Bio

Soooo, basically I've been role playing for... fifteen years? I've been writing longer than that though... more along the lines of thirteen years. I'm 30, have a kiddo, and am happily married. So, I'm probably older than the majority of you on here but I love to write... I'm odd. I love to set and create ideas in my head but I don't really like to GM... I'm more of a throw everyone together and see what happens sort. Also, because I do have a kiddo my schedule is a little unpredictable. I can't promise much though I try to post at least once a day.

I enjoy high fantasy, mystery, drama, and romance BUT I don't do smutty play. I prefer to fade to black when things get steamy... Partly because I'm happily married and partly because I don't want the main focus in my plays to be smutt. I have several characters I adore and can't quite lead myself to give up on... I love expanding and evolving their stories so feel free to ask me about them and some of my roleplay ideas.... I have many.

EDIT: ((OOC Warning: Part of this post came a touch early as Shorus has not yet knocked away the door and therefore they cannot yet be in the Barracks. Consider this post as coming after that happens.))

Aevah had no sooner gotten out of the way than chaos broke out. Out came a Minotaur, a monster with many arms, a lizardman was released from his cage, some kind of Dryad or similar Fae being was also freed.

She paused at the lizard-man's cage, "If you stay they will kill you, whether you attempted to escape or not... do you want to wait for your death or risk your life for freedom. With this many people we may have a chance..." She didn't usually care about others but right now there was strength in numbers.

Everyone set off, the Guards were massacred due to their large friends and magic wielding companions. Aevah played it smart and lingered behind the others, letting them do all the heavy work and noticed that another was doing the same. The woman was a dark elf, or at least she so assumed since she'd never seen one in person before. As the Nobleman shouted directions, Aevah smiled somewhat... If the Guards had been planning to sell their things, the Barracks would be where everything was so that they could split the goods to sell once their prisoners were dead. Since they did not plan on dying this day, she supposed they would not mind too much if they reclaimed their lost items... or at least whatever had not been sold.

Aevah did very little fighting, mostly she did a lot of looting. She took a dagger each from two dead guards and that would serve her well enough for now. As they fought their way along, Aevah desperately avoided touching any exposed skin of her companions and especially the dying guards, she couldn't risk slipping into that dream-like state right now without risking her throat being cut. Once they'd finally managed to reach the barracks, Aevah was forced to do a little hands on fighting since there were several guards still here. She ducked a blade and sent her dagger up through his chin, she released it as he toppled over and grimaced. She disliked killing people when it could be avoided, when a blade was aiming to decapitate her however... it was time to fight. She headed immediately to the tables where some of their things lay and grabbed a pair of boots and what had been her clothing before she'd been captured... Her necklace was not in sight but there were several chests near the table which she was sure held more of their goods.

"Our things are here, not all but most... hurry. We don't have time to look for more than what we absolutely need."

Not really caring for her modesty for the sake of speed and alertness, she quickly yanked on the clothing... not really worrying about tidiness either. She eyed the locks, they weren't very strong or well crafted, unlike the ones on the cages that had held them in the dungeon. She used her booted foot to stomp a few off and threw them open. After some quick digging she found what she was after and slipped the necklace on. She had no more time to waste on finding her coinpurse, backpack, or her bow... she'd have to craft a new one later. She kept an eye on the doors, figuring those who didn't need armor would be doing the same, the Guards WERE coming... they didn't have much time.

"When we get to a locked door... stay out of the way. I can open it, if someone doesn't blast it open first... that might be more effective in this case but the more noise we make the more guards will come running... Speed or stealth? It may be too late for stealth..."
Her words made him smile, "It's definitely a possibility..." He grew serious, "Serena... I didn't tell Anya soon enough, I spent so much time fighting what I felt and worrying that I wasn't good enough that I missed out on her life.. I... don't want to make the same mistake with you..." He took a breath, "I don't just care about you Serena... I'm in love with you. I don't care about your past or your scars and I don't care that I'm noble and you're a dhampir, nobility has never been my thing anyway."

