handle that shit.
Hmm. I actually quite like this idea. Splitting the team would help cut down on "bloat" as people kind of have to wait around for people to post and then have to juggle everyone's character positions and the like. We'd just have to be careful that we don't let either team get too far away time/location wise so that we can reunite if need be.
Actually, now that I think about it, does anyone remember the first Nova? Soshi, me and another guy all applied late, so we were introduced at a later time. Before we met the team though, we had our own little story arc in place. It actually was pretty fun, gave me time to get used to the character, and the small character count allowed some really nice personal character interactions (RIP Kosso vs. Karin). I imagine splitting the teams would have much the same effect, and if that's true, I'm all for it. In the meantime, I'm just throwing out the idea that we could do a similar thing for the new guys (have them already together doing some tangentially related thing that gets them into contact with Nova).
