HIHIHI IM SORRY POSTING THE IC RIGHT NOW IM SO SO SORRYI started school and was loaded with homework and hung out with people and I was basically never home the past week and gahh I'm sorry.

It's cool, take your time. :) Life happens. I've been playing resistance games the past week anyway. Haven't lost interest, still excited. :)
I actually have a few ideas for what time periods to go back to:

1. You mentioned that a lot of the buyers would use the machine to gain profit. A very profitable point in history would be the Prohibition era in America from 1920 to 1933. The user could bring alcohol back from the future and sell it in the 20s for a large price or they could use future knowledge to make or gain alcohol quickly and sell it to the right people. (The labels of bottles from the present would be torn off, so the person drinking it would be none the wiser that the bottle is from the future.)

2. Maybe one of the machines was sold to someone who hates America. The machine could have been sold to someone who hasn't let go of the cold war or someone from the Taliban or North Korea. They could go back in time and try to turn the tide of the revolutionary war in the British's favor.

3. A more original idea in my opinion, is that the IRA (Irish Republican Army) bought one to go back to the Irish war of independence (1919-1922) and beat the British.

4. An idea that I like is where an escaped serial killer managed to get himself one of the machines and hide in the past. He hides in Victorian London and the big twist would be that the escaped convict from the future turns out to become Jack the Ripper.

5. A final idea that is a more personal one. A woman has managed to buy a time machine on the black market. Her parents were killed when she was just a small child and she ended up living in a horrible orphanage with no one to love her. She is so distraught and stuck in the past about why her parents had to die. For reasons that will be explained, she found a time machine on the black market and bought one. She goes back in time to prevent her parents death. Her parents died in a car crash after a school bus nearly swerved out of control and hit them. This caused the car to swerve out of the way and crash. If the parents were prevented from going to work then they would live but the bus that swerved would swerve in the wrong way and would crash into the side of a building, bursting into flames. All the children would die. The event was 40 years before (She is 45) and one of the children on the bus would become someone who invented a cure for H1N1 (or any other disease). Since that person is now dead, they would not be able to prevent an outbreak that happens a couple of years before the present and it would cause the death of 10% of the earth's population. Her intentions were good but the need of many versus the need of a few.

This is just a small set of idea, feel free to use them, tweak them or not use them at all. Your choice. :)
The man sitting beside him was a German man by the name of Stefan. His voice had a strong German distinction that easily gave away his nationality. Jonathan has never met a German man before but then again, San Francisco isn't exactly crawling with Europeans. Jonathan noticed at the side of his eyes that another person had entered the room. Another team member from the looks of it. She seemed quite independent and resilient. Her clothes were quite worn and mucky. This tells Jonathan two things: Either she's a slob or she wasn't given any time to change. Considering the work someone went through to round up people to some sort of vague and secret island, option two seems the most likeliest. She sat down not so far from Stefan and Jonathan. She too is waiting for their host to reveal himself from the mist of confusion.

Jonathan shook Stefan's hand to continue the greeting. "Nice to meet you, Stefan." He then stopped shaking his hand and adjusted his own seat. "So Stefan. We've been all rounded up like sheep, brought to a mysterious island and we still have very little knowledge of why we are here. Sounds something out of a murder mystery game." Joked Jonathan. He enjoys making jokes as much as the next guy but in all seriousness, the method for bringing everyone here was very odd. "Where's the butler? It's usually him." He then patted his jacket pocket to make sure his gun was still there. He liked to make sure he was prepared. It wouldn't be the first time that Jonathan was in an ambush. He's been on both sides but the most probable chance here is that this host has a flare for melodrama and mystery.

"So what is your occupation?" Asked Jonathan towards Stefan. This might give him more clues as to what he'll be doing here on this island.
Harrison started pacing up and down the room. He was nervous and he couldn’t help but show it. He was thinking about his son in Edinburgh. What if he doesn’t get out and see him again? What if he just goes missing amongst the chaos and infection? There would be no way for his son to know. He can’t afford to miss some milestones in his life: his son’s graduation, marriage, children, divorce… He then strokes his beard in a thinking motion. The county would probably be on lockdown, so they would need a place to lay low, too wait until the U.S military or the CDC have fully dealt with the situation. As Harrison has realized before, the airport is too crowded and dangerous to be a hideout. The number of people in this quarantine zone is just a feeding ground for those things out there. Sooner or later, one of the doors or windows will break or one of the people will fall ill and this time someone might not be around to take of it.

He then turns towards the both of them, Jay and Allen. “Getting out of here shouldn’t be too hard. A distraction will take away some of the guards but it’s finding a suitable place outside to lay low is the problem.” Mentioned Harrison.

