Roleplaying involves a commitment to others. And if you cannot keep that commitment I'd ask you to be honest with youself and just say so. It's by far the least painful way of leaving an rp.

Jolly good show sir...

@Kurai AssassinI had a plan myself... It involved decoy explosives, actual explosives... hey who made you the leader fot he group anyway?
alright, let us not open the can of worms that is 4E D&D. One argument at a time is more than enough for me
As for understanding rogue combat I only know how I have played them in mmo's my favorite being Neverwinter. In never winter my rogue focused on critical hits and power stats that made her quiet the glass canon and I had a powerful life steal a stat to keep me alive and drain the mobs dry.. I want to be able to get behind something and stun it, cripple it, bleed it, or kill it the way I have played them in every other game.

Ah, here we are back at the subject of the video games.

Like DDO was based on 3rd edition D&D, neverwinter was based on 4th edition D&D. This edition has always been controversial for changing many of the game's rules and is in many ways incomparable to both the preceding and succeeding editions. So again, trying to compare the tabletop to the videogames just will not work. Especially not a game based on 4E rules.
@Sionnie

So, your post raised some questions for me. Firstly, what is this evasion roll? Is this some new rogue class feature in 5E?.

Secondly, this is a bit of advice for your writing style going forward. Try to avoid flavoring your attacks as if they were killing blows as you have no way of actually knowing whether your attacks were lethal that turn.
@SomeChap is in charge of the creation of regiments and such. And he really enjoys doing it as far as I know. The initiative for this came from him. He put me in charge bcause I have more general experience GMing things overall.

I put the system we are starting in into a google drive here. There's also other planets that you can find here As you might be able to see. the local regiments have a bit of a germanic bend to them. So keep that in mind
Galawayn heard the ticking of bolts uselessly burying themselves into the sie of the carriage. It appeared his illusion had done its job admirably. But perhaps now it was time to take a more direct approach. He jumped out of the carriage and into the open, the arcane glow of magic formed on the head of his staff. He picked out the best target to fire at and a streak of frost shot through the air.
MY turn, in order of actions taken

I move out of the carriage from the left and take a position where all visible bandits are in my line of fire. My range of attack is 60ft, so this shouldn't be a problem despite my subpar 25ft move speed

If I see one of the bandits in the bushes, I will fire a ray of frost at them, else I will fire at whatever bandit is currently most wounded and in my sights.

rolls are, from bottom to top

My perception rolls, which would mean my actual roll is 12+1

My attack roll

A damage roll in the event that my attack hits
Well then... I'll get to work on someone that will remind you all that you're fighting FOR TEH EMPRAH!
terrorism? THat's quite... alarming.
Can you just... trust our GM to make his own stories without outright demanding he uses existing characters? I know I would be outright insulted if people would start demanding I used existing characters in a world I created myself. @Sionnie
