Bio

I prefer Casual and Advanced roleplays, as writing paragraphs and multiple characters makes it feel more as if a group is collaborating on an actual novel. One-liners, speed-posting, and the like just doesn't interest me. I don't have a specific genre that I write in, as I tend to jump around them, but I suppose that I tend to lean more towards ones that involve action, drama, and horror. When I write romance, I like for it to be that "slow burn" sort. But in general, I can be interested in just about any genre, as long as the idea of the story itself is appealing to me.

Initially, Basil was just too shocked to do anything, but once he realized what was happening, Basil pushed against Jace's chest until, eventually, Jace stumbled back; likely, he'd only succeeded because he was drunk. Shaking his head, he said, "No, Jace. You're...you're drunk and not in full control of yourself." He moved past him, towards the door. "If you're suddenly going to accept me again, I'd prefer that you do it while you're...sober. That way I can know it's true." Not only that, but he wasn't intent on potentially taking advantage of Jace when he was in such a vulnerable state; he didn't want to be accused of such a thing the next day, either.
Basil was quiet for a moment, but finally responded, "Well...you haven't exactly been very...accepting, as of late, so yes, to a degree, I am naturally afraid of you." He sighed. "But on a whole? No. You always looked out for me, even in the thick of things. I won't forget that."
Basil averted his eyes from Jace's gaze, barely refraining from shaking where he stood; with how unpredictable Jace had been as of late, he couldn't be certain of what his intentions were at the moment. Not to mention that he reeked of alcohol. His voice quivering, he said, "I'm sorry, Jace. That's all that I can say and there's absolutely nothing that I can do. All I know is that I'm glad that I'm here. And that I still have work to do. I'm not giving up. Perhaps I am a different person, after all these years, but that doesn't change the fact that I have my goals and will do anything to fulfill them. I'm still a person, even if not the one that you thought you knew."
"Because I wasn't even sure, Jace. If I could have avoided it, I would have just disproven my theories and never brought it up. It would have been easier for the both of us that way," Basil responded, eyes narrowed. As Jace crept closer, he took equal steps back, though he was soon against the wall.
Basil shrugged, merely flipping to another page instead of looking at him as he said, "Jace, you're drunk, so I'd suggest that you just go to bed before you say or do something that you'll regret." Finally, he closed the notebook and looked up at Jace. "If you still want to come with me, I'm leaving in the morning. I thought that I'd at least ask before I did. Of course, I understand if you don't want to, but whether you believe it or not, I still view you as my closest friend. So I wouldn't just leave you behind, not even after...after what nearly happened." He moved off the bed, slipping his book back into his bag. Without facing Jace, he said, "If you want to give up on this, then there will be no hard feelings left behind. After all, you said so yourself that you only ever came because you wanted to protect Basil. And well, I'm not exactly him. Therefore, you have no reason left to stay, to risk your life over a...a machine. One needs motivation if they're going to accomplish anything. And unless you've suddenly had a change of heart, you're no longer going to find such motivation in me."
Leith sighed, "Because it's not for them. It's for everyone, for the world. So maybe all of the risks are worth taking."
Leith was quiet, but then asked, "So we lie and claim that there's only one left?"
Leith winced when Kaye grabbed him so fiercely into a hug, but embraced her back, albeit awkwardly. "We still don't know if Jace and Basil even want to be allies. But for this plan to work, Basil is definitely our best bet. We'll just have to see what he thinks of it--hell, it may not even be possible."
Leith was rendered speechless, but then sighed and responded, "You're right, Kaye, but..." He leaned against the wall, folding his arms over his chest. "Before everything died off, excluding me, of course, those scientists had gone through about five years' worth of research. After the first G.E.C.K. failed, they tore the second apart and attempted to reverse-engineer its...properties or technology, whatever it is that it'd be considered. Through this, they were able to develop medicine and the sort. It extended our expiration dates for a while longer, but it was nothing monumental. But there should still be three left, unless they were hiding stuff from us, too. If we go back there, we may be able to find that old research and use it. Basil is smart. Perhaps he'd understand what they were doing or trying to do, at least. Then, if we're fortunate, then we won't have to depend on finding these things anymore because we can just make more. We can make enough for the entire wasteland or...look, it's a long-shot, I know, but I've heard crazier ideas before."
Leith shook his head and replied, "Kaye, that's just not how the Brotherhood operates. More often than not, you have to be born into their ranks; it's rare that they accept an outsider. Otherwise, you're nothing more than a dumb civilian to them. You heard how that Brotherhood woman spoke to us. Like we were savages. Plus, to them, I really am an 'abomination,' being a ghoul--just a reminder of how humanity went wrong two centuries ago and why they need to hide technology from the world even more diligently."
