Sakamoto SenjuThis felt like a fairly long day. After being released by Hisoka, Sakamoto decided that because Meisa appeared to be caught up with plenty with things that he will go and ensure their daughter was safe. He reached his house, checked the mail real quick and grabbed a couple of letters, one addressed to the 'owner of the house' and the other addressed directly to him. He went inside and placed the letter addressed to him in his pocket while tossing the other one on a counter next to the entrance. He then quickly went to the bedroom and found the babysitter, who Meisa had decided was 'just barely passable', sitting on the bed and watching Mayumi rest. She gave Sakamoto a nod before leaving the room, and a few moments later he heard the entrance door opening and closing.
Quietly moving to the crib, Sakamoto took Mayumi out and sat on the bed with her in his arms. He still couldn't believe how lucky he was to have friends like Hisoka and Zakito, ones who care so much for the village and would do almost anything to ensure its safety, and an amazing wife like Meisa. He carefully placed Mayumi on the bed before taking out the letter from his pocket and opening it. He begun reading it, wondering at first who would send him a letter.
Dear Sakamoto-san,
If this letter reaches you, it is probably due me having passed away. When I wrote this, I had learned that I had a half sibling with the name of Leo Hasewaga. Unlike how I was at his age, he doesn't have the distrust against Crystal Release. As part of my last will, I want to request as a last favor if you would watch over my sibling. Much to my regret, I wasn't able to watch much over him and often believed he would fare well better without me. I am not sure if this has changed over the time when I had started to write this, but I hope that I can rely on you.
Leo means a lot to me.
More than I had showed,
More than I ever had said,
He is more than I deserved.
If my passing will cause any discomfort or pain, I regret that too. But I want to thank you for your words and advice in the past. Though I am not very capable of always showing my gratitude, I hope that this letter one will reach you, if its needed.
Much love and thanks,
Yumi Hasewaga.
P.S.
If you can, would you please give this advice ever to Leo. I think he could use it.
''If you don't laugh, you'll cry''
As he read the letter, his face slowly got paler. His free hand went inside a pocket within his clothes and quickly enough he took out a crystal flower, one which was made by Yumi several years ago, when he only met her. Another few seconds later and then the piece of paper was torn up into many pieces.
Sakamoto couldn't believe it. How could Yumi die? It seemed slightly impossible. He knew that he haven't heard from her in a while, but he didn't think that was the reason. That she died. He just figured that as an ANBU she had been more busy than usual. Taking slow deep breathes now, he turned to look at Mayumi. He did not wish to let his daughter see him upset, so he carefully took her and stood up. A minute later she was back in her crib, still sleeping soundly, and he was out of the room.
Shaking his head a bit and holding the crystal flower in his hand, Sakamoto came to realise that he will never see any other creations like these. This was the only remaining piece he had left of her. He went and sat on the couch in the living room, placing it on the small coffee table and just looking at it. He wasn't sure how much time he was staring at it, but all he knew is that after a while Mayumi begun crying, so he quickly got up and went to take care of her, leaving the small crystal flower on the coffee table,
But for him, the true crystal flower will always be in his heart.
