Name: The Kingdom of Karesia Flag/emblem/symbolism: (optional; feel free to give picture or description) Demonym: Karesians Description:
The Kingdom of Karesia has a long history of having nobles here and there, most of which are controlled by the king and his court through the debt that they owe to him, which consists of both favors and money accrued by their families one way or the other, in this way the King of Karesia is able to control the kingdom politically and keep a steady stability that allows for growth and peace , within the kingdom, which lands seem to have no end.
They are but on of the descendant states from the Lindosian Empire and is ruled by the Verisian dynasty, which has been on the throne since the conception of the kingdom of Karesia, this dynasty has kept as one of its focus to keep its power in Karesia by keepinng itself away from the major conflicts in the region and trying to make the realm into something worthy of its size. Something not yet achieved.
Something special about the Karesian realm is the fact , that many exotic creatures inhabit its lands and they have proven to be of great value to both the economy and the army, especially the army that while not being used for a long time has its traditions of riding these beasts even from before the creation of the Lindosian Empire.
Technologicaly the Kingdom of Karesia is lacking in the area of magic if that can be counted as technology. This is because the lack of magic schools and the traditions of the people of Karesia to not trust magic over their strength of their arms. This attitude has also been taken by several nobles who prefer technological advancement to magic. The king and his court also prefer technology to magic because they are soo behind everyone else that trying to catch up would be too expensive and time-consuming.
Government:
The Kingdom of Karesia is a constitutional monarchy, with a parliament that can suggest the king legislations or veto them , if they get a simple majority. In this way the king can be regulated by the many nobles of the kingdom, but at the same the king still has enough power to do what he wants.
The National Bank is controlled by the king and his court, sometimes with the help of some nobles and foreigners, although, the latter are extremely rare.
In the provinces far off from the capital, autonomy is given to the nobles but in some cases, a bureaucrat send by the king acts as governor for the province.
Economy: The economy of the Kingdom of Karesia is currently weak in comparison to other countries, mostly because of some troubles with the previous management of the National bank, that resulted in a major depression and made a lot of people go to the fields instead of the city.
Still, the resources of the realm are so vast and great, that growing from that state is not impossible for the kingdom and with a friendly neighbor to the south, it seems that the economy will continue to grow at a steady pace.
The major resources of the realm are cotton (highly valued commodity), wool (we have lots of lands for sheep), porcelain, exotic animals that are sold to others for high prices and lumber of which there are lots in the kingdom. The minor resources are iron, coal, and copper, most of them found in the mountain chain on the northern tip of the realm. The rest would be foodstuff that can be grown thanks to the enormous amount of farmland available in the realm.
In terms of industries, porcelain and cotton textiles lead the way, although, they are small and weaker in comparison to other countries. It is yet to see how it will develop.
Religion: Eastern Lindosian
Geography: The geography of the realm is dominated by grasslands and forests, there is a major river to the north and there several smaller in the rest of the realm, in the north there is also a mountain chain called "Suria" that borders the sea.

This institution has become vital in the growth of the economy of the nation.
The Parliament.- The parliament in an institution in charge of supervising the king , it can suggest legislations or veto them if they gain a majority. It is composed of mostly nobles.
The Guilds.- The guilds are not very powerful institutions because of the lack of cities and large towns, but they continue to be a part of the realm nonetheless, they often control the business of trade and manufacturing in the nation, most of these guilds are in debt to the Karesian bank one way or another.
The House of Commons.- The House of Commons is an institution in charge of making sure that the people have some representation, they hold even less power that the Parliament but are there anyways.
Military: Mostly composed of guards and retainers , who work on one of the few cities or in villages working for the nobles. Organization: levy, tactics of spear and bow . The Karesian Legion is mostly focused on shock and raiding doctrine. Troop Total: 10,000 Karesian Legion (Details to be done) 300,000 max levy Army:
There isn't actually an standing army except for the Karesian legion that is directly maintained by a collection of nobles and the state, itself, it is one of the most honorable positions in the kingdom and many would give up their posicitions and wealth to be a general or commander in it.
Navy:
The Navy is composed of around 50 ships , a few caravels the most war galleys, there isn't a big merchant fleet either but it can be called upon to serve in navy if necessary
Other:
In terms of siege equipment, there are few , but the strongest living siege machine is the Drakos a beast capable of launching a fireball with its mouth.
Other: Special traits:
The Ruins of the Lindosian Empire.- In the lands of Karesia there are multiple ruins and monuments of the Lindosian Empire that shape its landscape , sometimes magnificently other times to cause terror and horror, all of those ruins and buildings have been lost to time and very few decided that it was worth to travel to those places, some looking for treasure and others looking for knowledge. Some say that there are magical artifacts in the massive underground complexes of the ruins or the lost palaces, their power unknown to many. Lately, the king of Karesia and some nobles have been patrons of surveying parties going into these ruins to seek those treasures and it seems that many other will follow suit.
Land of Beasts.- The realm of Karesia is soo big and at the same time has an enormous amount of fauna, that is unrivaled both in its beauty and exoticism in the whole world, from giant beasts that can be the size of the biggest mammuths to a minuscule snake with the most poisonous venom. Some of these beasts have been domesticated by the native Karesians, some are terribly good for productiviy in the farms , while others are horrorific and can cause havoc in any town they appear, either way, the people of Karesia have learned to live with them and to use them, avoid the path of the dangerous ones and live a tranquil life.
The Karesian Legion.- In the whole history of Karesia , there has been but one standing force known as the Karesian Legion , it has been in charge of protecting Karesia since its conception, it is composed 10,000 elite riders and beast tamers, their formations are composed of riders of the Kerith , a lizard like beast the size of a bear and with scales that are very difficult to penetrate and their speed can be compared to that of medium horse. The bad side is that their diet is quite exotic and it requires cultivation, that is mostly done by the Legion or sometimes by the crown. They also have some bigger beasts that act as seats for the generals and commander, this often have one or other exotic ability that differentiates them from the rest, although, their numbers are quite small.
Weakness.-
Beast Rampages
Known as the land of the beasts, Karesia while prepared for many contingencies , is sometimes besieged by the largest of the beasts capable of wiping out villages if they ever go mad or have a rampage, sometimes even the capital is affected by such happenings and even the most isolated villages have seen one of the nearby beasts kill a lot of their cattle or worse.
Damned Ruins
The ruins of the Lindosian Empire are considered to be damned one way or the other because they are inhabited by lethal beasts most never seen in the surface, some other ruins inhabited by beings of magic and others by underground tribes , because of these reasons, getting an expedition into of the ruins is a huge gamble and very high risk endeavor so only the bravest of the bravest go into the ruins. Most knowing that they may not return to their homes in one piece or alive.
Looking conceptually good so far, but let's not say that there are actually beasts the size of castles. Maybe in myths and such but if there were actually beasts that big that were prone to rampaging around, then civilization might not even be possible
Alright. I will just make them a bit on the side of elephant size.
Here is my NS , if something needs to change just tell me.@Cyclone