He looked away embarrassed, "I'm nuts... completely insane sometimes... half the time I don't know what I want, but I know I want to be with you. Guardian or not, I want you with me. That's why I did what I did..."

Sebastian could feel the shame and disappointment radiating off her, her aura was brushing his enough he could manage that. After she'd freed him he sat up, caught her around the waist and tugged her onto the bed with him. He wasn't sure what he wanted to say but he wanted to say something... anything to make her feel better. He considered his options and wondered...

"I have an idea..." He rubbed the back of his neck, "I'm not sure if it will work, but it's something worth trying... if you want." He sighed a little, "Addiction is an illness, it's your body relying on what you were getting. I can heal an illness but an illness like that would take repeated healing over time until it's out of your system again... Then, there is another method... Humans use hypnotism to make people forget or remember things. I can't make you forget your life but maybe I can make you forget the biggest problem... the way the bites felt. That will take repeated compulsion too... but if we stretch it out over time and do only a little at a time I should be alright. I can't do it until I'm better but... it's an option..."
As soon as Serena placed the ring on his finger, Sebastian seemed to relax somewhat. The hallucinations seemed to stop and his mind cleared a bit, "Thank you..." As she curled back up with him he rattled his arms and sighed a bit. "I think I'm sane enough to be out of these... I don't feel like I'm going to slip anymore, at least so long as I'm not ambushed by people or made angry..."

As she noted her scars he frowned, "If I could make them forget... I would." He closed his eyes, "As it is, I don't even think I have enough in me to light a match." He looked at her, "You proved yourself a great Guardian, you... died defending me, to protect me. You killed off two or three Strigoi on your own. No matter what they say, half of them haven't given half as much for their wards." He smiled, "And NONE of them are as beautiful as you... not just your looks... you have a beautiful soul... one of the brightest auras I've ever seen. Don't forget that."

Anna watched Gunner fall asleep and though she felt better, a lot better, she still couldn't sleep. Every time she closed her eyes she saw Anya's face and she saw Gunner lying there pale... Serena dead. She shivered and snuggled against Gunner trying to focus on the beat of his heart. It took a while, but she finally fell asleep in his arms.
I thought it was a nice touch Hamster, it's actually really convenient to be able to see how everyone's doing. Woohooo! We're moving!
From what Hamster wrote, it looks like at least most of us were in the same cell... I know Kyrtaar was in the same cell as Hamster and I... The minotaur was in the one beside us and Roman's character was across the hall from ours. I'm guessing the big monstrous guys probably have their own cells since that seems to be how it's playing out.

@Roman Lol, I was imagining the same.
Anna smiled, glad that he'd said exactly what she needed to hear. She didn't want to think about loosing him. She ran a hand through her hair, "Well... Basil is pretty cool. I think she and Seb would get along. Besides, I know Seb is going to that Moroi college and I bet Basil will be too. It's a popular place.." Anna hesitated, "Also, there's another option..." She rubbed the back of her neck, "I know we've always talked about Guarding Seb but...The Queen put together the Elites... some of them are made into Guardians for the Queen herself or at Academy because they have high rankings, others are used as Hunters against the strigoi and are occasionally assigned temporary Wards as a compromise to the rogue Dhampirs hunting Strigoi alone... If we were a good enough team, they'd probably make us hunters... It would be more dangerous that Guarding but we'd be together..."

She shrugged, "We have options... we can make this work. Guardian Hathaway and Belikov do it... and I hear they're married now."

She listened, "It's possible... poor Seb. We should go check on him when you feel better."

Sebastian wished he could put his arms around her but part of him was thankful for the restraints.... He knew he could be dangerous if he lost it for even a minute. He didn't want to hurt her. "It's alright... I'm never going to ask you to take any of this from me so you'll never go crazy yourself if you don't open yourself up to the other stuff. I've managed it alright so far, I just have to avoid using it whenever possible..."

