Soooo, basically I've been role playing for... fifteen years? I've been writing longer than that though... more along the lines of thirteen years. I'm 30, have a kiddo, and am happily married. So, I'm probably older than the majority of you on here but I love to write... I'm odd. I love to set and create ideas in my head but I don't really like to GM... I'm more of a throw everyone together and see what happens sort. Also, because I do have a kiddo my schedule is a little unpredictable. I can't promise much though I try to post at least once a day.

I enjoy high fantasy, mystery, drama, and romance BUT I don't do smutty play. I prefer to fade to black when things get steamy... Partly because I'm happily married and partly because I don't want the main focus in my plays to be smutt. I have several characters I adore and can't quite lead myself to give up on... I love expanding and evolving their stories so feel free to ask me about them and some of my roleplay ideas.... I have many.

Alright.... so impatience got the best of me BUT I only posted this up to give you guys a jump on ideas. :) We'll actually start playing tomorrow. So, please hold your posts till then. XD Also, my post is longer than what I listed in the preferences but like I said... my posts go back and forth so don't run off. So long as you hit that most of the time, I'm happy... I'm not super strict so no pressure. :)

XD Also, yes... my post is probably longer than some of you will do right now but don't let that run you off. All of you apparently didn't mind the RP Preferences and so long as you hit that most of the time I'm happy. I expect ya to fall back and forth on occasion so no pressure.

It always started the same way, irritability and mood swings... a fever. Then came the chills up and down my spine, the shaking in my legs, and the sensation of bees under my skin. No matter how much I ate I stayed hungry and the urge to be doing something, anything, so long as I was moving became unbarable. All of it only built and built until it reached the peak during the full moon and even my thoughts got hazy. Usually, I could Change at will or choose not to. Usually, I had control over my other side. The full moon was the one time where I didn't have a choice... and the one time I didn't have control... That scared me.

Ironically, though I've always been what I am and I'd always suffered from the fevers, hunger, and irritability around the full moon... I'd never actually gone through a Change until recently. See, females of my kind are a bit of a rarity. As a rule, human women don't survive being bitten and Changed... The strain is too much on the mind and body, even men die on occassion. Before me, only ONE female had ever survived the Change. Her case was an odd one, she'd been a survivor... An orphan jumping from one abusive home to the next, who had learned to overcome being a victim. She'd been in peak physical condition, mentally and emotionally strong, and the one who had bitten her had also been a bit... strange for our kind. He was an orphaned male werewolf who had spent most of his life living in the marshes of the bayou, and had gone through his first change as a pre-pubecent child... also unheard of in our world. So, it was chalked up to odd circumstance... a combonation that would probably never happen again.

Later though, through the help of the lore the Ijiraat had collected (a type of shifter) the pack discovered some answers to their mystery... According to the Ijiraat, it was likely that the male's parents had BOTH been werewolves, it was also likely that the woman's father had been a mutt who'd been living among humans and trying to blend in. Eventually, they had twins... a boy and a girl. Both of their children were werewolves and the both had gone through their first Changes young. I'm like the woman... I'd had a mutt father, a passing salesman if you will, I didn't know his name and neither did my mother since it had been a one night stand... One of many. I'd gone through most of my life not knowing what I was or why I seemed to always get sick around the full moon... Not until I'd been bitten. Like the woman, I'd survived... barely.

A group of mutts, nonpack werewolves, had taken me in. Normally, mutts don't run together. They're loners and usually troublemakers who don't like following Pack rules, but this group was different. The only reason they are mutts is because they don't feel like settling down and joining Pack life... Recently, however, there have been deaths following us wherever we go, half eaten bodies. Someone is trying to frame us for man-killing... someone with a vendetta. Now, the Pack is hunting us down as any possible risk to the secret of our kind's existance is a crime punishable by death... If my little group doesn't soon find out who is causing the deaths we may face full on war with the Pack, an outcome no one wants.

The Change was on me now, cutting off my thoughts of the Pack and pretty much everything else. The pain was intense, bones compressing as muscle and tendons rearranged themselves... Fur sprouted along the body as I fell to my hands and knees, spine elongating to a tail and joints popping and snapping as my body twisted and arched in ways human bodies can't... My vision danced and faded in and out as my eyes changed to see as a wolf sees... different hues and colors. A gargled sound of pain escaped my lips as my skull elongated, sprouting a muzzle... Soon came the change in nose and ears, hands and feet, skin feeling like it was being torn to bits... and then it was over. The whole process took maybe fifteen minutes if you did it often enough and had enough energy. If you were tired and hadn't done it in a while it could take up to an hour of stopping and starting over and over and unimaginable pain. The only good thing about the Change was that once it was done and the pain faded, the endorphins from finally being DONE with the pain and the adrenaline of the experience flooded you making the searing pain a delicious ache that made you want to RUN. Forgetting the troubles of the day, I tilted my head back and howled... answering cries of MY pack sang back to me from all around the woods. Once I had their locations it was time for a game of hide and seek, it was a good way to get our urge to hunt out without hurting anyone... and the fact that we were currently on a wildlife preserve meant we were safe from hunters and could probably track down a deer later in the night....