Fast Breeding Population.- The population of Karesia is known to breed a lot, this is both because a surplus of food, stability and the culture of Karesia that promotes childbearing during a marriage to such an extent that most Lindosian priests working in Karesia also go with it. It is common to see families of 8 to 12 children, most of which work on the family lands or as apprentices if they live in a city. This means a higher population growth and it also means that the losses of the kingdom can be easily replaced as each generation comes of age.

In of the many meetings that Amari Asto had to attend, he heard about Rano Rancor's idea that reached him through Manco who was quite aware of the news more so as he was the one to tell Amari Asto about Rancor's idea , mostly because he knew that the small kingdom needed a good push to keep the people content and willing to follow Amari Asto, his intention came from the loyalty he had to his homeland and therefore the Empire that controlled it, he didn't want the order and culture of such a prosperous place fall in a place like this.
Amari Asto thought it for a little while , then a little too until he decided that it was the right time to do such a thing, however, just when the council was gathered and Amari Asto almost gave the order to give Rancor the resources he needed, the news about the Lizardmen struck him and the rest of the population, of course. Amari Asto didn't really think that they were capable of attacking the village even if they found out where it was, they still had time to do one more thing before it was time to face the lizards, Manco thought the contrary and as such a debate that lasted a week ensued.
But at the Amari Asto won, mostly because the people wasn't very worried and the cold climate of where they had landed was truly a problem for them all. As such Ranco got his request granted , yet Manco continues to be wary of his master's rulership and tried to convince him otherwise, until Amari Asto said stop.
Manco didn't saw his action as worthy of being the prince of a such a big empire to the west but a little kingdom to the east , but he still believed that Amari Asto was a true ruler even if some of actions were a bit strange at the very least.
After the "threat" of the Lizards was solved , Amari Asto left that it was time to continue with the works that would set up a basis for his newly founded kingdom, with that in mind he decided to check again his available options which for the moment were only two, one of them was the lumber mill and the other the copper mine. Amari Asto thought and consulted Manco like he normally did in matters of governance, he told him that in one hand lumber could be used to create better tools and fires that would help heat up the camp in the cold night and in the other hand copper could be used to improve the weapons of the new soldiers.
Manco also told him that it some nights the temperature was too low and that was an indicator that maybe this land wasn't as temperate as they had thought in the first place and even with this piece of knowledge , Amari Asto took his time again and again to decide what he would do. He started to look like his father who would take upon himself the task of thinking solutions for every single problem that he faced.
A couple of days later, Amari Asto had made his decision , which was to establish the lumbermill to which he said that it was important to keep his citizens heated and that the wood could also be used to make the roofs of the buildings, which way easier than doing it with stones.
Amari Asto would announce the fact that Lizardmen were now mad or at least it seemed like it, maybe their nature was like that all along although that wouldn't be consistent with the previous reports of his scouts, therefore, facing this threat Amari Asto decided to set up a military force for the Kingdom, it would consist of mostly spearmen, patrolling the Quarry in the mountains in order to protect it in case the Lizardmen attacked , after this there were plans to deal with them should more reports like these come again.
Quickly enough he sent Manco to set up this military force and tell them about their duties.