He then looks at Allen’s daughter Caitlyn. He overheard that the infection spreads via a bite. He then bent down onto his knees and took a closer look at Caitlyn’s leg. It doesn’t look too deep but the only disease he can think of that is caused by biting is rabies. As far as Harrison knows, it isn’t a rabies bite but how long would it take for her to turn. Harrison decided not to think about it. Maybe it’s not deep enough or something like that, he thought optimistically. He crouched back up. “It should be a place with medicine and antibiotics for her…” He pointed at Caitlyn. “…and it needs some sort of protection, like metal security barriers, a heavy door maybe, little windows or something.” He started sounding nervous in his voice.

He walked up to the mirror at the sink and looked into it, thinking deeply. He has virtually no mind map of L.A and he has only been here for a couple of days. He then started thinking about alcohol and painkillers to try and calm himself down. The thought was very tempting to Harrison but he shakes his head to get rid of the menacing impulse. Now is not the time to go down old paths. He turns away from the sink and speaks to Allen and Jay again. “Do you know the county?” If they do, they might be more familiar with the area more than him. Hopefully these guys are calmer than him. It disappoints Harrison that he can’t handle pressure anymore.

"I'm going to kill Praxis"That line cracks me up... Every... Fucking... TIme

To me, Daxter is the funniest character ever created. The bits he says or does just cracks me up. XD

This video summarizes his best moments in Jak II. :)

EDIT: If video doesn't work for you, just go here: Daxter
Halo said I'm S6 too! And I know how the system works, I have quite a few friends planning to do something similar and are going to college first. What HND are you looking at doing? Immunology sounds particularly fascinating - you can make a case study of me, I'm currently on antibiotics, fighting off cellulitis :P (don't look up pictures, you just get very severe cases and it's super-mega-motherhugging-gross.) Aye, same here! Ah, I was talking about how the quality of Pokemon games has varied from generation to generation with some friends earlier - how we got onto the topic, god knows - and we all ended up reminiscing about our first games. Loving the Daxter avatar, by the way, I have played far too much of the Jak and Daxter series over the years...

I'm looking to do a HND in Applied Sciences at Aberdeen College. I have always been interested in Immunology. It amazes me how bizarre and weird our immune system is. It doesn't matter how healthy you are because it can still be shitty. There are heavy smokers who live to their 90s and triathletes who drop dead at 20. It can be your greatest foe or your greatest friend. It's a system in the body that just baffles me. Wow, cellulitis. That must be a bugger to have. Hope you get better. :) Don't worry about pics. You're speaking to a guy who typed "smallpox" into google images when he was 12. Wrong move. XD

I was reminiscing about old games as well with my brother, not so long ago. We started talking about the old classics. It was a beautiful trip down memory lane. Then the conversation ended with a discussion of our hatred for idiotic COD players. God I hate that game.

Thanks on the avatar. :D Jak and Daxter is my favorite franchise of all time. It's what got me fully into gaming. I have spent countless hours on that game. I even complete the whole franchise at least twice a year. I never get bored of it. :)

That must be a major bummer. I love shooting. Most universities around here have competitive teams. Here is a picture of me shooting an air rifle in competition. We have the whole uniform, and special computers that track where our shot lands.

Nice. I have always wanted to fire a gun. I remember telling that to a friend at school and I was told that I was apparently influenced by violent video games for doing so. :S

I was like what? I wanted to try firing a gun, I didn't say I wanted to shoot up a town! At some point you're going to be curious about them.

You ever hunted animals for sport or meat? If so what is the longest range you ever hit an animal at?

Me looking at gun:

We don't exactly get guns here in the UK so forgive my reaction if it seems a little over reactive.
Halo said Really? Damn, I don't think I've met another Scot about my age on here before. I'm in Edinburgh, myself. Are you S5 or S6 then, if you're doing Highers but also looking to go into an HND? I wish you luck with your exams, and with getting onto the course! And honestly, games and movies are a good thing to drop your money on while you have the loose cash to do so, they're theoretically unlimited entertainment.

I'm an S6 and I live in Aberdeen. I'm doing Highers too increase my chances of getting into my HND course. Once I get in and do the full two years of the HND course, I'll then do 2 years of University of a similar course and I'll get the same degree as if I did 4 years of the university course. The ol' 2 x 2. :) I'm looking to be in the field of either immunology or a zoology.

Yeah, I also spend too much money on games. I love them way to much. Been an addict since the days of PS1s and GameBoys. :)

I'm doing well. Pretty busy. Working, going to school time, and teaching a delightful class of middle school students twice a week. When I have time, I ride my horse, shoot my gun, roleplay, etc.

What subject do ya teach? :)

Also what gun do you have?

Prelims... may I ask where you live? The only place I've heard that term used is here in Scotland! You're feeling confident about them, from the sound of things. As for me, well, I'm gearing up for my own set of prelims and am spending far too much money and time procrastinating by going out with my friends, so things are good here too!

I live in Scotland too! :D I'm pretty relaxed for prelims because I'm doing four highers and all I need is a pass at one of them to be viable for a certain HND course so I am pretty relaxed but I'm also doing well at them (hopefully :)). I'm spending too much money recently on games and movies. I recently re-bought the "Resistance" trilogy for my PS3 because I am so super psyched for ths RP. :D