My wolf thrilled at the idea of chasing down actual prey after having been pent up in my human shell for so long... I sniffed the air and howled again, a kind of marco pollo to see who found me first.

Nephriel said This story is loosely based on the book/tv series called 'Bitten'. In this story, werewolves are actually pretty rare as it's extremely hard on the body to survive the first Change, and even more difficult if you have been bitten. Our main group are a bunch of Nomadic Mutts who consider themselve's thier own pack. They have stayed out of trouble for years until recently... Someone is following them, leaving half eaten bodies behind and now the Pack is hot on their tails because they believe the Nomads are responsible... Now, the Nomads have to prove their innocence or they might be faced with an all out war with the pack... An outcome that no one wants...

Mutts - Nonpack werewolves who own no territories. Most mutts are mutts because they disagree with the way the Pack rules. There are laws in place for a reason but the mutts feel they are either above them or an exception to the rule. Other mutts are what they are because they don't feel like settling down, they follow the rules and keep a low profile and most times the Pack leaves them alone.

Pack - Wolves who fall under the Head Alpha's rule. Each territory, usually a couple states wide, has it's own Pack Leader who is also referred to as an Alpha. These Alphas form the council that reports to the Head Alpha once a year. Though it is possible for an Alpha or a Head Alpha to name a successor they usually aren't well accepted until they prove themselves. Any Alpha can be challenged for the title at any time by any member of the Pack, a Head Alpha can only be challenged by another Alpha. If a Mutt tries to challenge an Alpha they are usually taken care of by the Beta, the Enforcer of the pack. Only an Alpha can accept possible new members into the Pack, these guys are the Omegas, and at the end of their first year with the Pack they have to be taken to the Head Alpha for a final yes or no.

Betas- The enforcers to each pack. They take care of any threats and make sure the rules are followed. When the Alpha is out of commission for any reason, the Beta takes charge.

Omegas - New possible members to the pack. They eat last, they run the errands, are often picked on and given a hard time. They have to prove themselves worthy before they can rise from the rank of Omega and actually become part of the pack.

Female Werewolves- Even more rare than their male counterparts as they are born carrier's of the virus, with it lying dormant in their systems. For this reason puberty doesn't trigger the virus like it does in a male werewolf, they have to be bitten... This is the reason that it was only recently discovered that a woman could be changed at all or even that they carried the virus. It had been assumed that women were born completely human and for that reason the female child of a werewolf was often abandoned to her mother whereas a male child would be taken away with the father. The purpose of this was to keep the human mother from discovering what the father and son were, keeping the werewolf existance a secret. Unfortunately, a human woman without a werewolf parent will never make it through the Change because their bodies can't take the strain... even physically fit and perfectly healthy men have died from it. Lately, some of the werewolf fathers have been considering going back for their daughters now that the truth is known.

Change - Werewolves can Change at will until the full moon when they are forced to change whether they like it or not. The Change is agonizing but once the pain is done the endorphins and adrenaline that flood you make the experience worth it. The longer you wait between Changes the longer it takes to get through the process and the more painful it is... Werewolves have to eat a lot to keep their energy up, if they are tired or too distracted or haven't changed enough the Change could start and stop and take upwards of an hour instead of just five minutes.

Ijiraat - Shape-shifters that can't fully change from human to wolf and are instead stuck somewhere in between. They are as big as black bears and as strong as them as well. They live in the wilds of Alaska and are even more rare than Werewolves. As they are fewer in number they all live together and have never warred among themselves... Therefore, they are more familiar with ancient lore than the werewolves whose texts and scrolls have been burned by other packs more times than can be counted. It is because of them that the wolves found out the truth of female werewolves. They want to be left alone but seem to respect the werewolves as superior beings despite the fact that they are stronger.

There are other beings out there as well... Will-o-whisps, witches, and demons of different sorts... After we have a couple werewolves I'll think about possibly accepting other things.

Active Members: - If you aren't included in this list it is because I do not consider you active till your first post. :)

Go ahead. XD

Also, I think we have.... four or five people now? I think we'll pause on accepting after this next one until we see how everyone plays together. :)

@Dragonbud Actually, I'm going to start this up tomorrow and I might accept a few more characters as we go but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. :)

@Pathfinder Because I know you're play style and I can already see most (other than the background) of your CS, you're approved. Just let me know when it's done so I can give it a look see.

I'll work on the IC in the meantime guys...
Welcome pal... :) Forewarning, this is the first play I have gmed in years....
Awesome, everyone is accepted so far.
Make a CS :) I've just been kinda lingering about waiting for more people.
