just btw, if i happen to be in your rp, i apologize if i don't post super duper often, as i'm currently in high school and usually p busy with that. i'll definitely reply when i can, bur rl is first
@MysarenI need to work on my profile, it looks so dull compared to yours. xD And thanks.
Now where would be a good place to start if I wanted to go a super hero/powers route? And would I get a better response working with a group of people on an rpg or doing the 1x1s I see in the forum listings? That question brought along another, are there any groups that rpg together currently? If so, where would I find them?
I suggest group RPs, and you should check out the RP subforums to see whatever group RPs are open. And for superhero/powers roleplays, well, there's no subforums by genre, but by general literacy of the RP, like free/casual/advanced.
I suggest looking around the forums, seeing what suits your fancy. Have fun!
There's all types of RPs, and they aren't at all connected unless you want them to be. All of them are their own separate RPs with separate stories.
Welcome!
Mysaren nodded. “Died pretty violent, it looks like. “ She said, inspecting the body more, her gloved hands playing over the bag on the ground. She flipped it open and frowned. “Looted.”
“Does look an awful lot like a robber. Let me try this.”
She pulled a bundle of herbs from her pack, and lit a match to set the herbs on fire. She waved the herbs over the body, lowly chanting in strange language.
With that, the body beneath them opened it's eyes, and it's head turned towards Mysaren. “Who are you?” It asked.
“How did you die?” Mysaren said, straight to the point. She kept waving the herbs over the body, and she didn't have much time. She needed the information fast.
“Tried to steal some mask from my buddies. They stabbed me in the bloody stomach!” The corpse said, the voice sounding distant and strange.
Mysaren nodded. “Where are your buddies now? I can get revenge on them for you.” Revenge was usually what motivated most ghosts.
The corpse was silent, before it spoke again. “Up in them mountains. There's a weird, pointy rock, looks like pyramid shape, yeah? That marks where they are. Can you kill the bastards for me?”
Mysaren grinned. “Of course.” With that, she blew out the herbs, and the corpse went still again, it's eyes closing.
“I understand. Still the same concept, though.” Mysaren said, glad that Rimau agreed with her. She was always afraid of finding someone who didn’t agree with magic, and she’d end up dead in a ditch somewhere.
“Necromancy, well, it’s not just about raising people from the dead you know. It’s about harnessing death, harnessing people’s energy, speaking with the dead, even. It’s death, and death is important, Rimau, as important as anything else, because death isn’t the end, it’s a new beginning! Death is just shedding your old skin and moving on to a higher plane, to explore new places and go on more adventures.”
Mysaren perhaps was a bit too passionate about death. “Oh, I know, it’s alright. “ She said, stopping when he held his hand up. Mysaren sniffed as well, the familiar smell of corpses filling her nose. She sighed.
“Yes, I do.” She said, turning towards the ditch as well. Mysaren walked towards where Rimau was looking, to pull back a few branches and see the body that was in the ditch. “Recently dead, judging by the sword wound in his stomach it wasn’t natural causes. “ She stepped towards the body, kneeling down and looking it over.
“Rimau, come here. I want to try something.”
A group of people have gotten a strange message through their Signal links (SLINKS), which function similarly to a pip-boy. The message is garbled and unreadable, but the title is a set of coordinates. The RP's main/first arc is about traveling to the coordinates to see what is there. There will likely be multiple arcs if the RP is successful enough.
There will be side-quest like mini plots, which can be given be NPCs or given through various random transmissions.
Our characters will be human/ghoul like characters. Nothing too overpowered, of course. As long as they would fit into the Fallout universe, they should be fine.
The RP will not start directly after everyone gets the message, but it will start with everyone arriving in a settlement that has fresh water. That's where our characters will meet before going off on their journey to the coordinates.

Set the World on Fire
“I don't want to set the world on fire, I just want to start a flame in your heart”
The Ink Spots (1941)
In the year of 2050, a nuclear war devastated the United States of America. Outposts and towns hold most of the remaining population, while others wander the wastelands and try to survive any way they can. The year is now 2090, and you have lived most of your life inside a pleasant little town in Texas. You were born, grew up, work, and will probably die there.
At least, until you get a message on your Signal Link (SLINK), from a mysterious source, the only part that you are able to decode is some coordinates in the title. In the hopes of finding great treasures and opportunity. You set out, equipped with whatever supplies you think necessary to travel out and find whatever lies at the coordinates.
The wastelands are a dangerous place though, vagabond. Filled with mutants, bandits, wild animals, radiation, and whatever other dangerous things your mind can think of. It'll be hard to survive and get supplies, especially since most folks don't feel like giving up anything they have. Not for free, at least.
Good luck, vagabonds.
This RP is based off of the Fallout universe, so the technology and general atmosphere of the roleplay will match that.
Out of Character Info:
Our characters will just be normal people that have lived in the wastelands for their whole life. Again, this RP is heavily inspired by Fallout, so back stories, and things about your character should fit into that universe. Characters can start out in the same towns/settlements if you want, or start in separate areas. Discuss that with the character that you wish to start out in the same area as.
As the GM (Co-GM can be decided later) I'll probably roleplay most of the NPCs, but if you wish to make your own NPC, please contact me first, whether it be a quest giver or just a random guy they find in a ditch somewhere. Most of the RP will focus on their journey to the coordinates and the various side missions/quests that they do.
Also, the technology will be very Fallout inspired, so weapons/gadgets from Fallout (3/New Vegas probably) are pretty much fair game as long as they aren't overpowered. Energy weapons, pool cues, swords, brass knuckles, guns, all of these are acceptable. Your character will start out with equipment too, but please use logic and realize that you probably shouldn't start with 900 mini nukes, Fat Man, and power armor. If you have any more questions, just ask.

"Yeah, of course. I've had people hunting me since I was a teenager, when I started practicing necromancy in the first place. Lots of small, god fearing towns who burns anyone who even looks like they practice magic at the stake. Necromancy is basically a target on your back, but necromancy is important, you know.” Mysaren said, looking everywhere but at Rimau, her teeth digging into her bottom lip. Damn, it was going to be a pretty long walk to those mountains. Thank god she kept in shape.
Mysaren knew she was probably suspicious, the random girl who walked into town, who was a necromancer and hanged around graveyards too much, and she tried to get that suspicion down as much as possible. “It’s funny, that people think that magic is inherently evil. It’s not. There’s good magic users and there’s bad magic users, just like there’s good people that swing a sword and bad people that swing a sword.” She wondered what category she would fit in.
“I dunno. Magic seems pretty dangerous sometimes, it just depends on the person. Besides, most magic users are all for show. Make a little flame and you have people treating you like a god. That’s why I chose necromancy, you know. It’s one of the more honest types of magic. Not about manipulating people or catching things on fire, it’s about life and death, and I guess there’s nothing more honest than that.”
Mysaren looked behind her, the town gone now, the only thing left was the cover of trees and the smell of the forest. She took a deep breath, sighing. Forests were nice, nice and quiet. She could at least rest easy before having to go up to the mountains. At that point, her head would almost constantly be screaming at her, the constant sound of death near her. It would probably be a blood bath.
