Current Sick of joining roleplays only to have them die. I hate investing my time and energy into something for nothing. Seriously making me want to give up on roleplayer guild.

Mathias was suddenly surrounded by friendly strangers, all eager to help him and Lila survive. The term stranger must definitely be stressed as it seemed none of them were human at first glance either. The strange throng of allies worked well against the Pursuer, disabling it quickly.

The Pursuer was not done, in a strangely intelligent fit of rage it peeled the crushed helmet from its twisted skull and hurled it at Fazra. Its axe hand was being effectively crushed by the gargoyle. In an empowered effort to free itself the Pursuer moved its free hand against the gargoyle and rammed him toward the wall, everyone else be damned.

Mathias shouted. "Disable the legs! Power comes from the base of the body, don't let him move!."

Outside the Walls

Ruso was not the only one who was surprised with Sulfrax's decision. The violent end to Florence rendered the more likely one to talk into a worthless corpse. They were already caught, that action didn't befit an archmage. Sulfrax was good with his magics and with word but he was brash, conflicted by emotion. After Rem had seen the hands of the archmage it was safe to assume that the brashness he expressed and the haste he took in his research had cost him. He had paid a price for that power. Was it worth it to him?

Main Gates

Rem did follow Sulfrax. After an assassination attempt like that there was no way around it. The mage had gotten himself into more trouble than he wanted. The path was set and he would follow it. This event just got bigger than him. Gaians? Whoever they were they posed a threat to the known kingdoms. Just those two were surprisingly strong, clearly not stronger than Sulfrax but enough so that they were a clear threat. If there were skirmishers out there still doing this in the land it would explain a lot of trouble lately. This was just the beginning. Hopefully some real answers would be pulled out of Ruso.

The guard called Rem a vassle. A smile crept onto his face that he just couldn't help. He'd almost laughed too. Whatever. He made sure to direct the guards to the disabled Ruso outside as if they hadn't noticed the interloper yet.

Senna nuzzled against Rem's sleeve. Rem spoke soft commands to her. "Stay close. Be good." She seemed to understand. A little too much. She snorted at him with dissatisfaction. Senna glanced up at his face and he looked steadily back at her. She broke her gaze away first and complied. The Ironbristle stayed close to him as he followed Sulfrax through Hyznia to meet the king.

The Pursuer is quick in his aggression but he doesn't really evade attacks. He feels no pain since he's dead but I'm sure that hammer will deal a hell of a lot of damage to him. Hell, you could probably straight up destroy his aged weapon if the two collide. You guys can control what happens but keep in mind this guy is no pushover. Makes you wonder what killed him. =)

Or do you want me to decide what he does?
Mathias and Lila kept moving at a pace to keep ahead of the Pursuer. Its supernatural speed was curious as it was easily able to keep up despite the limping in its gait. Up ahead the light that Lila had mentioned grew in intensity as they closed the distance. It was raised into the air. Through cringing eyes Mathias could make out the outlines of people or more likely humanoid creatures.

The unknown personage called down the tunnel. "Who goes there?"

Mathias may well have called back but noticed a glinting reflection swinging out of the corner of his vision. The Pursuer's great axe swept through the air. Mathias spun, driving his shield quickly in place to block the attack. The sheer force behind it staggered him away several feet. That one's going to hurt later.

The Pursuer started moving toward Lila. Mathias intercepted it with a challenging shout, trying to lock its attention. The strength of his voice was startling to many creatures that were capable of fearing. This one however seemed little more than inconvenienced that something was in its way toward easier prey. Now that Mathias was face to face with his assailant he could tell how large this fearsome creature was. In life he must have been a champion among the barbarian raiders from outside the walls. Maybe he led a group down here to try and find a way past them. The towering Pursuer raised its own warcry, a terrifying raspy shout that defied human limit.

Taking the axe in both hands it swept down toward Mathias, eager to split him like a log. The lord leapt back, realizing he wasn't going to block something like that. Finally given the chance, he glanced back at the person addressing them. No way he was going to take this thing down on his own.

"SIr Godfrey of Penshold!" He exclaimed his title without announcing himself a lord. The Pursuer quickly recovered its strike and prepared a sweep that spanned the cave tunnel. Mathias jumped back again but his enemy kept pressing forward. Between strikes he called back. "A little help?" Screw formalities this was a dangerous foe. Finally he backed out of the cave mouth into the massive underground road.
Watching Warcraft for the rest of my night. I'll get a post out tomorrow.
Mathias stopped on Lila's cue. Torch still in hand, he squinted ahead.

"I see light, but I cannot tell its source." Lila described. Despite his time down here Mathias still couldn't see what she was describing. No matter. Another light meant creatures who didn't dwell in the dark or a camp of some type. Even if neither were the case they would be on the right track.

"Let's keep going, then. I could welcome a change of scenery right about now." Mathias suggested. He stayed close behind her as they went.

Suddenly the sound of metal dragging across the cave floor resumed and it was close behind them. It was wavered in and out as whatever creature just out of sight dragged their instrument. The torn metal that adorned the battered creature glinted in the light of Mathias' torch. "The torch.." He lamented, "It's following the light." He raised it, illuminating the tunnel more clearly and consequently the horror as well.

There was no longer any reason to discard the torch. This clearly unliving thing was shuffling at them at a surprising pace. It was clad in fur and bits of iron. Blood covered it from several wounds that must have proved fatal when it lived. It dragged an axe behind it that seemed almost too big for this now dilapidated creature. Every step it gasped through its torn throat, an action that was no more than muscle memory.

Mathias warned Lila. "That thing is right behind us! We shouldn't fight it in these spaces. Hurry to the light and pray we don't run into more." He picked up the pace.
I'd imagine we'd come to the Bright Road but it's more likely we'd meet in between. Let's do that. It'll give you some space to get some roleplay in while we get underway.
@t2waveI don't work tomorrow so we could definitely catch up if you're up to it.

Hopefully you're feeling better then too.