He kissed the top of her head, the only way he could show any kind of affection but he was sure she felt it, he couldn't suppress the way he felt about her emotionally. He'd chosen her over Anya, he knew that... He could have maybe turned Anya back if he hadn't saved Serena but the thought of not saving Serena tore at something inside of him. He grieved for Anya but he'd be ruined without Serena... It made him feel guilty in a way. "Serena... I don't want you to do anything you don't want to.... I care about you too much. You don't owe me, I did what I did because I couldn't handle the thought of you not being here..."
As Serena entered the room Anya's looming 'shadow' faded and was gone but his heart was still pounding in his chest and he was still desperately confused. "Serena..." She took his shaking hand and some of the fight slipped out of him, a wary calm falling on him. "I'm.. am I at Academy? I keep seeing the tunnels... I..." He swallowed hard and turned his eyes towards her. "You're alive... I managed to... thank Vlad."

He was trying desperately to peace things together from what he remembered, having Serena there helped him to accept truth rather than delusion. Everywhere he looked though, he could see auras and they half blinded him to anything else. He could see the shadows lingering around Serena's aura and shuddered, "I'm sorry... I couldn't lose you too..."

If it weren't for him those shadows wouldn't be lingering around her... He had no defenses right now, no way of controlling himself so he could feel what she was feeling and realized that his fear was leaking into her. For her sake he tried to bring it under control. Still, he was seeing things... Sometimes the walls seemed to go to stone, like the tunnels... other times they crawled with darkness. He shivered, "This... this should be worse..."

The nurse, seeing that he'd calmed answered that one. "We've had other Spirit users here to help you a little at a time..."

So, they'd kept him from going completely insane then... but would he ever come back fully? He didn't know if his sanity would last against seeing things like this... hearing everyone's thoughts and... He shook his head, trying to focus on Serena. "Anna... Gunner... do we know if they're alright?"

Again the nurse answered, "Anna is fine though she had a concussion and a dislocated shoulder, Gunner is awake and still recovering he... lost a lot of blood. I would imagine that they're... catching up."

Obviously the way Anna had been clinging to Gunner when the other Guardians came in had given them away

~*~

Anna blushed, "Hahaha... but actually true. I was scared that I'd lost YOU. You were so pale and you wouldn't wake up..."

She slid her arms around him, resting her head on his chest and listening to the comforting beat of his heart. He was okay, they were okay... Seb would be alright. She took a breath and bit at her lip. "I meant it Gun... I love you. I don't know..." She took another deep breath and continued, "I don't know how I'm going to deal with losing you at Graduation..." She shook her head, "I've... I've been considering requesting Basil as my permanent ward instead of Seb... He's got Serena and... he's got you. He doesn't need me to and if we... if we split I don't think I could handle seeing you every day... not without... complicating things..."
Anna kissed him back then leaned her head back against his shoulder, "I love you too..." She smiled somewhat then swung her legs up on the bed and laid down next to him, patting the bed next to where he sat. "Come on Pretty Boy... you need rest. You're still recovering from everything and I doubt the others are awake yet... Are you hungry? I can go grab you some breakfast..."

~*~

Ms. Karp smiled kindly, "Of course... you need this first in case he wakes..." She handed Serena a small silver ring, "It'll help when things get bad for him and it starts to slip into you..." She sighed, "There's also something else you should know, as a Guardian you will end up facing Strigoi... The more you kill the closer you become with shadows. You may begin to be able to feel them nearby and... sometimes you may see things. You must close them out and never let them in, they will push you to madness. If you do these things it is possible you will live a long and happy life, if you do not... the darkness may eat away at your sanity. That is the price you pay for such a bond..."

Sebastian woke in a cold sweat, his mind spinning. Where was he? Why was he restrained? The Strigoi had him? Was he being kept as food? He struggled against his restraints, Anya's face haunting him. He closed his eyes against the image, no.... No, she was dead. He'd seen them put a stake through her heart after she'd... after she'd killed. He struggled harder and a nurse came running, hearing his yells.

"Sebastian you are safe! Calm down!"

"No no! Where is Serena?! What did you do with her?! I brought her back! I know I brought her back! Let me go!"

The nurse withdrew a syringe from her lab coat and frowned, "Sebastian, you have to calm down or I'll have to sedate you again."

"Why is SHE here?! She's dead I saw her die... blood and screaming and...." He shuddered all over... Anya's red eyes glaring down at him as she hovered in the air above him. Somewhere in his mind he knew she wasn't there, that he was hallucinating but he couldn't make himself believe it. He was lost...

~*~

Anna heard the yelling and flinched, "Seb must have woken... they've been trying to keep him sedated to moderate his recovery. They're hoping if they keep him under until they restore his... light... they can keep the damage to his mentality from getting worse..."

Aevah sighed, the stench of the Eblistan Citadel Dungeon making her ill and the simple burlap garb they'd given her to cover her body itching incessantly. She grimaced, when you had a sensative nose the smell in here wasn't just unpleasant, it was downright disgusting. Sure, as a thief she'd spent her time in some pretty rank places but this was... She reached up and fingered the hairpin hidden in the thick hair at the base of her skull. It was the only one they'd missed. For the past hour she'd been considering her options... She could attempt to pick the lock, hoping it wasn't enchanted and risk one of the others ratting her out and thereby sending her to her death much more quickly than originally planned... OR she could set here, hoping the others would cause enough of a ruckus when the Guards came for her to slip away unnoticed.

There was just ONE, major flaw to her plans... the other Guards. Even if she got out of THIS part of the Dungeon there would be more Guards waiting. She'd never make it out alone, stealth would only get you so far. The chains on the wall beside her rattled and her topaz eyes flicked towards the man attached to them, finally opening his eyes. Fancy that... She'd thought him dead for sure by now, he definately looked it. She didn't worry more about him though, she had other things on her mind... Edging around her cellmates warily, careful not to brush her skin against theirs, she made it to the front of the cage and frowned. The lock was one she'd picked before but she couldn't imagine it NOT being charmed in some way. She sighed one more time before making up her mind, she was going to die if she didn't do something and she doubted any of the others wanted to die either... so why rat out one of their few chances at escape?

She knew the Guards were in between shifts, she'd been paying close attention for the past few days she'd been in here without food or water. Now, she took advantage... She had about five minutes before the Guards returned, plenty of time to work on the lock if it wasn't enchanted. She held out her hands, cupping the lock and frowned again. There was magic, it was dull and weak as if whoever maintained the spells had failed to do so for some time. Carefully, she clutched it and her palm pulsed with heat... Normally, she was sure it would probably have burned her badly. Now though, all it did was heat her hand unpleasantly. She'd have to hurry though if she didn't want a burn. She slipped the hairpin from her hair and twisted it with her teeth. If she let all the prisoners go and they tried to escape all at once... how likely was it they'd catch ALL of them? She began fiddling with the lock, glancing irritatedly at the ones in the cell making too much noise before returning to her work.

There was a soft click as she smiled her triumph, she'd just slipped the lock off the door when the the familiar sound of Guards deflated her joy. She grimaced and immediately backed away from the front of the cell just as the man who'd been chained to the wall made his way forward, a risk taker she may be but not suicidal. Let someone else either take the blame for unlocking the door or let them attempt escape first... She slipped back into her little corner, going back to trying to appear a small blonde half-elf unworthy of anyone's notice. It had worked for her for the past few days, why not keep using what worked? Her palm stung, she'd held on a little to long but the burn was only a mild irritation... worth it if someone took the shot she'd given them. Still, if half the prisoners were as wary as she was they'd all be out of luck because no one would be stupid enough to make the first move. She licked cracked lips and hoped someone was indeed... that stupid.
I'm so impatient! Lol
